  • Ryan Neal: Becomes free agent

The Seahawks have withdrawn the contract tender they had previously extended to Neal as a restricted free agent, Field Yates of ESPN reports. As a result, the 27-year-old becomes an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any NFL team. In 14 games with the Seahawks last season, Neal recorded 66 tackles and a pick. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder shouldn't have much trouble catching on with another squad looking to add safety depth ahead of next month's draft.

  • Seahawks' Jamal Adams: Continues to progress

Adams (knee) is making a push to be ready for the start of training camp, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. Adams is progressing well after tearing his quadriceps during Seattle's Week 1 win over the Broncos. Head coach Pete Carroll said that the 27-year-old will be ready for the start of the regular season and that he could even be back in time for the start of training camp. Adams will be a part of a talented safety trio next season playing alongside Quandre Diggs and Julian Love provided the 2017 first-round pick can return to his pre-injury form.

  • Saints' Johnathan Abram: Heading to New Orleans

Abram agreed to a contract with the Saints and is slated to sign with the team Wednesday following a physical, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. A first-round selection of the Raiders in the 2019 NFL Draft, Abram was cut loose by Las Vegas in November of last season and caught on with Green Bay and Seattle before the end of the campaign. Neither club sought to bring Abram back in free agency, but the veteran safety will get an opportunity to get his career back on track in New Orleans, where he'll likely fill a depth role in the secondary.

  • Cardinals' L.J. Collier: Signs with Arizona

The Cardinals agreed to terms with Collier on a one-year deal Tuesday, Darren Urban of team's official site reports. Collier will head from one NFC West team to another, as he spent the last four seasons in Seattle. The 2019 first-round pick played in only eight games last year, as he dealt with both elbow and thumb injuries and recorded just seven tackles (three solo). While Collier is coming off the least productive season of his career, he should still add solid depth to Arizona's pass rush unit that will be looking to fill the void left by J.J. Watt's retirement.

  • Al Woods: Cut by Seahawks

Woods was released by the Seahawks on Monday. Woods is parting ways with Seattle after starting 30 games for the Seahawks over the previous two seasons. The veteran defensive tackle is approaching his 36th birthday and has played for five NFL teams over the course of his career.

  • Seahawks' Ryan Neal: Gets tender from Seahawks

The Seahawks have extended a right of first refusal tender to restricted free agent Neal, ESPN's Brady Henderson reports. Should he sign it, the tender will pay Neal more than $2.6 million. With Jamal Adams suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 1 last year, Neal played an expanded role on the back of the Seattle defense next to Quandre Diggs. Neal was in on a career-high 73 percent of the snaps and recorded one interception.

  • Shelby Harris: Officially released Tuesday

The Seahawks released Harris on Tuesday, The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar reports. The move clears over $8.9 million in cap space for the Seahawks, as Harris was entering the final year of his contract. The 31-year-old was part of the return package from the Broncos in the Russell Wilson trade and started 15 games for Seattle last season, notching four forced fumbles and a pair of sacks. He's still an effective interior defender.

  • Quinton Jefferson: Cut by Seattle

The Seahawks are slated to release Jefferson, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Jefferson was solid in a rotational role for Seattle last season, but it appears the veteran defensive tackle will now get a chance to test his value on the open market. The soon-to-be 30-year-old notched a career-high 5.5 sacks across 17 games last season.

  • Commanders' Cody Barton: Inks one-year deal with Commanders

The Commanders and Barton agreed to terms on a one-year contract Monday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. A third-round pick back in 2019, Barton became a full-time starter last season in Seattle, playing 77 percent of the team's defensive snaps. He racked up 136 tackles and two sacks and should slide in as a snaps-eater in the middle of coach Ron Rivera's defense in Washington.

  • Seahawks' Shelby Harris: Expected to be released

The Seahawks are expected to release Harris after the start of the new league year Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Harris, who joined Seattle as a part of last offseason's trade of Russell Wilson with Denver, was set for a $9 million salary if not cut this season. The Seahawks would reportedly also consider trading the veteran defensive lineman but haven't managed to find a workable deal. In 2022, Harris appeared in 15 games and recorded just two sacks.

  • Ben Burr-Kirven: Released by Seahawks

The Seahawks released Burr-Kirven on Thursday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports. Burr-Kirven never really got a chance to jumpstart his career in Seattle, as he tore his ACL before the start of his third season in the NFL and eventually missed the entire 2021 season as well as the 2022 campaign. The 25-year-old linebacker will now work toward another opportunity elsewhere to rejuvenate his playing career.

