Cardinals' Corey Clement: Elevated to active roster
Clement was elevated to the Cardinals' active roster Saturday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
The move corresponds with Keaontay Ingram (neck) being listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the 49ers. If Ingram is ruled out, Clement could fill a depth backfield role behind James Conner and Emari Demercado.

Corey Clement: Rejoins Arizona on practice squad
Clement was picked up by the Cardinals' practice squad Thursday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
Clement was released by Arizona on Tuesday after failing to beat out Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado for a depth backfield spot behind James Conner. He finished the preseason strong with 84 yards on 16 touches in the preseason finale against the Vikings on Saturday. He appeared in nine games for the Cardinals last season, rushing for 55 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries while adding five catches for 54 yards.

Corey Clement: Back to free agency
The Cardinals are slated to release Clement on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Clement failed to beat out Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado during the preseason, but he won't be subjected to waivers and can immediately begin testing the waters for a depth opportunity elsewhere. In nine appearances with Arizona last season, Clement turned 15 carries into 55 yards and one touchdown. He also caught five of seven targets for 54 yards.

Cardinals' Corey Clement: May be slipping down depth chart
Clement carried the ball 14 times for 79 yards in Saturday's 18-17 preseason win over Minnesota.
Clement worked behind both Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado for the second consecutive week, suggesting he may be slipping down the Arizona depth chart. Positively, he did run well, tallying long gains of 29 and 10 yards. James Conner is projected to handle a significant amount of the carries out of Arizona's backfield, so regardless of exactly where Clement slots in on the depth chart, he isn't likely to see many snaps with the offensive unit.

Cardinals' Corey Clement: Receives three touches Saturday
Clement tallied two carries for three yards and gathered in one of two targets for four yards during Saturday's 38-10 preseason loss to the Chiefs.
Clement was the fourth Cardinals running back to enter the game behind top option James Conner, Keaontay Ingram and undrafted rookie Emari Demercado, while Ty'Son Williams didn't see the field at all. Despite the potential demotion, Clement remains behind Conner and Ingram and ahead of Demercado and Williams on the team's third unofficial depth chart of the preseason, per Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic. Clement's performance in Saturday's exhibition at Minnesota ultimately may determine whether or not he survives cut downs with a spot on Arizona's roster.

Cardinals' Corey Clement: Records nine touches Friday
Clement had six carries for 15 yards and hauled in all three targets for 13 yards during Friday's 18-17 preseason victory against the Broncos.
Clement handled the first touch of the game for the Cardinals (a five-yard connection with quarterback Colt McCoy) and received touches in three of the team's initial four possession. The overall output was nothing to write home about -- 2.5 yards per carry, 4.3 yards per catch -- but with James Conner and Keaontay Ingram (abdomen) unavailable, Clement may be the current leader for the No. 3 RB role in Arizona. Ty'Son Williams, Clement's main competitor, did have 10 rushes for 51 yards, but he got run in every quarter, while Clement was out of the game by the middle of the second quarter. Clement will continue to work toward locking down the aforementioned gig on Saturday, Aug. 19 versus the Chiefs.
