  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: More snaps but no receptions

Goodwin did not catch either of his two targets in Monday's 26-22 loss to Pittsburgh. Goodwin upped his snap count from 10 to 15 but hasn't been able to connect with quarterback Deshaun Watson. His two targets Monday came on deep routes, as did his two Week 1 targets. Goodwin entered Monday's contest with an average-depth-of-target of 43.0 yards.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Limited snap count

Goodwin played only 10 offensive snaps and did not catch either of his two targets in Sunday's 24-3 win over Cincinnati in Week 1. Goodwin was part of the second tier on the wideout depth chart, joining rookie Cedric Tillman (10 snaps) and second-year wideout David Bell (10). On a rainy afternoon in Ohio, Cleveland threw the ball just 29 times compared to 40 rushes. That's not surprising given the conditions, but the attention focused on the wideouts during the offseason suggests there will be heavier passing days ahead, which means more playing time and targets for receivers. There may be opportunities down the road for Goodwin to stretch the field.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Removed from injury report

Goodwin (illness) was removed from the injury report and will play Sunday against the Bengals, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Goodwin spent much of the summer on the active/NFI list with blood clots but returned to practice Sept. 1 and appears ready to go. The speedy veteran is expected to serve in a deep-threat role behind Amari Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Elijah Moore this season.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Limited practice Wednesday

Goodwin (illness) logged a limited practice Wednesday. Goodwin has been dealing with blood clots since the beginning of training camp, so his ability to practice Wednesday is a positive sign for his chances to play Week 1 against the Bengals. The wide receiver will have two more chances to ramp up his activity this week before the beginning of the regular season.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Joins practice

Goodwin joined teammates on the practice field Tuesday, Doc Louallen of the Browns' official site reports. Goodwin was removed from the non-football illness list and practiced for the first time during preseason training. He missed all of training camp with blood clots, but Goodwin is expected to be ready for the season opener against Cincinnati. Goodwin will serve as a downfield threat but doesn't project for any better than No. 4 on the depth chart when the top trio of Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore and Donovan Peoples-Jones is healthy.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Set to come off NFI list

Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Goodwin (illness) will come off the non-football illness list Sunday and return to practice, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Goodwin was placed on the active/non-football illness list by the Browns in mid-July after he was diagnosed with blood clots in his legs and lungs. Given the issue potentially was career ending, it's a great sign to see the wideout cleared to resume football activities. However, Goodwin still has an uphill battle to land a spot on the initial 53-man roster, as the only locks at wideout are Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Cedric Tillman, leaving Goodwin to compete with David Bell, Jaelon Darden (leg), Anthony Schwartz (hamstring) and Austin Watkins.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Not playing Saturday

Goodwin (illness) will not play the preseason finale against the Chiefs on Saturday, Doc Louallen of the Browns' official site reports. Goodwin remains on the active/non-football injury list due to blood cots, and his status for Week 1 against the Bengals is unknown. The Browns may be leaning toward keeping six receivers, and Goodwin would be among those six if he were healthy. The four locks are Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Cedric Tillman. Beyond that, wide receivers in the mix for the final spots are David Bell, Jaelon Darden, Jakeem Grant, Anthony Schwartz (hamstring) and Austin Watkins.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Placed on active/NFI list

Goodwin (illness) was placed on the active/non-football illness list by the Browns on Friday, Cory Kinnan of USA Today reports. Goodwin will open camp on the sideline due to blood clots that were recently discovered in his legs and lungs, but he'll be eligible to return to practice and play at any point this preseason. The Browns' first exhibition is slated for Aug. 3 versus the Jets, and given the seriousness of Goodwin's health issues, it seems unlikely he'll be ready to suit up in that game.

  • Browns' Marquise Goodwin: Inks deal with Cleveland

The Browns signed Goodwin to a one-year contract Friday, ESPN's Field Yates reports. Turning 33 later this year, Goodwin is coming off a 2022 campaign with the Seahawks that saw him catch 27 passes for 387 yards and four touchdowns as the third receiver behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. In Cleveland, Goodwin joins fellow newcomer Elijah Moore alongside Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones in the Browns' revamped wideout room. Goodwin is believed to be over the shoulder and wrist issues that cost him the final two games of last season.

  • Seahawks' Marquise Goodwin: Placed on IR

Goodwin (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Goodwin was never projected to play Sunday against the Jets, but the Seahawks ended any hope of the speedy receiver coming back for Week 18. The veteran pass catcher would be eligible to return in the playoffs provided the Seahawks get that far, but it wouldn't come before the NFC Conference Championship. Expect Tyler Lockett (finger) and Laquon Treadwell to see a rise in targets with Goodwin sidelined.

  • Seahawks' Marquise Goodwin: Downgraded to doubtful

Goodwin (shoulder) is now listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Jets, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. The final injury report wasn't quite final, as the Seahawks released it before their Friday practice. Goodwin didn't participate and now figures to miss the crucial game against New York, leaving Laquon Treadwell as the likely No. 3 receiver (assuming Tyler Lockett returns from a finger injury, which he said he plans to do, per Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle).