  • Seahawks' Jordyn Brooks: Progressing well after surgery

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Brooks (knee) is "doing really well" in his recovery but remains without a specific timeline to return to the field, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. Brooks suffered a torn ACL in Week 17, and based off Carroll's comments, the Seahawks are optimistic that the linebacker's recovery is on schedule and that he'll be able to bounce back. At this stage, however, the 25-year-old isn't guaranteed to be ready for the start of the 2023 season. In spite of missing the Seahawks' regular-season finale and postseason loss to the 49ers, Brooks remained one of the most productive linebackers in IDP leagues, finishing with 161 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery over 16 appearances.

  • Seahawks' Jamal Adams: Rehabilitation remains on track

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Adams (knee) is "making his progress" in his recovery and "doing his stuff," John Boyle of the team's official site reports. Carroll added that "everything was going the way it was supposed to go" when referring to Adams' recovery from the season-ending quadriceps tendon injury he suffered back in Week 1. The 27-year-old safety will likely spend the majority of the offseason gaining back his strength with the hope of being back to full health by the start of the 2023 campaign.

  • Seahawks' Alton Robinson: Still not fully recovered

Head coach Pete Carroll said last Monday that Robinson (knee) has had "some issues with his return" and isn't up to full speed yet, Liz Mathews of USA Today reports. Robinson suffered a knee injury during the preseason that landed him on injured reserve, but the hope was that he'd be back at some point during the regular season. However, he experienced some setbacks in his rehab and was kept on IR for the entire campaign. It's unclear if Robinson will need offseason surgery to correct the issue, but as of now, Seattle is optimistic that he'll be good to go for next season's training camp.

  • Seahawks' Boye Mafe: Underwhelming rookie campaign

Mafe posted 41 tackles (28 solo) and three sacks across 17 regular-season games during 2022. The 2022 second-round pick (40th overall) averaged 24.1 defensive snaps per game as a rookie, as Uchenna Nwosu, Darrell Taylor and even Bruce Irvin all ran ahead of him. Mafe still has excellent athletic qualities in addition to a solid collegiate track record. Mafe has a good chance at taking a starting role in 2023, but fantasy managers should temper expectations considering the underwhelming rookie campaign from the 24-year-old.

  • Seahawks' Shelby Harris: Starts every game in 2022

Harris recorded 44 tackles (24 solo), four pass breakups and 2.5 sacks over 15 regular-season games during the 2022 season. Harris was included in the trade package that pried QB Russell Wilson from Seattle and to Denver. The 31-year-old defensive lineman started every game, including the postseason contest, but he posted his lowest sack total since the 2018 season. Harris is heading into the final year of his contract, but the Seahawks would save nearly $9 million against the salary cap by cutting him. However, his job is probably safe unless the Seahawks are ready to bring in significant reinforcements on the defensive line through free agency and the draft.

  • Seahawks' Darrell Taylor: Heats up to finish 2022 season

Taylor posted 26 tackles (22 solo), 9.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and a pass breakup over 16 regular-season games in the 2022 season. Taylor piled up three sacks through the first 10 games, but he stacked up 6.5 sacks over the final six contests. The 2020 second-round pick has averaged 30 defensive tackles over the past two seasons, and he has totaled 16 sacks in that stretch. Taylor doesn't rack up tackles, but he has IDP value in deeper leagues because of his pass-rushing skills.

  • Seahawks' Uchenna Nwosu: Enjoys breakout season in Seattle

Nwosu posted 67 tackles (42 solo), 9.5 sacks, four pass breakups, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries across 17 regular-season games in 2022. Nwosu totaled 9.5 sacks over the previous two seasons with the Chargers, but he broke out in Seattle's system while averaging a career-high 51 defensive snaps per game. The 2018 second-round pick just turned 26 years old, so he may not have hit his peak yet. Nwosu has only one year left on his contract in Seattle, so he'll be a candidate for an extension this offseason.

  • Seahawks' Coby Bryant: Stacks up 70 tackles

Bryant posted 70 tackles (52 solo), four pass breakups, four forced fumbles and two sacks across 17 regular-season games in the 2022 season. Bryant started six games and averaged 43 defensive snaps per contest. He was quite successful even in the slightly limited role, and he was tied for third in the league with four forced fumbles. The fourth-round rookie struggled in coverage, but that is typical for a rookie. He improved immensely as a tackler this year, too, so he'll have that working in his favor as he makes his pitch for a full-time starting role in Seattle in 2023.

  • Seahawks' Quandre Diggs: Tallies four picks in 2022

Diggs recorded 71 tackles (50 solo), seven pass breakups, four interceptions and a forced fumble over 17 regular-season games in 2022. Diggs has played every regular-season game over his past three seasons in Seattle. He posted 229 tackles (158 solo), 24 pass breakups and 14 interceptions over 50 games in that stretch. He'll be 30 years old later in January, and he has two years remaining on his contract, although he could be cut in 2023 for nearly $10 million in cap savings. Don't expect that to happen, however, as Diggs is a crucial part of the Seahawks' defensive scheme.
