  • Celtics' Jordan Schakel: Inks deal with Boston

The Celtics signed Schakel to a non-guaranteed training camp contract Wednesday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

Schakel split time between the NBA and G League in 2022-23, making just two appearances for the Wizards. Schakel will likely compete for a depth role if he's able to make the regular-season roster.

  • Jordan Schakel: Non-factor offensively

Schakel recorded three points (1-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt), four rebounds, three assists and one steal during Thursday's loss to Rio Grande Valley.

Although a non-factor offensively Thursday, Schakel managed to average 12.1 points across 50 G League appearances this campaign.

  • Jordan Schakel: Drops 20 points Saturday

Schakel managed 20 points (5-11 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal during Saturday's loss to the Stars.

Schakel finished with his best offensive performance since posting 20 points against Ontario on Feb. 3.

  • Jordan Schakel: Posts 20 points off bench

Schakel amassed 20 points (5-11 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, two steals and one assist during Friday's win over Ontario.

Schakel finished as the team's leading bench scorer on the strength of a superb performance from distance.

  • Jordan Schakel: Adds 22 points Sunday

Schakel tallied 22 points (7-12 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, two steals and one assist during Sunday's loss to Mexico City.

Schakel scored in double figures for a third straight game, as the forward also reached the 20-point mark for a first time since Jan. 9. Schakel is averaging 13.3 points during the 2022-23 campaign.

  • Jordan Schakel: Struggles from three

Schakel tallied nine points (3-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals during Tuesday's loss to the Hustle.

With a rough shooting outing from deep, Schakel failed to reach double figures offensively for the first time since Jan. 6 with the Go-Go.

  • Jordan Schakel: Makes first outing with Santa Cruz

Schakel posted 13 points (4-7 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds and one steal during Thursday's win over the Skyforce.

This was Schakel's first game with Santa Cruz after coming over from the Go-Go. Schakel has scored in double figures in three of the past four matchups.

  • Jordan Schakel: Scores 14 as starter Wednesday

    Schakel posted 14 points (5-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and a steal across 21 minutes in Wednesday's 128-103 win over Austin.

Schakel was one of four starters -- and seven players -- that scored in double digits for the Go-Go in this one-sided win, but there's a chance this might have been nothing more than an anomaly for Schakel based on previous performances. This has been the only time he's scored in double digits so far in the regular season.

  • Jordan Schakel: Goes for 21 points Friday

Schakel posted 21 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and an assist across 42 minutes in Friday's loss to Long Island.

Schakel has been one of Capital City's go-to players of late, especially considering how depleted the team has been in recent games due to its ongoing COVID-19 cases. Schakel has looked good this season and is averaging 16.1 points per game, which is an upgrade compared to the 14.1 points per contest he delivered in the 2021-22 campaign.

  • Jordan Schakel: Scores 23 points Wednesday

Schakel delivered 23 points (7-17 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, three assists and three steals across 39 minutes in Wednesday's 116-114 loss to Maine.

Schakel made his presence felt on both ends of the court for the Go-Go, but that shouldn't be a surprise since he's firmly established as a regular contributor on the team. The former San Diego State standout is averaging 14.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for Capital City.

  • Jordan Schakel: Waived by Wizards

The Wizards waived Schakel on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Washington signed Devon Dotson to replace Schakel as one of the two two-way players on the roster. Unless he's claimed by another team, Schakel should remain in the Wizards organization as a member of their G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go. Prior to being waived, Schakel made just two appearances with the NBA team, logging six minutes in total.

  • Wizards' Jordan Schakel: Struggles from field in win

Schakel had 11 points (4-13 FG, 3-9 3Pt), four rebounds and a steal across 30 minutes in Saturday's 119-110 win over the Blue Coats.

Schakel didn't have his best performance and the numbers back that up, as he ended up with more shots than total points, and he didn't contribute too much in other categories, either. However, he continues to be a decent scoring presence for Capital City, and he's now scored in double digits in three games in a row. The downside is the lack of efficiency, as he's gone just 20-for-52 from the field in his first four outings.

  • Wizards' Jordan Schakel: Scores 19 on 16 shots

Schakel delivered 19 points (6-16 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds, an assist and a block across 36 minutes in Sunday's win over Raptors 905.

Schakel only scored five points (2-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt) in the season opener against Toronto, but he bounced back admirably here even if he struggled from the floor once again. Efficiency aside, this was a performance that's more in line with what he did in 2021-22, a season in which he averaged 14.1 points per game while making 44.3 percent of his shots from the field.

  • Wizards' Jordan Schakel: Sees court in blowout

Schakel racked up no counting stats in one minute during Friday's 127-117 loss to the Pacers.

Schakel made his 2022-23 debut Friday, logging just a minute of run in the loss. The second-year wing spent most of last season in the G League with the Capital City Go-Go and will likely do the same this year.

  • Wizards' Jordan Schakel: Comes close to double-double

Schakel ended with 22 points (8-17 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block across 38 minutes in Thursday's overtime loss to Raptors 905.

Aside from ending just two rebounds away from posting a double-double, Schakel was one of the best scoring threats for the Wizards throughout the contest. Unfortunately, his efforts were not enough to pull the upset against Raptors 905 and the team was eliminated from playoff contention.

  • Wizards' Jordan Schakel: Fills stat sheet Saturday

Schakel delivered 19 points (6-15 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block across 37 minutes in Saturday's loss against Windy City.

Schakel was the leading scorer for the Go-Go in the regular-season finale, and he figures to play a big role in the postseason as well. He averaged 14.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in the regular season.

  • Wizards' Jordan Schakel: Scores team-high 23 points

Schakel recorded 23 points (8-13 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three assists, a rebound and a steal across 28 minutes in Friday's win over Lakeland.

Schakel was the only Capital City player that scored more than 20 points in the game, which is a bit shocking considering the Go-Go racked up 120 points in this win. The San Diego State rookie has now scored in double digits in five of his last six games following this performance.

  • Wizards' Jordan Schakel: Nabs two-way deal from Wizards

Schakel agreed Tuesday with the Wizards on a two-way contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

An undrafted rookie out of San Diego State, Schakel has thus far spent his entire rookie campaign in the Wizards organization. He joined Washington on an Exhibit 10 deal for training camp, then moved on to the Wizards' G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go, after being released prior to the start of the season. He got the chance to make his NBA debut in late December, making a pair of appearances for Washington on a 10-day hardship deal that the team was allotted due to a number of COVID-19-related absences on the roster. He's since reverted to the Go-Go, and he'll likely continue to see most of his action with the affiliate for the rest of the season despite now occupying one of the Wizards' two two-way slots. Washington will have to either release one of its current two-way players -- Joel Ayayi and Cassius Winston -- or upgrade one of them to the 15-man roster in order to facilitate Schakel's signing.