  • Seahawks' Marquise Goodwin: Has SC joint sprain in shoulder

Coach Pete Carroll said Goodwin is dealing with an SC joint sprain in his left shoulder, which has left the wide receiver questionable for Sunday's contest against the Jets, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Goodwin has been tending to a wrist injury for nearly two weeks, but it appears the shoulder issue was the reason for back-to-back DNPs to start Week 17 prep. He even was spotted with a sling on his left shoulder during Thursday's practice, and Carroll's clarification of the health concern indicates Goodwin is in danger of missing his third game of the campaign. In the end, Goodwin's status will become known approximately 90 minutes before Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Seahawks' Marquise Goodwin: Questionable for Week 17

Goodwin (shoulder/wrist) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports. After sitting out practice Wednesday and Thursday, Goodwin could be in danger of missing Week 17 action due to a combination of shoulder and wrist injuries. The former may be the bigger issue after it showed up this week, but he nonetheless has a chance to play Sunday, something that'll be confirmed, one way or another, about 90 minutes before a 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Seahawks' Marquise Goodwin: Sits out again Thursday

Goodwin (shoulder/wrist) missed Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. A wrist injury has been bothering Goodwin since last Wednesday, but a new health concern now may be conspiring to force a third missed game of the season, as he was seen sporting a sling on his left shoulder during the portion of Thursday's session open to the media, according to Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic. Goodwin has yet to mix into drills this week, so Friday's practice report may be telling for his availability for Sunday's contest against the Jets.

  • Seahawks' Marquise Goodwin: No practice reps Wednesday

Goodwin (shoulder/wrist) didn't take part in practice Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Goodwin had his practice reps capped last week due to wrist and ankle injuries, and he headed into the weekend as questionable. He eventually was active Saturday at Kansas City and started for an absent Tyler Lockett (hand), but Goodwin ended up third in snaps among Seahawks wide receivers behind DK Metcalf's 69 and Laquon Treadwell's 65 with 39 (of 76). Goodwin, who was held without a reception on four targets, briefly exited from the contest on account of the wrist issue, which played a factor in Treadwell out-snapping him. There's a chance Lockett returns for Sunday's contest versus the Jets, which likely would push Goodwin further down Seattle's depth chart, assuming both players are active.

  • Seahawks' Marquise Goodwin: No catches against Chiefs

Goodwin was targeted four times but didn't catch a pass in Saturday's 24-10 loss to the Chiefs. Goodwin missed a chunk of the third quarter after aggravating his wrist injury, but he returned to the game. However, Goodwin couldn't capitalize on the opportunity with Tyler Lockett (hand) sidelined, as he had his first catchless game since Week 4. It's possible that Goodwin is actually more useful when both Lockett and DK Metcalf are in the lineup, as the spotlight isn't on him as the No. 2 receiver. Regardless of Lockett's status, the Week 17 matchup against the Jets' stout secondary will be difficult, and it will be worth monitoring Goodwin's health in case his wrist flares up again this week.

  • Seahawks' Marquise Goodwin: Returns to Saturday's game

Goodwin (wrist) returned to Sunday's game against the Chiefs early in the fourth quarter, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Goodwin missed most of the third quarter after aggravating the wrist injury on the Seahawks' first possession of the second half, but after getting evaluated on the sideline, he received clearance to check back into the contest. He'll look to salvage what had been a fruitless day prior to his exit, as he failed to corral either of the two targets he drew through the first three quarters.

  • Seahawks' Marquise Goodwin: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

With Tyler Lockett (finger) out, Goodwin should have a bigger role opposite DK Metcalf, and Goodwin is worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues. Goodwin has five games this season with at least five targets, and he scored at least 20 PPR points in two of them. This is also a great matchup against the Chiefs, who are No. 5 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, and five receivers have scored at least 12 PPR points against Kansas City in the past five games. Goodwin is a great boom-or-bust Fantasy receiver in all leagues with Lockett out.

  • Seahawks' Marquise Goodwin: Good to go for Saturday

Goodwin (ankle/wrist) is active for Saturday's game against the Chiefs. Goodwin, who had been managing the wrist issue heading into the week, was listed as questionable for Saturday's contest after he suffered a lateral ankle sprain during Wednesday's practice. He wasn't able to log any reps during the Seahawks' final session of the week Thursday, though coach Pete Carroll characterized his absence as more of a rest day. Assuming that's indeed the case, Goodwin shouldn't face any major restrictions in Kansas City, where he'll likely be stepping into a more pronounced role in the Seattle passing attack. DK Metcalf remains the Seahawks' unquestioned No. 1 target, but Goodwin or tight end Noah Fant could be next in line for looks from quarterback Geno Smith while Tyler Lockett (finger) is sidelined this weekend.
