Antoine Winfield has been a starter for 13 years in the league, but CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora is reporting that the cornerback will be released Saturday by the Seahawks. La Canfora believed the team was trying to trade him.
The 36-year-old Winfield signed with the Seahawks in April with the intention of playing on a Super Bowl winner after spending his career with Buffalo and Minnesota.
Winfield has started 173 of 191 games in which he's played and has recorded 27 interceptions.
