Falcons' Bruce Carter: Lands extension
Carter and the Falcons agreed to a one-year extension Monday, William McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.
Carter played 11 games with the Falcons in 2018, racking up 16 solo tackles and five assisted tackles. He also played 188 snaps on special teams. The veteran linebacker will bring experience and depth to Atlanta's defense in 2019.

The veteran linebacker has become less and less of a defensive factor over the latter stages of his career, logging just four starts across his past four seasons with the Buccaneers, Jets and Falcons, compared to 32 starts during four years in Dallas. A surprising 70.1 percent of Carter's snaps for Atlanta this season came on special teams, as he picked up his most tackles since 2015 despite suiting up for only 11 games. With his contract expiring this winter, there is potential for Carter to be playing elsewhere next year as Atlanta looks to continue infusing youth into the roster.

Carter was signed to Atlanta's active roster Tuesday, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports.
Carter brings experience and depth to a Falcons linebacker corps lacking Deion Jones (foot). The 30-year-old veteran has racked up 306 tackles, 20 pass defenses, five sacks, five interceptions and one touchdown during his nine years in the league.
