Brown notched 18 points (7-13 FG, 4-9 3Pt), six rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals in 32 minutes during Sunday's 118-108 loss to the Bulls. This may have been the end of the 23-year-old's run in the starting five, as LeBron James returned from his foot injury Sunday and played 30 minutes off the bench, but if it is, Brown went out with a solid performance as he led all Lakers' starters in scoring. He's been a useful rotation piece for L.A. this season, but Brown's fantasy value was erratic even in his expanded role -- he scored in double digits in only five of 14 starts during this latest stretch.... Lakers' Troy Brown: Scores 12 points in win
Brown finished with 12 points (4-8 FG, 4-8 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists across 29 minutes in Sunday's 111-105 win over the Magic. Brown hit double figures in scoring for the first time since March 7, but he barely met that threshold and did so while offering little else across the stat sheet. The Lakers seem to value him on the starting unit for his defense and spot-up shooting, but he'll likely struggle to crack 15 percent usage in most games while sharing the floor with the likes of Anthony Davis and D'Angelo Russell.... Lakers' Troy Brown: Does little in starting role
Brown accumulated three points (0-8 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds and four assists over 28 minutes during Sunday's 112-108 loss to the Knicks. Were it not for Brown's free throws, he would have gone scoreless on the night. Brown missed all eight of this shot attempts, a trend that we've witnessed often this season. Somehow, he's managed a 42.9 percent conversion rate this season despite some awful shooting performances.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Tallies three steals
Brown had eight points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists and three steals in 25 minutes during Friday's 110-102 loss to Minnesota. Brown turned in a modest scoring night but made the most of his limited chances from the field. He notched his best rebounding night since Feb. 11 and tied his season high with three steals. Brown has been held to single figures in the scoring column in five of his last six matchups, averaging 7.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals over this stretch.... See More ... Lakers' Troy Brown: Season high in scoring
Brown registered 19 points (7-10 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, four assists, two blocks and one steal in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 123-117 win over the Thunder. Brown's efficient scoring helped him record a season-high 19 points. The 23-year-old forward is averaging 8.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 27.5 minutes across his 33 starts in 2022-23. Brown will likely continue to start in LeBron James' (foot) absence.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Gets starting nod
Brown is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game versus Memphis, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Brown will replace LeBron James (foot) in the starting five Tuesday. The 23-year-old forward is averaging 8.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 27.3 minutes across his 31 starts this season.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Joins second unit
Brown will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Brown saw three consecutive starts with LeBron James (foot) sidelined, but will shift back to the bench Wednesday with James active. In 21 games off the bench this season, Brown averaged 5.4 points and 3.3 rebounds across 19.9 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Starting Thursday
Brown will start Thursday against the Bucks, Harrison Faigen of SBNation.com reports. With LeBron James (foot) not playing Thursday, Brown will step into the starting small forward role for the Lakers. Expect Lonnie Walker and Austin Reaves to see minutes off the bench in relief of Brown.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Settling into bench role
Brown provided nine points (4-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt), six rebounds, one assist and one steal in 22 minutes in Tuesday's 133-130 loss to the Thunder. With the Lakers recently installing trade pickup Rui Hachimura as their new starting power forward, Brown moved to the bench last week and has seen a drop in playing time. In his three games since transitioning to a second-unit role, Brown is averaging 8.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.3 three-pointers, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals in 23.7 minutes per contest. Brown might be able to maintain that playing time over the rest of the season, but he won't warrant attention outside of deeper leagues.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Coming off bench Thursday
Brown will come off the bench Thursday against the Pacers, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. After starting the past 10 games and averaging 7.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 29.0 minutes, Brown will move to the bench while coach Darvin Ham starts newly acquired Rui Hachimura at forward next to LeBron James. Brown should remain in the rotation, but the Lakers could be getting Austin Reaves (hamstring) back as soon as Saturday, which could bring Brown's minutes down further.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Start yields nothing Saturday
Brown finished with two points (1-7 FG, 0-5 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist over 27 minutes during Saturday's 125-121 overtime loss to the Celtics. Brown remained in the starting lineup Saturday but once again failed to deliver. He has now started in eight straight games, logging 27.9 minutes per game. However, in that time he has been nothing more than a top-160 player, offering upside in turnovers and free throw percentage, barely. There is no reason to be holding him in any 12-team leagues, and even managers in deeper formats would be better off streaming his spot.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Cleared to play
Brown (quadriceps) is available to play Monday against Houston and will start, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Brown was previously listed as probable on the injury report due to left quad soreness, so this news comes as no surprise. He's averaging 8.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.5 steals through four games in January, and he's set to make his second straight start with Lonnie Walker (knee) sidelined.... See More ... Lakers' Troy Brown: Late addition to injury report
Brown is probable for Monday's matchup against the Rockets due to left quadricep soreness, Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times reports. Brown was a late addition to the injury report with a quad injury, but it appears the issue isn't severe and likely won't sideline him Monday. If that's the case, he'll presumably return to a reserve role after drawing a spot start Sunday, as Patrick Beverley (illness) is expected to reclaim his starting spot. However, Brown figures to still see a sizable role off the bench with Austin Reaves (hamstring) and Lonnie Walker (knee) still out.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Draws start against Philadelphia
Brown is starting Sunday's game against the 76ers, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Brown returned from a three-game absence Thursday against the Mavericks but saw plenty of run off the bench, logging eight points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal in 38 minutes during the double-overtime loss. He'll draw the start for the shorthanded Lakers on Sunday while Max Christie retreats to the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Quiet despite hefty run in return
Brown amassed eight points (3-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 38 minutes during Thursday's 119-115 double-overtime loss to the Mavericks. Brown returned from a three-game absence due to a strained quad and logged a season-high 38 minutes. However, the substantial workload didn't result in big numbers, as he took just eight shots and didn't do much in terms of peripheral stats. Brown was a starter earlier in the campaign, but he's come off the bench in 16 of his past 18 appearances and doesn't have much fantasy value given his lack of production this season.... See More ... Lakers' Troy Brown: Gets green light
Brown (quadriceps) has been cleared to play Thursday against Dallas, Kyle Goon of The Orange County Register reports. Brown was listed as probable earlier in the day on the Lakers' injury report, so this update comes as no surprise. He'll be available off the bench after missing his team's last three contests.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Likely to play against Dallas
Brown (quadriceps) is probable for Thursday's game versus the Mavericks, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports. Brown is expected to play Thursday after missing the previous three games with a left quadriceps strain. His return will likely result in fewer minutes for Max Christie and Kendrick Nunn.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Ruled out Monday
Brown (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Nuggets, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Brown was questionable ahead of Monday's matchup and will be forced to miss a third consecutive game due to a quadriceps injury. He'll have a few days to rest before the Lakers face Dallas on Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Questionable to face Denver
Brown (quadriceps) is questionable to play Monday against the Nuggets, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports. Brown has missed two games in a row due to a quadriceps issue, and it sounds as if he'll be a game-time call for this one as well. His potential return shouldn't affect many fantasy rosters, however. Brown is logging just 18.5 minutes per game over his past 10 appearances (two starts).... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Troy Brown: Out Saturday
Brown (quadriceps) is out Saturday against the Kings, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Brown will miss a second straight game due to a strained left quad. Juan Toscano-Anderson will likely get another start at small forward.... See More ... See Less
