Maye was suspended three games Wednesday for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
In a rough break for New Orleans, Maye will now have to wait to play again until Oct. 15 at Houston at the earliest. In the meantime, rookie fifth-rounder Jordan Howden could be called upon to replace him in the starting lineup at safety.

Saints' Marcus Maye: Six tackles and interception in win
