  • Timberwolves' Daishen Nix: Transferred to NBA club

Minnesota transferred Nix from the G League's Iowa Wolves to the Timberwolves on Monday. Minnesota is dealing with numerous absences before Monday's game in Utah, so Nix has been recalled and will provide emergency depth. However, he's made only 12 NBA appearances this season and has played double-digit minutes just once.

  • Timberwolves' Daishen Nix: Promoted to main roster

Nix was recalled from the G League's Iowa Wolves on Monday. Nix has logged just 21 total minutes across six appearances for Minnesota this season. The Minnesota backcourt is set to be fully healthy Tuesday, so Nix is unlikely to factor into the rotation.

  • Timberwolves' Daishen Nix: Returns to NBA

The Timberwolves transferred Nix to the NBA roster from the Iowa Wolves of the G League on Saturday. Nix is averaging 1.3 points in 3.5 minutes across his previous six NBA appearances this season. He is unlikely to receive significant minutes for Minnesota.

  • Timberwolves' Daishen Nix: Back to NBA

Minnesota transferred Nix to the NBA club from the G League's Iowa Wolves on Wednesday. Nix, Luka Garza, Josh Minott and Wendell Moore were all sent to the G League earlier Wednesday to presumably practice but have since returned to the NBA club. Nix has appeared in four NBA games this season but has yet to play more than three minutes in any contest.

  • Timberwolves' Daishen Nix: Transferred to NBA club

Minnesota transferred Nix to the NBA club from the G League's Iowa Wolves on Tuesday. Nix, Luka Garza, Leonard Miller, Josh Minott and Wendell Moore were all sent to the G League earlier Tuesday to presumably practice but have since returned to the NBA club. Nix has appeared in four NBA games this season but has yet to play more than three minutes in any contest.

  • Timberwolves' Daishen Nix: Inks two-way deal

The Timberwolves signed Nix to a two-way contract Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. After Minnesota released Matt Ryan, Nix was able to take his two-way spot. Nix has made 81 NBA appearances across two seasons with Houston but will split time between the NBA and G League in 2023-24.

  • Timberwolves' Daishen Nix: Joins Minnesota

Nix agreed to a one-year deal with the Timberwolves on Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Nix, who spent his first two seasons in the NBA with the Rockets, will continue his career in Minnesota, presumably joining the Timberwolves on an Exhibit 10 deal. He appeared in 57 games (seven starts) in 2022-23, averaging 4.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 16.0 minutes. He'll have an uphill battle to earn a spot on the Wolves' opening night roster.

  • Daishen Nix: Let go by Houston

The Rockets waived Nix on Thursday, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports. After drafting Amen Thompson and Jalen Green in back-to-back years, the Rockets now have an influx of guards. Nix struggled in his second season in Houston, averaging 4.0 points, 2.3 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 16.0 minutes across 57 appearances in 2022-23. However, his 34.2/28.6/66.7 shooting splits were alarming and likely resulted in his release.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Fails to score in 11 minutes

Nix notched zero points (0-4 FG, 0-3 3Pt), one rebound and two assists over 11 minutes during Sunday's 134-109 loss to the Lakers. Nix was a non-factor in the loss, continuing what has been an underwhelming stretch of games. He has failed to score in double figures since late February, despite the fact he has been a part of the rotation on most nights. While the Rockets are clearly building for the future, it is unlikely Nix features heavily in their long-term plans. His fantasy value is basically non-existent at this point.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Scores nine off bench

Nix recorded nine points (3-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 20 minutes during Friday's 151-114 loss to Memphis. Nix's minutes have been fairly low, but he was able to get a good chunk of minutes in garbage time Friday. The Rockets have a back-to-back set coming up starting Sunday, so he could be a candidate to see more minutes if the Rockets sit some veterans.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Heads back to bench

Nix will move back to the bench Saturday against the Bulls, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Kevin Porter (thigh contusion) is returning from a one-game absence, so there are no surprises here. Nix did not take advantage of his expanded opportunity Thursday versus Indiana, as he was held to six points on 25 percent shooting in 35 minutes.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Fails to deliver in start

