  • Miye Oni: Waived by Orlando

Oni was waived by the Magic on Wednesday. Oni joined Orlando on an Exhibit 10 contract in late August and will part ways with the club with a week remaining until the regular season. It's possible he begins the 2023-24 campaign in the G League.

  • Magic's Miye Oni: Inks deal with Orlando

Oni and the Magic reached an agreement on a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 deal Tuesday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports. Oni appeared in 80 games for Utah between 2019-20 and 2021-22, but he hasn't played in an NBA contest since. The 6-foot-5 guard out of Yale will get a chance to compete during training camp, but in the likely event he doesn't make the opening day roster, the Magic will retain Oni's G League rights for the 2023-24 campaign.

  • Miye Oni: Not retained by New Orleans

The Pelicans didn't re-sign Oni after his 10-day contract expired Monday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Both Oni and Zylan Cheatham won't be retained after the two joined the Pelicans on 10-day hardship exemption deals when Willy Hernangomez and Garrett Temple were in the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Hernangomez and Temple have since cleared the protocols and returned to action, leaving Oni and Cheatham ineligible to play for the Pelicans. Oni didn't make any appearances for the Pelicans during his week-and-a-half-long stint with the team.

  • Pelicans' Miye Oni: Signs 10-day with New Orleans

Oni signed a 10-day hardship contract with the Pelicans on Friday, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports. Oni was waived by the Jazz last month after appearing in 16 games and averaging 0.3 points in 2.8 minutes per contest. He figures to have a small role again with the Pelicans.

  • Miye Oni: Traded, then waived

The Jazz traded Oni and a 2028 second-round pick to the Thunder, who then waived the 24-year-old to open up a roster spot Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Oni appeared in 16 games for the Jazz during his third season with the team and averaged a career-low 2.8 minutes per game. The trade allowed the Jazz to save money and open a roster spot, while the move to waive Oni also allowed the Thunder to open up a roster spot ahead of the February trade deadline. It's unclear what the future holds for the former Yale Bulldog.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Available Thursday

Oni (ankle) is available for Thursday's matchup against the Timberwolves. Oni hasn't played in Utah's past three games. That said, he's a small part of the rotation, and his availability doesn't change much.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Questionable Thursday

Oni (ankle) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Timberwolves. Oni is still dealing with a right ankle sprain, and his status for Thursday's game remains questionable. His absence wouldn't affect Utah's rotation much, as Oni is averaging just 2.9 minutes per game this season.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Sits out Monday

Oni wasn't active for Monday's 112-102 win over the Hornets due to a right ankle sprain. Oni hadn't left the bench in either of the Jazz's previous two contests, so his absence is unlikely to affect head coach Quin Snyder's rotation plans. The third-year forward is averaging 2.9 minutes per game in 14 appearances on the season.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Available at Chicago

Oni (illness) is available Saturday at Chicago. A non-COVID illness forced Oni to sit out the previous two games. The guard played six minutes across their other October matchups, suggesting he is not a considerable fantasy option.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Probable Saturday

Oni (illness) is probable for Saturday's contest against the Bulls, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports. Even when healthy, Oni isn't a significant part of the rotation. However, with Mike Conley (knee) out, it's possible Oni sees a slight uptick in minutes.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Ruled out Thursday

Oni (illness) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Rockets. Oni will be sidelined for a second straight game due to a non-COVID illness. His next chance to suit up will be Saturday against Chicago.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Questionable Thursday

Oni (illness) is questionable for Thursday's matchup against the Rockets, Andy Larsen of KSL.com reports. Oni missed Tuesday's game due to the illness. Even when he's healthy, he plays a small role.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Questionable Tuesday

Oni (non-COVID illness) is questionable for Tuesday's contest against the Jazz, Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Oni has only played six minutes across Utah's first two contests and hasn't recorded any stats. If the 24-year-old misses Tuesday's contest, it shouldn't affect the Jazz's rotations.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Will start Wednesday

Oni is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's matchup with Dallas. With many of Utah's key players getting the night off for rest purposes, Oni will make his first start of the preseason. He averaged 1.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in 9.6 minutes per game last season.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Cleared to play

Oni (back) is available for Saturday's Game 3 against the Grizzlies, Andy Larsen of KSL.com reports. Lower back pain kept Oni out for Game 2, but he'll be back in action Saturday. He saw 10 minutes in Game 1 and posted one steal.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Questionable for Game 3

Oni is questionable for Saturday's Game 3 against Memphis due to lower back pain, Andy Larsen of KSL.com reports. Oni was a DNP-CD during Wednesday's Game 2, but he could be held out of Saturday's matchup due to his injury. His absence wouldn't have a significant impact on Utah's rotation.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Plays 16 minutes

Oni recorded five points (2-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt) and three rebounds in 16 minutes during Thursday's 122-103 win over the Trail Blazers. Oni saw his first playing time in three games with Jordan Clarkson (ankle) missing Thursday's game. The second-year player is firmly planted behind Bojan Bogdanovic and Joe Ingles at small forward, as well as Mitchell and Clarkson at shooting guard. Without an injury to one of these core players, Oni is relegated to garbage-time production. It's hardly worth monitoring from a fantasy perspective, but it's possible Oni could see a bit more time on the court if the Jazz elect to limit their starters' minutes with the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference appearing more and more imminent.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Records two blocks in win

Oni recorded three points (1-3 FG, 1-3 3PT), two blocks, one rebound and one assist over 14 minutes in a 111-107 win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday. Oni has received consistent minutes over the team's past three games, averaging 14 minutes per contest. The 23-year-old has upped his volume from three of late, averaging 1.2 more three-point attempts in March compared to February. With the Jazz creeping closer to securing a high seed in the playoffs, don't be surprised if Oni's minutes start to decline as coach Quin Snyder begins to hone in on his playoff rotation.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Plays 15 minutes Wednesday

Oni scored five points (2-2 FG, 1-1 FT) and grabbed one rebound across 15 minutes in a 114-96 win over the Clippers on Wednesday. Oni played his most minutes since mid-January in the win, and though he didn't hurt the club by converting both of his field-goal attempts and his lone free-throw try, he also didn't make many waves on the stat sheet. The 23-year-old has now logged double-digit minutes in three straight games but has scored only 12 combined points over that span.

  • Jazz's Miye Oni: Quality showing in first start

Oni posted 14 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds and one steal in 30 minutes during Friday's 119-111 loss to the Spurs. In his first career start, Oni was impressive, shooting efficiently and grabbing seven boards, three of which were offensive. While he probably won't have a role come playoff time, this performance was encouraging in his development.
