Jackson produced a season-high 37 points (14-20 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 8-11 FT) to go with 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 130-125 win over the Rockets. Jackson stepped up big time while Ja Morant missed the previous nine games, and even though the star point guard returned to action in a bench role Wednesday, Jackson didn't let off the gas. Over the last 10 games, Jackson is averaging 24.1 points, 6.9 boards, 1.9 blocks, 1.7 three-pointers, 1.3 assists and 0.9 steals while converting at a 53.5 percent rate from the field.... Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Another big offensive effort
Jackson provided 28 points (10-16 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 7-10 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one block over 23 minutes during Monday's 112-108 victory over the Mavericks. Jackson led Memphis with 28 points in the win, marking his fourth straight contest of 25 points or more -- the first time in his career he has accomplished that feat. Over the four-game stretch, he's averaging 28.0 points per contest on 60.3 percent shooting from the field. Jackson's output was especially impressive Monday because he battled foul trouble and played just 23 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Available Monday
Jackson (calf) is available for Monday's contest against Dallas, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. After being viewed as uncertain due to calf soreness, Jackson will officially suit up for his 19th consecutive appearance. The All-Star forward has recorded three straight games with at least 25 points, averaging 28.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.0 blocks across that stretch.... See More ... Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Questionable Monday
Jackson is questionable for Monday's game against the Mavericks due to left calf soreness. Jackson has been on a tear recently, averaging 28.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in 33.3 minutes per game over his last three appearances. If he's unavailable Monday, David Roddy and Santi Aldama would be candidates to see increased playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Tallies 31 points and four blocks
Jackson logged 31 points (12-22 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and four blocks in 29 minutes during Saturday's 133-119 win over the Warriors. Jackson was dominant in the victory, tying his season-high scoring mark with a strong shooting effort from the field. The big man didn't compromise his defensive effort, swatting four shots for the second straight night. Jackson has been on a roll over his past three games, averaging 28.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 1.0 steals over 33.3 minutes per contest.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Contributes at both ends
Jackson accumulated 28 points (12-20 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-7 FT), five rebounds, one assist, four blocks and one steal in 43 minutes during Friday's 126-120 overtime win over the Spurs. Jackson was efficient from the field and active on the defensive end, as he posted his 23rd game with at least four swats. One of the best shot blockers in the league, Jackson is averaging a career-best 3.1 swats per game, but he's also scoring 17.2 points and grabbing 6.6 rebounds per game, meaning he's more than just a rim protector.... Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Narrowly misses double-double
Jackson finished Wednesday's 138-119 loss to the Heat with 25 points (10-15 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-3 FT), nine rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block in 28 minutes. Jackson was one of Memphis' few bright spots in the team's blowout loss to Miami. He connected on at least four three-pointers for the first time since Feb. 15 and continued to put up elite numbers on the defensive end. Jackson leads the league in blocks per game at 3.1.... Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Rough night despite win
Jackson had seven points (2-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and one steal across 24 minutes during Monday's 104-88 win over the Mavericks. Jackson battled foul trouble throughout the game, ending with one of his worst performances of the season. Up against a Mavericks team without its superstars, the Grizzlies were never really troubled despite Jackson playing well below par. This was a real downer for anyone starting off a playoff week, especially given Jackson failed to record a block for the first time in over a month.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Carries load in loss
Jackson totaled 26 points (8-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 8-11 FT), eight rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 31 minutes during Tuesday's 112-103 loss to the Lakers. Jackson led the team in scoring by a wide margin. The frontcourt is doing a lot of the heavy lifting with Ja Morant (suspension) out. Jackson and Xavier Tillman should get increased consideration while Morant's absence continues.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Posts 24 points in loss
Jackson finished Sunday's 135-129 loss to the Clippers with 24 points (8-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals in 35 minutes. Jackson shared the rebounding duties with Xavier Tillman amid Steven Adams' (knee) continued absence and had a fairly efficient shooting night that included two three-pointers. He also converted six of seven three-throw attempts, lifting his season percentage to 78.9 percent.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Racks up four more blocks
