Gerald McCoy: Retires from NFL
McCoy (knee) announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday.
McCoy has decided to hang up his cleats after an 11-year career that included stints with the Buccaneers, Panthers and the Raiders. The defensive lineman recorded 334 tackles, including 59.5 sacks, while forcing six fumbles, recovering four fumbles and deflecting 24 passes over 140 games. The six-time Pro Bowler selection and one-time All-Pro selection was one of the most dominant at his position during his career.

Raiders' Gerald McCoy: Suspension lifted
McCoy's (knee) suspension has been lifted by the NFL, but he remains on injured reserve, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.
McCoy has served his six-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing substances policy, so he'll be eligible to return to action once his knee injury heals up. That won't be until next season, however, as McCoy has already been ruled out for the remainder of the 2021 campaign.

Raiders' Gerald McCoy: Lands suspension
McCoy (knee) has been dealt a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substances policy.
McCoy will serve the suspension immediately while he's on the team's injured reserve list. McCoy is already out for the remainder of the season, so this suspension won't have much of an effect on the Raiders' defensive line depth.

Raiders' Gerald McCoy: Hits IR list
McCoy (knee) has landed on the Raiders' IR list and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
After playing in only nine snaps in a Raiders uniform in the season opener, McCoy sustained a serious knee injury that will likely force him to miss the rest of the 2021 season. To replace McCoy, the Raiders' added Damion Square, however, it seems Las Vegas is leaning toward giving McCoy's lost snaps to Quinton Jefferson and Darius Philon.

Raiders' Gerald McCoy: Done for season
McCoy suffered a season-ending left knee injury in Monday's 33-27 overtime win over the Ravens and is expected to go on injured reserve in the coming days, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Though Raiders head coach Jon Gruden didn't go into specifics about McCoy's injury when he met with the media Tuesday, he admitted that the defensive tackle likely would be in store for a long-term absence. Follow-up tests on McCoy's knee seemingly have confirmed Gruden's worst fears, cutting short the 33-year-old's 2021 campaign after he played just nine snaps. Considering McCoy also missed the entire 2020 season with a ruptured right quadriceps, his days as a disruptive force on the interior could be over given his advancing age and the fact that he's lost consecutive years to lower-body injuries. The Raiders added Damion Square to the roster Tuesday to help restore depth at defensive tackle, but Quinton Jefferson and Darius Philon are likelier candidates to pick up reps with McCoy out.

Raiders' Gerald McCoy: Doesn't return to Monday's contest
The Raiders ruled McCoy (knee) out for the remainder of Monday's game against the Ravens.
McCoy had to be carted off the field, which suggests the knee injury is probably pretty serious. The six-time Pro Bowler was looking to get back on track after he missed the entire 2020 campaign with a ruptured quadriceps.

Raiders' Gerald McCoy: Joins Las Vegas
McCoy (quadriceps) signed a one-year deal with the Raiders on Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
The veteran defensive tackle joined the Cowboys on a three-year, $18.3 million deal ahead of last season, but he suffered a ruptured right quad tendon in training camp and was released. Nearly a full year later, McCoy is now healthy and will compete for a role with the Raiders. He last saw action in 2019 with the Panthers and totaled 37 tackles (15 solo) and five sacks in 16 games.
