  • Hawks' Trae Young: Strong performance despite loss

Young chipped in 30 points (9-28 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 8-8 FT), three rebounds, 10 assists, two blocks and one steal across 40 minutes during Thursday's 128-120 loss to the Celtics in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Young ended his season with another strong performance, capping off a postseason that somewhat salvaged a modest season. The Hawks remain in limbo when it comes to direction and team construction, with a couple of questions yet to be answered. On paper, they have a roster that can certainly compete on any given night, and yet they struggled to even make the postseason.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Cold-blooded performance Tuesday

Young recorded 38 points (14-33 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, 13 assists and two steals in 44 minutes during Tuesday's 119-117 victory over the Celtics in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Young put the Hawks on his back, carrying them to an improbable victory in front of a vocal Boston crowd. Young capped off an incredible individual performance, nailing the game-winning three-pointer with just 1.8 seconds remaining. Dejounte Murray (suspension) will return for Thursday's Game 6 in Atlanta. Down 3-2 in the series, Young and the Hawks will look to maintain their momentum and send it to a Game 7.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Stellar performance not enough

Young produced 35 points (11-26 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 9-11 FT), three rebounds, 15 assists and two steals in 41 minutes during Sunday's 129-121 loss to Boston in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Young posted his most points and assists of the series while also recording multiple steals for a third time over four games. Across the last two matchups in Atlanta, the All-Star point guard averaged 33.5 points, 12.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks. He posted just 20.0 points and 7.0 assists during the first two games in Boston, so he'll likely have to be better on the road during Tuesday's Game 5 if the Hawks want to avoid elimination.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Scores game-high 32 points

Young totaled 32 points (12-22 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds, nine assists, two blocks and one steal over 37 minutes during Friday's 130-122 win over the Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Young did a bit of everything in the victory, leading all scorers with 32 points while adding three combined steals and blocks. In front of a vocal home crowd, Young was engaged from the opening tip, carrying the team to a much-needed win. The two teams will remain in Atlanta for Game 4 Sunday, where Young will look to ride this momentum and level things up at 2-2.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Struggles massively in Game 1

Young accumulated 16 points (5-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and two steals across 35 minutes during Saturday's 112-99 loss to the Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Young didn't perform well and ended up with more field-goal attempts (18) than points scored (16) while also struggling badly from deep. The Hawks may need Young to be at his best if they want to have a chance of at least keeping the games close in this series, but performances like this won't make the cut against a superior team such as Boston.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: All-around showing as top scorer

Young ended Tuesday's 116-105 Play-In Tournament victory over the Heat with 25 points (8-18 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 8-9 FT), eight rebounds and seven assists across 37 minutes. Young led all Hawks players in scoring, assists and shots made while posting a team-high-tying minute total in an all-around showing during the important victory. Young, who set a season-high rebound total, has finished with at least 25 points, five rebounds and five assists on 12 occasions this season, though Tuesday's numbers won't count toward his regular-season total.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Good to go for Tuesday

Young (groin) isn't listed on the Hawks' injury report for Tuesday's Play-In matchup against the Heat. Young sat out Atlanta's regular-season finale due to right groin soreness, but as expected, he's good to go for the team's first postseason game. Across 73 regular-season appearances, the fifth-year point guard averaged 26.2 points and a career-high 10.2 assists per game.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Sitting out Sunday

Young will not play in Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Celtics due to right groin soreness. Young is getting the regular-season finale off to rest up and be 100 percent for the Hawks' Play-In Tournament game Wednesday to claim the seventh seed in the East. With both Young and Dejounte Murray (groin) sitting, Aaron Holiday could draw the start at point guard, and Vit Krejci and Trent Forrest could be candidates to see some run.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Huge double-double in loss

Young totaled 27 points (7-14 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 12-14 FT), three rebounds, 20 assists and four steals over 43 minutes during Friday's 136-131 overtime loss to Philadelphia. Young tallied a career-high 20 assists Friday, adding a team-high 27 points in a disappointing loss. Despite coming up against a 76ers team minus all of their starters, the Hawks fumbled their way to a five-point loss, not the kind of performance the fans want to see on the eve of the playoffs. As for Young, he continues to put together another strong fantasy season, although chances are he would trade in his production for team success, which has been a struggle despite their roster.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Racks up 16 dimes Wednesday

Young (illness) finished with 25 points (4-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 16-18 FT), 16 assists and two rebounds across 39 minutes during Wednesday's 134-116 victory over the Wizards. Young missed Tuesday's 123-105 win over the Bulls due to an illness, but he was cleared in advance of the second half of the back-to-back set Wednesday and came out firing. He didn't make much of an impact with his perimeter shooting, but he got to the line early and often and was highly efficient. He also excelled as a facilitator once again and is now averaging 11.0 dimes per game over his last four contests, which has helped him offset a poor 31.3 percent mark from the field over that stretch.

