  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Trains with Jordan Love

Jones worked with quarterback Jordan Love in California this offseason, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Jones suggested Wednesday that earning Aaron Rodgers' trust had been a big factor in his personal success, per Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. The 28-year-old running back now hopes to form a similar on-field relationship with the Packers' new starting quarterback, hoping his experience as a pass catcher and blocker can help Love thrive. The Packers are again likely to run much of their offense through Jones and power back AJ Dillon, with Love's mobility potentially adding a third component defenses need to be aware of on the ground. Jones had odd stat lines in his final season playing alongside Rodgers, getting only two touchdowns out of a career-high 1,121 rushing yards but then five touchdowns from 395 receiving yards. The receiving production will be tougher to maintain post-Rodgers, though Jones should remain one of the team's pass-catching priorities given how young the Packers are at wide receiver and tight end.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Restructures contract for 2023

Jones and the Packers agreed Friday to restructure his contract for the 2023 season to an $11 million salary with an $8.52 million signing bonus, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Jones' decision to restructure allows for Green Bay to retain him for the 2023 campaign rather than release him, and as noted by Schefter, he will still have two additional years remaining on his deal. The 28-year-old remains an integral component of the Packers' offense, and his presence will be key in maintaining efficient team production in 2023 regardless of whether quarterback Aaron Rodgers ultimately remains the starter. Jones racked up 1,516 scrimmage yards and seven total touchdowns while playing all 17 games in 2022, maintaining an exceptional 5.3 YPC.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Anticipated back in 2023

General Manager Brian Gutekunst said Friday he expects Jones to be on the Packers during the 2023 season, but he didn't rule out a contract restructure to reduce the running back's contract, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Green Bay has a potential 'out' in Jones' contract this offseason, but it appears the dynamic 28-year-old remains in the team's future plans. Jones is currently heading into the final two seasons of his four-year, $48 million contract, however, and a restructure could be necessary for his salary to fit into the Packers' scheme. Green Bay is heading into an offseason that could contain a number of significant decisions, so keeping a versatile player who accumulated 1,516 yards from scrimmage and seven combined touchdowns in 2022 could help ensure some amount of stability on offense.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Struggles in last game of season

Jones (knee/ankle) rushed 12 times for 48 yards and lost a fumble while catching three of four targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Lions. Jones lost a physical battle to Detroit's front seven, as he was seen getting up gingerly after some big hits (including the one he lost a fumble on). The 28-year-old battled minor injuries throughout the season, but he still finished with 1,516 yards from scrimmage and seven combined touchdowns. Jones should continue to be the focal point on offense for a Green Bay squad with an aging quarterback and a raw receiving corps.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Ready for Sunday night

Jones (knee/ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Detroit, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Jones has dealt with lower-body injuries throughout the second half of the season, but he's mostly played well all the same and still gets a few more snaps than AJ Dillon most weeks. Dillon's recent dominance of goal-line work has taken a chunk out of Jones' fantasy value, but it's possible the latter gets more work Sunday, and then maybe more in the playoffs if the Packers are able to punch their ticket with a win over Detroit.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Another limited session

Jones (knee/ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Jones maintained his activity level from Wednesday's walkthrough as he continues to deal with lingering knee and ankle issues. Since initially getting hurt during a Week 9 loss at Detroit, he's had a huge range of outcomes over the last seven games, tallying between eight and 26 touches per week. Friday's practice report ultimately will reveal whether or not Jones goes into the weekend with a designation for Sunday's contest against the Lions.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Stays limited at practice

Jones (knee/ankle) was a limited participant at Wednesday's walk-through practice. Jones has been a mainstay on Packers injury reports for the second half of the campaign due to various lower-body injuries. Currently, knee and ankle issues are affecting his reps, but he still was able to tally 16 touches for 113 yards from scrimmage on 40 percent of the snaps during this past Sunday's win against the Vikings. In that same game, fellow running back AJ Dillon had a 46 percent share of snaps and 12 carries for 41 yards and one touchdown. Assuming Jones is able to play through the pain Sunday versus the Lions, he'll again team with Dillon out of Green Bay's backfield.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Tops 100 yards in win

