Eagles linebacker Jordan Hicks picked up an interception and a fumble recovery in his first career start Sunday against the Jets.

The Eagles needed another strong defensive performance Sunday, and Hicks stepped up in the absence of fellow linebackers Mychal Kendricks and Kiko Alonso. He finished with a team-high 10 tackles to go along with his two crucial takeaways, impressing coach Chip Kelly and leaving an indelible mark on the Eagles' first win of the year.

With the status of Alonso and Kendricks uncertain ahead of Week 4, Hicks could see another start against Washington's turnover-happy offense.
