Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Productive despite blowout
Ivey racked up 20 points (7-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and one steal over 41 minutes during Friday's 118-97 loss to the Raptors.
Ivey had one of his better all-around performances in recent memory, falling two assists short of a double-double while shooting efficiently from both the field and the charity stripe. While the Pistons are clearly going all-in on their quest for the number one pick, Ivey appears as though he will maintain a substantial role ROS, barring injury. He is someone who should be rostered in most formats, although his limited overall upside does mean he is better suited to fantasy managers seeking points and assists.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Scores 14 points in return
Ivey logged 14 points (4-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-8 FT), two rebounds and six assists across 35 minutes during Thursday's 119-100 loss to the Nuggets.
Ivey returned after missing the previous three games, logging a team-high 35 minutes. While the production was serviceable, at best, the fact he played so many minutes bodes well for his immediate future. The Pistons continue to mess with their rotation on a nightly basis in an apparent attempt to play even worse than they have been. However, there is a chance Ivey can avoid the shenanigans, making him a must-roster player across most formats.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Good to go Thursday
Coach Dwane Casey said Ivey (COVID-19) went through shootaround and will play in Thursday's game versus the Nuggets, Mike Curtis of The Detroit News reports.
Ivey will return from this three-game absence Thursday while in health and safety protocols. However, Casey also mentioned that the rookie guard won't play big minutes, so fantasy managers should expect him to play fewer than his 30.2 average.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Likely to play against Denver
Ivey (COVID-19 protocols) is probable for Thursday's game versus the Nuggets.
Ivey is expected to return Thursday after missing the previous three games while in health and safety protocols. He will likely replace either Killian Hayes or R.J. Hampton in the starting five against Denver.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Out Tuesday
Ivey (COVID-19 protocols) is out for Tuesday's matchup against the Wizards.
The rookie guard will miss a third straight game while in health and safety protocols. With Cory Joseph (illness) questionable and Alec Burks (foot) out in the backcourt, more minutes should be available for R.J. Hampton and Rodney McGruder.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Remains out
Ivey (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup against the Pacers.
Ivey will miss a second straight game due to COVID-19 protocols. Monday's matchup is the first half of a back-to-back set, so it's possible the rookie guard remains sidelined Tuesday as well. Alec Burks (foot) is also out Monday, so R.J. Hampton, Rodney McGruder and Cory Joseph are all candidates for increased roles versus Indiana.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Out due to protocols
Ivey was placed in the league's health and safety protocols Friday and will not play Saturday against the Pacers.
The absences keep coming for the Pistons, who are running out a skeleton crew with just under a month left of the regular season. Ivey has been quite healthy this season, missing just one game after Dec. 1 and averaging 15.1 points, 5.1 assists and 3.5 boards since then. In his absence, bigger roles could be handed to Cory Joseph, R.J. Hampton and Rodney McGruder.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Double-double in Tuesday's loss
Ivey accumulated 26 points (9-20 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 12 assists, five rebounds and one steal over 32 minutes during Tuesday's 119-117 loss to the Wizards.
The rookie now has two straight double-doubles and three in his last five games as he continues to take over primary ballhandling duties in the Pistons' banged-up backcourt. Since the beginning of February, Ivey is averaging 16.5 points, 6.2 assists, 3.2 boards and 1.8 threes.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Double-double against Blazers
Ivey closed Monday's 110-104 loss to Portland with 13 points (4-14 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 13 assists, five rebounds and one steal over 31 minutes.
It's the sixth double-double of the season for the rookie guard, although Ivey's production paled in comparison to Damian Lillard's triple-double. Ivey has scored in double digits in a remarkable 25 straight games to begin 2023, averaging 15.4 points, 5.7 assists, 3.7 boards and 1.5 threes over that stretch as he solidifies his spot as a key part of Detroit's rebuild.... Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Rough shooting night Saturday
Ivey posted 10 points (4-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes during Saturday's 114-90 loss to Cleveland.
Ivey struggled to find any rhythm on the offensive end, something that has plagued him throughout his rookie season. Despite averaging 15.3 points and 4.6 assists per game, Ivey currently sits well outside the top 250 in nine-category leagues. While he can be rostered in 12-team formats, his deficiencies make him a risky long-term asset.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Left off injury report
Ivey (personal) isn't on the injury report for Wednesday's game versus Chicago.
