Claxton amassed 19 points (8-10 FG, 3-5 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and four blocks over 38 minutes during Saturday's 96-88 loss to the 76ers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Claxton took advantage of the fact Joel Embiid (knee) was missing, putting together a 19-and-12 double-double and adding a game-high four blocks. Despite the loss, Claxton put a bow on what has been a breakout season. He finished just outside of second-round value in nine-category formats, ending as the third-best shot blocker in the NBA, averaging 2.5 per game.... See More ... See Less

Nets' Nic Claxton: Ejected after second tech
Claxton has been ejected from Thursday's Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals after being assessed his second technical foul, Meghan Triplett of GrindCityMedia.com reports. Claxton stared down Joel Embiid after dunking on him early in the fourth quarter and received a technical foul, his second of the game, and will join James Harden as players ejected from the contest. Claxton played an integral role before his ejection for Brooklyn on Thursday, scoring 18 points (8-9 FG) to go with four rebounds while also limiting Embiid to just nine points. Day'Ron Sharpe and Royce O'Neale should handle center duties for the remainder of the contest.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Nic Claxton: Downgraded to out
Claxton (rest) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 76ers, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports. With Brooklyn locked into the No. 6 seed, Claxton and a majority of the Nets' regulars will sit out the regular-season finale. There's been no indication the hip injury will impact Claxton's availability during postseason play, but it has been a lingering issue over the last two weeks.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Nic Claxton: Questionable for Sunday
Claxton (rest) is questionable for Sunday's game against the 76ers, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports. Claxton is part of a lengthy injury report for Sunday's regular-season finale, joining Spencer Dinwiddie and Joe Harris as rest candidates while Seth Curry (ankle), Dorian Finney-Smith (wrist), Cameron Johnson (knee) and Royce O'Neale (knee) have been ruled out. If Claxton sits, Day'Ron Sharpe and Moses Brown would each handle significant workloads.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Nic Claxton: Posts double-double
Claxton logged 14 points (6-9 FG, 2-2 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals across 34 minutes during Friday's 101-84 win over the Magic. Claxton was efficient from the field and active on the glass, recording his seventh double-double across 19 games since the beginning of March. The Nets already locked up the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and are set to face the 76ers, so it wouldn't be surprising if Claxton receives in the Sunday regular-season finale where the team has nothing to play for. He's averaging 12.9 points and 10.0 rebounds per game since the beginning of March.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Nic Claxton: Posts stellar cross-category line
Claxton finished with 19 points (8-9 FG, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals across 36 minutes in Wednesday's 123-108 win over the Pistons. Claxton steamrolled the Pistons' starting frontcourt tandem of Jalen Duren and James Wiseman, putting up his best scoring total since March 12 with even greater efficiency than he usually provides while also recording five defensive counters. The Nets have a 1.5-game cushion over the Heat for the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, so if Miami can beat Philadelphia on Thursday, expect head coach Jacque Vaughn to hand Claxton and all the team's other starters their usual minutes in Brooklyn's next game Friday versus the Magic.... Nets' Nic Claxton: Hands out five assists
Claxton logged 14 points (6-7 FG, 2-4 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal across 27 minutes during Friday's 124-107 victory over Atlanta. Claxton is an underrated playmaker, as this was the sixth game of his career with at least five assists. He's been on quite a tear in fantasy, returning top-25 value in nine-category leagues over his past five games with 13.2 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 blocks on 68 percent shooting from the field.... Nets' Nic Claxton: Enjoys efficient night in post
Claxton amassed 18 points (8-10 FG, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 123-114 win over the Rockets. Claxton took advantage of his chances on the offensive end by hitting 80.0 percent of his tries from the field, resulting in his best scoring night since March 19 against Denver. He also recorded a double-double for the second time in three contests. Claxton has shown plenty of life on the offensive end so far in March, as he's put up double figures in the scoring column in 10 of 14 contests after doing so only four times over 10 February matchups.... Nets' Nic Claxton: Blocks four shots in loss
Claxton accumulated nine points (4-7 FG, 1-3 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, four blocks and one steal over 28 minutes during Sunday's 119-106 loss to Orlando. Claxton narrowly missed his fifth double-double of March (13 appearances), but he did block at least three shots for a seventh time during that stretch and for a third consecutive game. After being held scoreless in eight of nine matchups between the end of February and early March, the lefty center has bounced back by averaging 14.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.3 blocks over his last 10 games.... Nets' Nic Claxton: Double-doubles in win
Claxton accumulated 14 points (6-7 FG, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists and three blocks across 34 minutes during Saturday's 129-100 win over the Heat. Claxton notched his third double-double over his past six appearances and blocked three shots for a second consecutive matchup. He struggled to find rhythm following the trade deadline, but since returning from a one-game absence in mid-March, the lefty big man has regained his form, posting 14.3 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.9 blocks in 32.6 minutes over his past eight games.... Nets' Nic Claxton: Comes close to double-double