Young (illness) is available for Wednesday's game against the Wizards, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports. Before he was sidelined, the All-Star point guard averaged 21.6 points and 9.0 assists over his previous seven appearances.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Downgraded to out

Young (illness) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Bulls, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports. Young remains under the weather and has been downgraded from questionable to out. His status for the second half of Atlanta's current back-to-back set Wednesday versus Washington remains unclear, but at best, he can presumably be considered questionable. In his absence, Bogdan Bogdanovic could move into the starting lineup, but Aaron Holiday, AJ Griffin, Vit Krejci and Trent Forrest are also candidates for increased minutes.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Questionable Tuesday

Young is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Bulls due to a non-COVID illness, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Young hasn't missed a game since early February but is dealing with an illness ahead of Tuesday's matchup against Chicago. Aaron Holiday and Vit Krejci could see some minutes if Young is unavailable.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Struggles from field

Young racked up 10 points (3-12 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and six assists across 32 minutes during Friday's 124-107 loss to the Nets. That's two duds in a row for Young, as he was held to 16 points on 26 percent shooting in his previous outing. His fantasy value has been trending in the wrong direction for much longer, particularly in category leagues, as he's shooting 41 percent over the past 10 games and is averaging 4.0 turnovers.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Double-double against Cavs

Young finished Tuesday's 120-118 win over the Cavaliers with 16 points (4-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 6-9 FT), one rebound, 10 assists and one steal over 36 minutes. While Young had a poor shooting night, he was still able to contribute his second straight double-double and his 37th of the season, tying him for seventh in the NBA with Joel Embiid. Through 14 games in March, Young is averaging 24.2 points, 9.3 assists, 3.4 boards, 2.4 threes and 1.3 steals as the Hawks try to lock up a postseason berth and potentially even climb out of the play-in tournament.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Ejected for throwing ball at ref

Young was ejected during the third quarter of Saturday's game against the Pacers for forcefully throwing the ball at a referee, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Young finished with 14 points (6-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists, three rebounds and one steal in 21 minutes. Young was upset about an offensive foul call, which prompted him to fire the ball at the referee responsible. With the incident, the point guard is now at 15 technical fouls for the season, meaning he'll be automatically suspended for one game if he racks up another tech. Aaron Holiday should pick up some extra minutes in the second half of Saturday's matchup.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Good to go Saturday

Young (calf) will suit up for Saturday's game versus the Pacers. Young was initially listed as questionable on the Hawks' injury report, but the star guard's calf looks to be doing well enough for him to give it a go in the front end of the back-to-back set Saturday and Sunday. While Young will join in on the festivities Saturday, it will also be worth monitoring his status ahead of Sunday's clash with the Grizzlies.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Questionable for Saturday

Young is questionable for Saturday's game against the Pacers due to a left calf contusion, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Young is in danger of missing his first game since Feb. 4, but his potential absence could simply be a maintenance day with the Hawks' set for a back-to-back this weekend. The severity of the calf issue remains unclear, but he appeared fine during Wednesday's one-point loss to Minnesota, totaling 29 points (6-16 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 14-16 FT), eight assists, two rebounds and a steal in 32 minutes.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Comes close to double-double

Young closed Wednesday's 125-124 loss to Minnesota with 29 points (6-16 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 14-16 FT), eight assists, two rebounds and one steal over 32 minutes. Playing without backcourt mate Dejounte Murray (illness) for the second game in a row, Young maintained a lofty 38.7 percent usage rate, more than five points above his season-long number. The increased touches allowed Young to post a gaudy line, though it came with inefficient shooting from the field. Young is in the midst of a solid run of play in which he's scored at least 25 points in all but one of his last nine outings, while shooting a magnificent 43.9 percent from downtown.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Big double-double against Detroit

After scoring just nine points in Sunday's loss to the Spurs, Young bounced back to reach the 30-point mark for the third time in the last five games. He's also dished double-digit assists six times in 10 March contests, averaging 25.2 points, 9.7 assists, 4.0 boards, 2.5 threes and 1.5 steals so far on the month.
