  • Bills' Jordan Phillips: Re-signs with Buffalo

Phillips (shoulder) agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal with the Bills on Wednesday, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports. Phillips underwent surgery to repair his torn rotator cuff following the conclusion of the 2022 season, but the Bills seem confident the veteran defensive tackle will be healthy by training camp. After being cut by the Cardinals last offseason, Phillips began his second stint with the Bills in 2022 and tallied 20 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 12 games. He'll likely fill a rotational role along the defensive line during the upcoming campaign.

  • Bills' Von Miller: On road to full recovery

Coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Miller, who suffered an ACL injury in Week 12 last season, is on schedule with his recovery, Grace Heidinger of the Bills' official site reports. Said McDermott, "And then you talk about the piece that he's working on, which is getting healthy to play and play well on the field. That's a whole other piece and to this point, it sounds like he's on schedule." Miller had 8.0 sacks in just 11 games last season -- not bad at all for a 33-year-old (now 34) -- so the Bills are certainly looking forward to having him back to lead the pass rush once again in what will be his second campaign with the team.

  • Raiders' Jaquan Johnson: Signing with Las Vegas

Johnson agreed to terms with the Raiders on a one-year deal Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Johnson now will leave Buffalo, where he's spent the past four seasons, and head out west to Las Vegas. The 2019 sixth-round pick is coming off of his most productive campaign, registering 32 tackles (16 solo) and an interception while playing on both defense and special teams. The 27-year-old will likely serve as a reserve safety in addition to playing on special teams for the Raiders next season.

  • Bills' Damar Hamlin: Return to play a possibility

Hamlin continues to progress from his cardiac arrest suffered Jan. 2 and has recovered enough that he's hoping to return to the NFL in the future, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports. Said general manager Brandon Bean this week, "He's dialed in. He definitely has every intention to play. He's got, I know of one more visit, but I think they'll get wrapped up by sometime in April, as it stands now." Hamlin still has a long road ahead and will need to work through several steps of clearance, but it's beyond encouraging that the discussion has turned to football just a couple of months after his life was at stake. It's unclear if Hamlin will have any restrictions if he does return to action in 2023, where he'd likely serve as a depth safety for the Bills behind Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde.

  • Bills' Dane Jackson: Staying in Buffalo

Jackson is in line to re-sign with the Bills, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. The Bills plan to tender the restricted free agent after he had a productive season in 2022. The deal will likely be an original-round tender at $2.7 million, which would make the 26-year-old cornerback a cost effective option in Buffalo's defensive backfield if he can build upon his solid 2022 campaign. Jackson finished the season with 57 tackles (40 solo), two interceptions, 12 passes defensed and one forced fumble.

  • Bills' Matt Milano: Gets two more years

Milano signed a two-year contract extension Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Milano's contract will now run through the 2026 season while also creating $6 million in cap space this offseason for the Bills. The veteran linebacker completed arguably his best statistical season in 2022, recording 99 tackles (72 solo), 1.5 sacks, 11 passes defended and three interceptions. He'll remain an integral piece of the Bills defense next season and likely multiple years beyond that now.

  • Bills' Jordan Phillips: Undergoes rotator cuff surgery

Phillips (shoulder) had surgery to repair his torn rotator cuff after the 2022 season, Michael Giardi of NFL Network reports. It's unclear when he suffered the injury, but he saw a reduced role down the stretch and played just 17 snaps during the Bills' divisional-round loss to Cincinnati.

  • Bills' Greg Rousseau: Makes strides in second season

Rousseau finished the 2022 regular season with 37 tackles, eight sacks, four passes defended and one forced fumble over 13 games. The 8.0 sacks -- which co-led the team with Von Miller -- is the number that sticks out the most considering Rousseau missed time with an ankle injury and also that the Bills typically rotate their defensive linemen more than most teams. He also stepped it up after Miller was lost for the season with a knee injury. Rousseau has mammoth size and has now proven a knack for getting after the quarterback, so he could be relied upon for more in the 2023 season, as the Bills have some cap issues and likely won't be able to run as deep as they have the last two seasons.

However, the 26-year-old will not draw the start Sunday opposite Tre'Davious White, and instead, Kaiir Elam will. Whether or not Jackson suffered a setback or is hampered by the injury is unclear.
