Seahawks vs. 49ers updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday

Game Recap

The best player on the turf between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday ended up on the losing team. Although he couldn't prevent a 30-23 defeat to Seattle, TE George Kittle caught nine passes for two TDs and 181 yards.

The contest started off well for San Francisco, whose offense put up 23 first-half points. The Seahawks were right behind to make the score 23-21 heading into the break. Ultimately, however, and despite a strong defensive showing, they scored just enough to slip by in the second half.

Among those leading the charge for Seattle was RB Travis Homer, who punched in one rushing touchdown. That touchdown -- a 73-yard rush in the first quarter -- was one of the highlights of the game. QB Russell Wilson didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet, but finished with two touchdowns.

The loss dropped San Francisco back to even at 6-6. Seattle's victory brought them up to 4-8.

The 49ers are staying on the road next Sunday to face off against the Cincinnati Bengals at 4:25 p.m. ET Dec. 12 at Paul Brown Stadium. San Francisco is 2-3 after losses this year, Cincinnati 3-1. As for Seattle, they will go up against the Houston Texans at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday at NRG Stadium. If the matchup is anything like Seattle's 41-38 win from their previous meeting in October of 2017, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
