Wright totaled 11 points (4-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block over 23 minutes during Wednesday's 137-128 overtime victory over San Antonio. Wright only logged 23 out of 53 possible minutes during this overtime win, but there's no question he made his presence felt. The Colorado product has reached the 20-minute mark in each of his last three games, but he hasn't been a part of the Mavs' regular rotation when Kyrie Irving (foot) and Luka Doncic (thigh) are healthy. Dallas was also without Tim Hardaway (calf) on Wednesday.... See More ... See Less

Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Joins NBA rotation
Wright (illness) suited up and played 21 minutes off the bench Saturday in the Mavericks' 112-108 loss to the Grizzlies, finishing with four points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists and four rebounds. With both of the Mavericks' starting guards in Luka Doncic (thigh) and Kyrie Irving (foot) sitting out Saturday, Wright got the opportunity to make his first appearance with the NBA team since Feb. 15. The second-year guard, one of Dallas' two two-way players, had missed the G League's Texas Legends' most recent game Thursday against the Windy City Bulls due to an illness, but he looked healthy Saturday while slotting into the NBA rotation. Assuming Dallas gets one of Irving or Doncic back for Monday's game against the Grizzlies, however, Wright will likely move outside of the rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Doesn't play Thursday
Wright didn't play in Wednesday's 135-110 loss to the Windy City Bulls due to an illness. Wright is one of Dallas' two-way players and has split time between the G League and NBA this season. He is 19.0 points, 6.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 30.4 minutes across six games for the Legends.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Double-doubles in loss
Wright recorded 20 points (8-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 assists, six rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes during Monday's 135-128 loss to the Stars. Wright's game-high 12 assists helped him post his first double-double of the season Saturday. Despite losing, he recorded only one turnover and shot 8-of-10 from two-point range.... See More ... Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Flirts with triple-double
Wright tallied 26 points (8-19 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT), nine assists, seven rebounds and one block in 33 minutes during Friday's 123-122 loss to the Herd. Wright's nine assists were a team high in Friday's narrow loss. The two-way guard has split time between the Legends and Mavericks this season.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Shifts back to bench
Wright will return to the second unit for Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Law Murray of The Athletic reports. Wright made his first career start Monday with Luka Doncic (heel) out and the Spencer Dinwiddie for Kyrie Irving trade still being finalized but will rejoin the reserves with Irving active. Wright will battle with Frank Ntilikina and Jaden Hardy for backup point guard minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Making first career start
Wright will start Monday's contest against Utah. With Luka Doncic (heel) still out and Spencer Dinwiddie traded to Brooklyn, Wright will draw his first career start Monday. While the Colorado product has largely been out of Dallas' rotation this season, Wright appears in line to receive increased usage Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Will be available Sunday
Wright (foot) will be available to play Sunday against the Clippers. Wright missed Dallas' last two games with a right foot sprain and had been listed as questionable heading into Sunday, but he'll ultimately be able to suit up for the Mavericks' final contest of the week. Prior to suffering the injury, Wright had taken hold of a spot in head coach Jason Kidd's rotation as a backup point guard, but the second-year player is averaging just 7.7 minutes per contest in January.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Questionable Sunday
Wright (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Clippers. Wright has missed a pair of contests with a sprained right foot, and his availability remains up in the air for Sunday's tilt. The 24-year-old has earned a fringe rotation spot for the Dallas backcourt, and if he remains out, Frank Ntilikina and Jaden Hardy could see a few extra minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Won't play Friday
Wright (foot) won't take the court Friday against the Heat. Wright will miss his second consecutive tilt while battling a foot sprain, leaving the Mavs down some depth in the backcourt. He will now turn his sights toward Sunday against the Clippers for his next opportunity to rejoin the action.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Won't play against Atlanta
Wright is out for Wednesday's game versus the Hawks due to a right foot sprain. Wright's absence should free up playing time for Frank Ntilikina and Jaden Hardy. His next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with the Heat.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Plays career-high 23 minutes
Wright chipped in two points (1-1 FG, 0-1 FT), two rebounds, three assists and one steal over 23 minutes during Thursday's 129-114 win over the Rockets. Wright randomly logged a career-high 23 minutes in the victory, shifting up in the rotation due to the fact the Mavericks were without a handful of regular rotation pieces. Despite the unexpected opportunity, Wright failed to make the most of his uptick in playing time, registering very little in terms of tangible production. Simply put, there is no need to pay too much attention to this situation.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Returns to starting lineup
Wright recorded 15 points (6-16 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT) seven assists, two rebounds and two steals in 32 minutes during Friday's 112-105 loss to the Lakeland Magic. Without Jaden Hardy, Wright has returned to the starting lineup and assumed the role of primary creator. However, his inefficient scoring caused him to post a team-low negative-21 point differential.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Provides spark off bench
Wright tallied 21 points (8-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes during Saturday's 117-102 loss to the Hustle. Wright tied for the most points on the team while coming off the bench. Despite coughing up five turnovers, Wright was the only Legends player to post a positive point differential at plus-six.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Back in action in G League
Wright (illness) played 20 minutes and finished with six points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three assists and one rebound Friday in the G League Texas Legends' 129-121 win over the Austin Spurs. Wright, one of Dallas' two two-way players, made his first appearance in the NBA or G League since Nov. 26 after missing time with an illness. The second-year guard out of Colorado is expected to continue seeing most of his playing time with the Legends this season.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Misses game with illness
Wright didn't play in Tuesday's game against the Hustle due to illness. The Legends were without Wright and Jaden Hardy Tuesday, who was recalled to the NBA. However, Wright doesn't figure to miss an extended period due to his illness.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Posts double-double in loss
Wright tallied 19 points (7-16 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 15 assists, six rebounds and two steals in Friday's 117-114 loss to the Squadron. Wright continues to be the team's primary facilitator while having inconsistent efficiency. Wright did cough up five turnovers, but that is to be expected when tasked with high-volume shot creation.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Dishes out eight dimes
Wright recorded 29 points (13-20 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 0-1 FT), eight assists four rebounds and one steal in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 127-114 win over the Mexico City Capitanes. Wright took over primary distributor duties with Jaden Hardy (illness) out. Wright's combination of efficient scoring and creation for his teammates helped him post a plus-22 plus-minus rating.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Struggles from field
Wright posted nine points (4-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, and four assists in 26 minutes during Monday's 120-97 loss to the Mexico City Capitanes. Wright led the team in assists, as the entire team managed only 12. Wright's efficient scoring to start the season ended Monday, and he failed to make a three-pointer for the first time in 2022-23.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' McKinley Wright: Continues efficient scoring
Wright posted 22 points (8-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 32 minutes during Saturday's 129-103 win over the Birmingham Squadron. Wright led the team in assists but did also have four turnovers. Wright has scored at least 20 points in each of the team's first three games.... See More ... See Less

Mike Peasley@PeasRadio5H agoAn absolutely massive game tonight for the Mavs against Golden St tonight. A win and you’re in 6th and have the tiebreaker. Plus just 1 game out of 5th. A loss and you’re in 9th and just a half game from being out of the play in tournament altogether

Chuck Cooperstein@coopmavs3D agoThought that TCU-Gonzaga would be one of the best played games of the weekend. It totally lived up to its promise. TCU really missed the bulk of Lampkin in this game. Coles and Peavy tried, but just not enough bulk to handle Timme down low