Jackson produced 16 points (7-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, four blocks and one steal in 32 minutes during Tuesday's 121-109 victory over the Lakers. Jackson continues to be a dominating presence down low, as he has recorded exactly four blocks in three of his past four contests. Over the month of February, he swatted at least four shots in seven of his nine contests and averaged a hearty 3.6 swats per game. He's also been impactful in other ways, scoring at least 15 points in all but one of those outings while averaging 6.6 boards during the month.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Packs stat sheet
Jackson posted 18 points (5-16 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 7-7 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, four blocks and one steal across 33 minutes during Thursday's 110-105 loss to the 76ers. Jackson fell one rebound shy of a double-double and swatted away four shots for his second straight game. The Michigan State product has added serious value across the board in February for fantasy managers, averaging 19.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 3.9 blocks through seven appearances.... Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Dominates defensively in win
Jackson posted 26 points (8-19 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 6-7 FT), nine rebounds, five steals and four blocks across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 117-111 win over the Jazz. Despite getting off to a delayed start to the season, Jackson continues to make a strong case for NBA Defensive Player of the Year by continuing to pile up blocks and steals. The first-time All Star supplemented his excellent production on the defensive end Wednesday with a team-leading scoring total. The bounce-back performance was a welcome sight for Jackson, who lasted just 20 minutes in his last outing Sunday against the Celtics after fouling out.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Solid two-way effort again
Jackson racked up 18 points (7-17 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 4-7 FT), eight rebounds and four blocks over 32 minutes during Sunday's 106-103 loss to Toronto. Jackson needed 17 shots to score 18 points and missed all six of his three-point attempts, but he still salvaged his fantasy performance by putting up solid numbers as a rebounder and provided a strong defensive presence. This was his fourth straight game with multiple swats, and the first-time All-Star is averaging 16.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per contest over his last 10 appearances.... See More ... Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Officially available Sunday
Jackson (thigh) is available for Sunday's game against the Raptors. Jackson dealt with a sore right thigh ahead of Sunday's matchup, but he was expected to play and will officially be able to suit up against Toronto. Santi Aldama should retreat to a bench role with Jackson back on the court.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Expected to play
Jackson (thigh) is expected to play Sunday against Toronto, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. Jackson was rested on the second leg of a back-to-back on Thursday, but he's fully expected to return to the floor for Sunday's game, which will likely shift Santi Aldama back to the second unit. Feel free to put Jackson back in fantasy lineups right away.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Questionable to face Toronto
Jackson has been listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raptors due to right thigh soreness. Evan Barnes of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reported Jackson was moving well after practice Saturday, so it seems the questionable tag is a step in the right direction after the big man missed Thursday's contest against the Cavaliers. Jackson is averaging 19.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game across his last five outings.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Won't suit up Thursday
Jackson (thigh) will not take the floor Thursday against the Cavaliers, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports. Jackson was labeled doubtful leading up to the contest, so it's not a surprise to see that the big man will indeed miss the tilt. Santi Aldama is set to replace him in the starting lineup Thursday, while Jackson will turn his sights toward Sunday against Toronto for his next opportunity to take the floor.... See More ... Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Unlikely to play Thursday
Jackson is doubtful for Thursday's game against the Cavaliers due to right thigh soreness. Jackson hasn't missed a game since Dec. 5, but it appears likely that he'll be sidelined for the second half of a back-to-back set Thursday. Assuming he's unavailable, Santi Aldama, David Roddy and Ziaire Williams are candidates to see increased playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Six rejections against Blazers
Jackson posted 18 points (9-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt), seven rebounds and six blocks in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 122-112 loss to the Trail Blazers. The fifth-year forward continues to terrorize the opposition on the defensive end. Jackson has recorded five or more blocks in five of 13 games since the beginning of January and produced multiple rejections in 11 of them, averaging 16.5 points, 7.3 boards, 3.5 blocks, 1.5 threes and 1.0 steals over that stretch....