Despite missing Monday's game and Tuesday's practice due to personal reasons, Ivey is set to play Wednesday. The rookie guard will likely replace Alec Burks in the starting lineup against the Bulls.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Still not with team
Ivey (personal) didn't practice Tuesday, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Ivey was absent for Monday's loss to Charlotte due to personal reasons and missed practice Tuesday, but it's unclear if he'll return to the team in time for Wednesday's matchup against the Bulls. He was one of five players to miss practice, so the Pistons may have a skeleton crew available versus Chicago, depending on how the availabilities shake out.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Out Monday for personal matter
Ivey is listed as out for Monday's game against the Hornets due to personal reasons.
The Pistons haven't indicated whether Ivey has a timeline to rejoin the team, so he'll sit out Monday and can be viewed as day-to-day leading up to Detroit's second game of the week Wednesday versus the Bulls. While the rookie is out of the lineup Monday, Alec Burks and Hamidou Diallo could be the primary candidates to step into a starting role in the backcourt alongside point guard Killian Hayes. R.J. Hampton, who played five minutes in his Detroit debut in Saturday's loss to the Raptors, could also take on an expanded role off the bench.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Dishes out 10 assists
Ivey closed with 10 points (3-16 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, 10 assists and one block across 32 minutes during Saturday's 95-91 loss to the Raptors.
Ivey had a rough night from the field and was unable to convert from beyond the arc, but he still managed to secure a double-double by tallying 10 assists. This marks his first double-digit assist total since Jan. 23 against Milwaukee. Ivey figures to bounce back on the offensive end after a slow night, as he's averaging 17.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists in his last five matchups.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Leads contest with 25 points
Ivey racked up 25 points (9-13 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds, four assists and one block over 31 minutes during Thursday's 108-106 loss to the Magic.
Ivey had a terrific night shooting the ball, knocking down four of five field-goal attempts for 13 points in the first half before going 5-of-8 over the final two quarters to finish with a game-high 25 points. The point guard also connected on a season-high five three-pointers in the contest off just seven attempts, and he's now shooting 47.4 percent from beyond the arc in February. It was Ivey's ninth time this season breaking the 20-point mark, and he's now scored at least 17 in four straight.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Has strong first half
Ivey amassed 17 points (7-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal in 26 minutes during Wednesday's 127-109 loss to Boston.
Ivey got off to a hot start with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting in the first half. However, the point guard would add just four more points after the break, along with four assists, one rebound and a steal as the Pistons suffered their fourth straight road loss. He's now scored at least 17 points in three straight contests and has shot above 50 percent in three of his last four.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Shows improved efficiency Sunday
Ivey finished Sunday's 119-118 loss to the Raptors with 18 points (6-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven assists and two rebounds in 27 minutes.
Despite playing 17 fewer minutes than he did two days earlier in a double-overtime win over the Spurs, Ivey came through with a better all-around fantasy performance due to largely to the fact that he went from 3-for-15 shooting from the field to 6-for-11. Ivey's 41.8/72.8/33.5 percent shooting splits for the season suggest that he can't be counted on to produce his offense as efficiently as he did Sunday, but it's at least encouraging to see that the rookie has been able to continue producing assists since moving to an off-ball role following Killian Hayes' re-entry into the starting group. In the three games since Hayes moved back to the top unit, Ivey has averaged 5.3 assists.... See More ... See Less
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Strong, yet inefficient performance
Ivey registered 17 points (3-15 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 11-12 FT), eight rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 44 minutes during Friday's 138-131 double-overtime victory over the Spurs.
Ivey cobbled together a well-rounded performance Friday, although his efficiency remains an issue. Despite a consistent role, he is currently shooting just 41.6 percent for the season, keeping him well outside the top 200 in nine-category formats. While he is a viable asset in standard eight-category formats, managers need to be aware of his flaws, given that they could significantly impact your team's overall production.... See More ... Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Inefficient scoring night
Ivey supplied 13 points (5-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-5 FT), six assists and three steals in 33 minutes during Saturday's 116-100 loss to the Suns.
After a couple games of excellent shooting, Ivey came back down to earth, returning to his typical inefficient scoring, which included some poor free-throw shooting. He did extend his double-digit scoring streak to 15 games, and his three steals were a welcome return after he failed to record any in his last two outings. On the season, the rookie guard is averaging 15.2 points, 4.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game.... See More ... See Less
