  • Pelicans' Izaiah Brockington: Gets 10-day deal

Brockington signed a 10-day contract with New Orleans on Sunday, Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans reports. Brockington will fill the open spot on the Pelicans' 15-man roster after he averaged 13.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 40 games with New Orleans' G League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron. New Orleans is currently at full strength with the exception of Dyson Daniels (knee), so Brockington is unlikely to get a look in the rotation over the course of his 10-day deal.

The Pelicans signed Brockington earlier this week, but he was always considered a long shot to make the Opening Night roster.

Brockington signed with the Pelicans on Monday. The Pelicans waived Brockington from his two-way contract in late September, but he'll rejoin the team with just over a week remaining until the regular season. However, it seems unlikely that he'll make the Pelicans' final roster, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him end up in the G League once the 2023-24 campaign begins.
