Hawks' Vit Krejci: Deal becomes guaranteed
Krejci's contract became guaranteed Saturday evening, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
Krejci and teammate Tyrese Martin both made it past the deadline, making their contracts guaranteed for the 2022-23 campaign. While Krejci has earned a contract the rest of the way, he's still lightly being used in the rotation, logging no more than four minutes in a game since Dec. 12.... See More ... See Less
Hawks' Vit Krejci: Strong production in debut
Krejci recorded 11 points (4-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists and one block in 32 minutes during Saturday's 124-96 win over Lakeland.
Krejci provided all-around production during his first appearance in the G League this year. Last season, he made 14 appearances for the Delaware Blue Coats and posted at least 10 points, 10 rebounds and five assists just once.... See More ... See Less
Hawks' Vit Krejci: Recalled by Atlanta
Krejci was recalled by the Hawks on Friday, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
Krejci was assigned to the G League's College Park Skyhawks on Thursday but will rejoin the parent club a day later. He's averaged just 1.6 points in 6.6 minutes per game over 16 appearances with Atlanta this year.... See More ... See Less
Hawks' Vit Krejci: Sent to G League
The Hawks assigned Krejci to G League College Park on Thursday.
Krejci hasn't seen more than four minutes of action in a game since Dec. 12, prompting the team to send him to the G League, likely to get him some additional work. It may be a brief stay for him with the Skyhawks.... See More ... See Less
Hawks' Vit Krejci: Good to go Tuesday
Krejci (ankle) is available to play in Tuesday's game versus the Pacers.
Krejci has been upgraded from questionable to available Tuesday with a left ankle sprain. However, the second-year guard has played only three minutes in each of his last two appearances.... See More ... See Less
Hawks' Vit Krejci: Dealing with ankle sprain
Krejci is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Pacers due to a left ankle sprain.
The extent of Krejci's sprain is unclear, but his absence shouldn't have a major impact on Atlanta's rotation. He's appeared in just three of the team's past eight games, totaling 22 minutes in those contests.... See More ... See Less
Hawks' Vit Krejci: Gets on the board
Krejci chipped in five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt) and one rebound over six minutes during Monday's 139-109 loss to the Raptors.
With Atlanta getting torched by Toronto, Krejci contributed his first points of the season. The 22-year-old averaged 6.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 30 games as a rookie with Oklahoma City last season, but he won't see that level of usage on a competitive Atlanta squad.... Hawks' Vit Krejci: Available to make debut
Krejci will be available to play Thursday against the Bucks in their preseason matchup in Abu Dhabi, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
Krejci looks to be fully recovered from a knee procedure he underwent in April. Last season, he averaged 7.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 27.4 minutes across 24 games for the Thunder as a rookie. After being traded to the Hawks, Krejci will attempt to earn his spot in the rotation.... See More ... See Less
Hawks' Vit Krejci: Traded to Atlanta
Krejci (knee) was traded by the Thunder to the Hawks on Tuesday in exchange for Maurice Harkless and a second-round pick, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Krejci underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in April after presumably playing through the issue at the end of last season. After the All-Star break, the guard, drafted in 2020, appeared in 24 straight games for the Thunder and averaged 7.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 27.4 minutes per contest. He's expected to be healthy by the start of the season, but he'll face stiff competition for playing time, especially if he misses a large portion of training camp while rehabbing his knee.... Thunder's Vit Krejci: Opts for knee surgery
Krejci underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee last Tuesday, Nick Crain of SI.com reports.
Krejci was presumably playing through the knee issue late in the season, but the injury didn't deter the Thunder from giving the second-year guard as many minutes as he could handle down the stretch. From the All-Star break onward, Krejci appeared in all 24 of the Thunder's games, making eight starts while averaging 7.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 three-pointers in 27.4 minutes per contest. He should be back to full strength for training camp and will get the chance to compete for a spot in the Thunder's rotation to begin the 2022-23 campaign, but expect his playing time to take a significant hit with the likes of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (ankle), Josh Giddey (hip), Luguentz Dort (shoulder) and Tre Mann (hamstring) all expected to be 100 percent healthy.... Thunder's Vit Krejci: Sees plenty of action
Krejci put up 11 points (5-15 FG, 1-1 FT), eight assists, six rebounds and one block in Sunday's 117-96 victory over Phoenix.
Krejci led all players with 37 minutes played and finished with a season-high in assists. With the number of injuries to Oklahoma City's roster, the rookie has been on the court for 145 minutes in the past four games combined. While he hasn't shot the ball well in those games, Krejci has remained active as a playmaker and rebounder.... See More ... See Less
Thunder's Vit Krejci: First career double-double
Krejci posted 12 points (4-6 FG, 4-6 3Pt), 11 rebounds and two assists during Wednesday's 118-102 win over Orlando.
This was arguably Krejci's best performance of his career thus far, as he drained four threes and grabbed a career high off the glass to mark his first double-double. His 11 rebounds completely shattered his previous high of just six March 16 against the Spurs. Krejci has now scored in double figures in three contests this year.... See More ... See Less
Thunder's Vit Krejci: Plays 29 minutes in blowout
Krejci finished with 10 points (4-12 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal across 29 minutes in Monday's 131-110 loss to the Kings.
Krejci appeared in just five of the Thunder's 53 games prior to the All-Star break, but thanks to several guards/wings being sidelined with injuries, he's been able to pick up steady rotational minutes in each of the team's first three contests to begin the second half of the season. The rookie submitted his best fantasy line to date Monday, and the stat line would have looked even better had he not come up empty from downtown. Krejci is a player to monitor only in deep leagues at this time, and he could fall out of the rotation as soon as at least two of Kenrich Williams (knee), Ty Jerome (hip), Luguentz Dort (shoulder), Josh Giddey (hip) and Aaron Wiggins (ankle) are back in action.... Thunder's Vit Krejci: Sees substantial run
Krejci closed Thursday's 124-104 loss to Phoenix with eight points (3-4 FG, 2-2 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal across 21 minutes.
Appearing in his seventh NBA game, Krejci logged double-digit minutes for the first time -- receiving a healthy role off the bench. Even amid a blowout defeat, the playing time is a crucial step in the 21-year-old rookie settling into the rotation. He's a developmental project on a Thunder roster crowded with them....