Claxton posted 11 points (4-10 FG, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal over 34 minutes during Thursday's 116-114 loss to Cleveland. Claxton struggled with his shot -- for his standards -- but still ended one rebound away from a double-double while also contributing defensively. Claxton remains a valuable fantasy asset and has been very consistent, scoring in double digits and grabbing at least eight boards in five straight games.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Nic Claxton: Holds own against Jokic
Claxton posted 19 points (9-12 FG, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 31 minutes during Sunday's 108-102 loss to the Nuggets. While Nikola Jokic delivered his usual triple-double for the Nuggets, Claxton put together a solid showing of his own for the Nets. The fourth-year center has scored in double digits in his last six games, averaging 15.7 points, 10.3 boards, 2.2 assists and 2.0 blocks over that stretch while shooting 74.1 percent from the floor.... Nets' Nic Claxton: Top rebounder in double-double
Claxton accumulated 14 points (6-11 FG, 2-2 FT), 14 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over 32 minutes during Thursday's 101-96 loss to Sacramento. Claxton led the Nets in rebounds while finishing as one of five Brooklyn players to tally 10 or more points in Thursday's defeat. Claxton has recorded a double-double in three of his last five outings.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Nic Claxton: Pops for 20 in Sunday's win
Claxton provided 20 points (8-9 FG, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal across 28 minutes during Sunday's 122-120 victory over the Nuggets. It's the fourth-year center's best scoring performance since he poured in 27 against the Pistons on Jan. 26. Claxton did see his streak of games with at least one block end at 11, but he's been a solid contributor since the All-Star break, averaging 10.2 points, 9.3 boards, 2.8 assists, 2.4 blocks and 1.2 steals over his last nine contests.... Nets' Nic Claxton: Off injury report
Claxton (Achilles, thumb) is off the injury report for Friday's game against the Timberwolves. Claxton -- and the rest of his teammates besides Ben Simmons (knee, back) -- is available on the second night of the Nets' back-to-back. Prior to his absence, Claxton was coming off his best performance since the departures of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, posting 18 points, 13 boards, four blocks, one assist and one steal in 29 minutes against the Rockets. The matchup is tougher Friday, as he'll be facing Rudy Gobert.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Nic Claxton: Out Thursday
Claxton is out for Thursday's game at Milwaukee due to a right thumb sprain and left Achilles tendinopathy, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports. Claxton is coming off his best scoring performance (18 points) since Jan. 26 (27 points) but emerged from that contest with injuries that will hold him out for at least one game. In his absence, we could see more Day'Ron Sharpe and Nerlens Noel.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Nic Claxton: Double-double with four blocks
Claxton accumulated 18 points (8-9 FG, 2-5 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist, four blocks and one steal in 29 minutes during Tuesday's 118-96 victory over Houston. Claxton was nearly perfect from the field but also left his mark at the defensive end, recording his third straight outing with 10-plus rebounds and multiple blocks. The big man also snapped a run of seven straight games in which he didn't reach the 10-point plateau.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Nic Claxton: Muted production continues
Claxton ended with nine points (3-7 FG, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one block over 23 minutes during Wednesday's 142-118 loss to the Knicks. Since returning from a hamstring injury to a team without Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, Claxton has averaged just 7.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.1 blocks, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals. While his defensive production remains impressive, his recent performances are a far cry from the 17.2 points, 11.6 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.4 assists he averaged from Jan. 15 through Feb. 7. Without the increased defensive attention placed on Irving and Durant, Claxton's life has become much more difficult.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Nic Claxton: Leads team in rebounds
Claxton logged four points (2-4 FG), nine rebounds and two blocks across 25 minutes during Wednesday's 116-105 win over the Heat. Claxton led the Nets on the boards during Wednesday's victory, but his mark was still below what he saw prior to the trade deadline. He's averaged 7.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 25.7 minutes per game over his three appearances following the trade deadline, down from his season averages of 12.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in 29.5 minutes per game. However, he missed last Thursday's game against the Bulls with a hamstring issue, so it's possible he's had some limitations recently. The 23-year-old will have over a week to rest during the All-Star break before the Nets face Chicago on Feb. 24.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Nic Claxton: Good to go against Sixers
Claxton (hamstring) will suit up for Saturday's game against the 76ers, Christian Arnold of Associated Press reports. Claxton was initially designated probable for the contest, so his upgrade to available doesn't arrive as a surprise. Claxton should reassume his starting role against Philadelphia, sending Day'ron Sharpe back to the bench.... See More ... See Less
