The Lakers recalled Lewis from their G League affiliate Wednesday, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.
Lewis and Jalen Hood-Schifino were both sent to the G League on Tuesday to practice with South Bay but returned to the NBA team Wednesday morning. Lewis has made 10 NBA appearances this season, but he played fewer than eight minutes in each of those contests.
Lewis notched 10 points (4-5 FG, 2-3 3PT), two rebounds and one assist in 15 minutes during Monday's 129-126 preseason win over the Nets.
Lewis was the No. 40 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and he certainly made a strong impression Monday night. The bad news is that the Lakers are loaded with quality frontcourt depth, so playing time won't be easy to come by. Lewis could spend time in the G League as a rookie and is currently more of a player to monitor in deeper, dynasty formats.
Lewis signed a four-year contract with the Lakers on Saturday.
The contract includes a team option for the 2026-27 season. Lewis, the 40th overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, is currently playing for the Lakers' Las Vegas Summer League entry and will look to carry over a strong showing in the desert into training camp. The Pepperdine product will most likely enter the 2023-24 campaign outside of the rotation and could end up seeing most of his initial opportunities in the G League with the South Bay Lakers.

Lewis was drafted by the Lakers with the No. 40 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
Lewis averaged 17.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 31 games at Pepperdine last season as a Sophomore while shooting 46/78/35. He's a three-level scorer with enough length to be a bothersome defender and is a high-upside selection for the Lakers.