Nix chipped in six points (3-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt), seven rebounds and two assists across 35 minutes before fouling out of Thursday's 134-125 overtime loss to Indiana. Nix moved into the starting lineup Thursday, replacing Kevin Porter, who was ruled out due to a thigh injury. Despite playing 35 minutes, Nix failed to come through with the goods. While TyTy Washington continues to bide his time on the bench, head coach Stephen Silas has thus far refused to shake up the team's rotation. As long as Nix continues to log meaningful minutes, he is at least worth a look in deeper formats.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Set to start against Indiana

Coach Stephen Silas said Nix is expected to be in the starting lineup for Thursday's game versus the Pacers, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Nix is slated to replace Kevin Porter (thigh) in the starting five Thursday despite not seeing any playing time in the last two games. Nix is averaging 6.8 points, 4.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 28.7 minutes across his previous six outings starting this season.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Rejoins reserves

Nix will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies, Jackson Gatlin of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Nix has rotated starts at the point guard spot with Kevin Porter (foot) out since Jan. 11 but will come off the bench in Porter's first game back. However, Porter will be under a rather severe minutes restriction Wednesday, so Nix should be expected to see 12-15 minutes off the bench but is not in fantasy consideration.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Scores 14 with five dimes

Nix recorded 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 0-1 FT) and five assists across 26 minutes during Tuesday's 133-112 loss to the Nuggets. Nix scored a season-high 16 points off the bench against the Trail Blazers on Sunday, and after he was rewarded with the start Tuesday, he posted a decent stat line while recording a second straight game with double-digit scoring figures. Nix could very well remain in the starting lineup when the Rockets take on the Grizzlies on Wednesday, but his long-term place in the first unit will be tied to the return date of Kevin Porter (foot).

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Gets starting nod

Nix is in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus the Nuggets, Jackson Gatlin of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Nix will replace TyTy Washington in the starting lineup Tuesday. Nix, a second-year guard, is averaging 5.4 points, 3.8 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 29.2 minutes across his previous five starts this season.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Scores season-high 16 points

Nix contributed 16 points (7-19 FG, 2-7 3Pt), one rebound, three assists and one steal in 30 minutes during Sunday's 131-114 loss to the Trail Blazers. Nix saw his most minutes since a Feb. 3 start and scored a season-high 16 points despite inefficient shooting. With Jalen Green (groin) joining Kevin Porter (foot) in street clothes the last two games, Nix has been elevated to the top guard off the bench behind TyTy Washington and Jae'Sean Tate. Nix should continue to play 20-plus minutes while Houston's top two guards are out, but due to his inconsistent shooting, he remains a risky play in most fantasy leagues. It's also expected that Porter and Green could be back on the floor for Houston within the next couple of games.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Back to bench

Nix isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Kings, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports. Nix drew a start in each of his team's last four contests due to the absence of Kevin Porter (foot), Jalen Green (calf) and Alperen Sengun (illness), but he'll return to a bench role Monday evening. Nix finished with three points, two rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes during his last contest off the bench Jan. 26 against Cleveland.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Starting Saturday

Nix will start Saturday's game against the Pistons, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Nix will make his second start of the season with the Rockets down Kevin Porter (foot), Jalen Green (calf) and Alperen Sengun (illness). In his prior start, Nix played 36 minutes but struggled, posting one point, one rebound, two assists, one steal and four turnovers.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Starting against Clippers

Nix will start at point guard in Sunday's game against the Clippers, Law Murray of The Athletic reports. He'll pick up his first start of the season while Houston is down of its top two guards for the day in Jalen Green (suspension) and Kevin Porter (foot). Meanwhile, forward Jae'Sean Tate, who had been seeing some run as a backup point guard of late, is also suspended for the contest. Look for the Rockets to rely on Nix and rookie TyTy Washington to handle most of the minutes at point guard Sunday, even though both players had been on the outside of head coach Stephen Silas' rotation.
