  • 76ers' De'Anthony Melton: Still without clear return date

Head coach Nick Nurse said Monday that he had no update on the status of Melton, who hasn't played since Feb. 27 due to lumbar spine bone stress, Derek Bodner of AllPHLY.com reports.

Melton is scheduled to be re-evaluated in the coming days once his two-week off-loading period concludes, but his return doesn't appear to be imminent. Nurse mentioned within the past two days that the other two 76ers players dealing with long-term injuries -- Joel Embiid (knee) and Robert Covington (knee) -- have resumed non-contact on-court work, so both are seemingly closer to playing than Melton at this point. With the growing likelihood that his absence will stretch into April, Melton isn't worth holding in the majority of redraft leagues.

  • 76ers' Tobias Harris: Won't play Monday

Harris (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Heat, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.

Harris didn't participate in the 76ers' morning shootaround and will be unavailable for a second consecutive game due to a right ankle sprain. However, coach Nick Nurse said before Monday's game that he expects Harris to return soon and that the forward will travel with the 76ers on their upcoming West Coast road trip, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports. Nicolas Batum could handle a starting role once again, while Harris' next chance to play will be Wednesday against Phoenix.

  • 76ers' Tobias Harris: Misses morning shootaround

Harris (ankle), who is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Heat, didn't participate in morning shootaround, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.

Harris also missed Sunday's practice, so he looks to be trending toward getting ruled out for a second straight game. If that's the case, Nicolas Batum could be in line for another start, and likely, a 30-plus-minute role.

  • 76ers' Kai Jones: Dealing with hamstring strain

Jones has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Heat due to a right hamstring strain.

Jones signed a 10-day deal with the 76ers on Friday but was sent to the G League to start his Philly tenure. He played well in two games for the Delaware Blue Coats but appears to have suffered an injury in his latest appearance. Jones' next chance to make his 76ers debut comes Wednesday in Phoenix, but the severity of the injury remains unclear.

  • 76ers' Tobias Harris: Questionable for Monday

Harris (ankle) is questionable for Monday's game against Miami.

After not practicing Sunday, Harris appears more likely than not to miss his second straight contest Monday. In Saturday's 109-98 win over the Hornets, Nicolas Batum replaced Harris in the starting five and finished with eight points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals, two three-pointers and two blocks in 37 minutes.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Limited at practice, no timetable

Coach Nick Nurse said Embiid (knee) participated in parts of the 76ers' non-contact practice Sunday, but the center remains without a timetable for a return, Lauren Rosen of the 76ers' official site reports.

Embiid continues to progress in his rehab from Feb. 6 surgery to address a left meniscus injury, and his ability to take part in basketball activities would seem to represent a major step forward in his recovery. However, the big man will likely miss several more games, as he'll presumably need to regain his conditioning after being cleared for contact work. The Sixers have fallen into the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament during Embiid's absence, and they'll likely remain there if he doesn't return to game action soon.

  • 76ers' Robert Covington: Ramping up, still no timetable

Covington (knee) remains out for Monday's game against the Heat, but he took part in some non-contact on-court work following Sunday's practice and is ramping up for a return to game action, Gina Mizell of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Covington has been sidelined for two-plus months due to a bone bruise in his knee, but he may finally be closing in on a return to action. He'll likely miss at least a few more games, given that he's yet to be cleared for full-contact drills.

  • 76ers' Tobias Harris: Sits out practice Sunday

Harris (ankle) was unable to practice Sunday in advance of Monday's game against Miami, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Harris appears at risk of missing his second consecutive game Monday due to a right ankle sprain. In his absence Saturday, Kelly Oubre logged 34 minutes while Nicolas Batum logged a whopping 37 minutes. The two would be largely responsible for replacing Harris' minutes if he sits out again Monday.

  • 76ers' Kai Jones: Promoted to Philadelphia

Philadelphia recalled Jones from the G League's Delaware Blue Coats on Saturday.

Jones gets a fast-track call-up to Philadelphia after posting 21 points on 64.3 percent shooting across two G League appearances. The lottery pick from the 2021 Draft is unlikely to settle into a relevant role, but he brings a level of bounciness and rim-running that Mo Bamba and Paul Reed cannot replicate.

  • 76ers' Nicolas Batum: Busy on defense in Saturday's start

Batum accumulated eight points (3-7 FG, 2-6 3Pt), eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and three steals over 37 minutes during Saturday's 109-98 win over Charlotte.

It was a vintage performance from Batum, who at his peak a decade ago was a consistent multi-category contributor without being a primary offensive threat. The 35-year-old forward was getting the start with Tobias Harris (ankle) sidelined, but Harris' injury isn't thought to be serious. Batum has played at least 20 minutes in his last nine games, but he's averaged just 4.8 points, 5.3 boards, 2.3 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.9 threes and 0.8 blocks over that stretch while shooting a poor 30.6 percent from the floor and 23.5 percent from beyond the arc.

  • 76ers' Kelly Oubre: Churns out 22 in Saturday's win

Oubre contributed 22 points (8-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal over 34 minutes during Saturday's 109-98 win over the Hornets.

Making his fifth straight start, Oubre hit at least 20 points for the fifth time in eight March contests. Saturday's performance came with Tobias Harris (ankle) sidelined, but Oubre's workload and shot volume didn't increase, just his efficiency. On the month, he's averaging 20.5 points, 5.6 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.4 threes and 0.8 steals.

  • 76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Leads charge with 30 points

Maxey chipped in a game-high 30 points (8-20 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 11-12 FT), three rebounds and four assists over 40 minutes during Saturday's 109-98 victory over the Hornets.

The fourth-year guard hit 30 points for the second straight game despite having his nose bloodied on a flagrant foul that got Brandon Miller ejected in the second quarter. Maxey missed four games in March due to a concussion, but the injury didn't slow him down. He's scored at least 30 points in five of nine games since the All-Star break, averaging 27.7 points, 4.7 assists, 4.0 boards, 3.3 threes and 1.0 steals over that stretch.

  • 76ers' Nicolas Batum: Set to start Saturday

Batum is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game versus the Hornets, Gina Mizell of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Batum will replace Tobias Harris (ankle) in the starting five Saturday. Batum is averaging 3.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 23.0 minutes across his last five starting appearances.

  • 76ers' Tobias Harris: Won't play Saturday

Harris (ankle) will not play Saturday against the Hornets, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports.

This will be Harris' first missed game since the All-Star break, and it's an expected one as the forward was unable to participate in the morning shootaround. With Harris sidelined, coach Nick Nurse said he anticipates that Nicolas Batum will start, and he also mentioned that KJ Martin could get an extended look.