Jones carried the ball 14 times for 111 yards and caught two of three targets for two yards in Sunday's 41-17 win over the Vikings. Green Bay ran away with this one early, but Jones didn't need many touches to record his first 100-yard performance since Week 10. The 28-year-old has now produced his third 1,000-yard season in the last four years, and he's only 32 yards short of a new career high heading into the Packers' must-win Week 18 game against the Lions.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Cleared to face Minnesota

Jones (knee/ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Minnesota. Jones has dealt with lower-body injuries throughout the second half of the season, including a rolled ankle this past Sunday in a 26-20 win over Miami. He nonetheless logged at least four snaps in each quarter of the game, though he finished with only six carries and two targets (compared to 11 and three, respectively, for backfield mate AJ Dillon). The absence of an injury designation on Friday's final report is good news, but there is still some chance Jones again handles a lesser role compared to the large workload advantage he had over Dillon earlier this season. Both have merit as Week 17 fantasy plays against a struggling Minnesota defense.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Another limited session

Jones (knee/ankle) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Jones has been dealing with lower-body injuries since Week 9, with the most recent issue stemming from him getting his ankle rolled up on this past Sunday at Miami. He actually logged his lowest snap share (38 percent) of the season in that contest and matched his campaign low with eight touches for just 34 yards from scrimmage. Meanwhile, fellow Packers back AJ Dillon went for 48 total yards and a rushing TD on 13 touches and a 58 percent share of plays. Assuming Jones is active Sunday against the Vikings as he's been all year long, the breakdown of reps between him and Dillon may be contingent on Jones' health.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Logs limited practice Wednesday

Jones was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice due to knee and ankle injuries. Despite dealing with a knee issue during Week 16 prep, Jones was able to suit up this past Sunday at Miami, but his workload was scaled back after his ankle was "rolled up on" on his first carry of the second half, the running back told Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Jones ended up playing 25 of 66 offensive snaps on his way to eight touches for 34 yards from scrimmage, while AJ Dillon notched 13 touches for 48 total yards and a rushing touchdown on 38 snaps. With Jones tending to a pair of health concerns at the moment, his status will be one to watch as Sunday's game against the Vikings approaches.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Plays through ankle injury Sunday

Jones said after Sunday's 26-20 win at Miami that his ankle was "rolled up on" on his first carry of the second half, but he remained available to the Packers offense, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports. Jones had a meager performance for his standards Week 16, recording six carries for 25 yards and hauling in both targets for nine yards. The eight touches matched his fewest of the campaign, which last occurred back in a season-opening loss at Minnesota. Jones' comment after Sunday's game helps to explain his lack of usage, and his status now will be monitored as the Packers prepare for a Week 17 matchup with the Vikings next Sunday, Jan. 1.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Cleared for Sunday's game

Jones (knee) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. Coming off a 21-touch outing in Monday's 24-12 win over the Rams, Jones was listed as a limited participant in practices Wednesday through Friday, but the Packers never indicated that he was dealing with any sort of setback coming out of the Week 15 contest. The fact that Jones won't be carrying a designation into Christmas Day implies that his limitations were most likely maintenance-related, so he shouldn't face any major restrictions when he takes on the Dolphins. That being said, Jones may not be a safe bet to clear 20 touches for the second week in a row, as the Packers were able to find plenty of work for both him and AJ Dillon on Monday while they sat on a lead against a non-threatening Rams offense for most of the night. A road matchup with the playoff-hopeful Dolphins could result in the Packers leaning more heavily on quarterback Aaron Rodgers rather than the ground attack.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Stays limited Thursday

Jones (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. After enduring a cap on his reps at Wednesday's walkthrough, Jones maintained that activity level one day later as the Packers resumed Week 16 prep with a normal session. He was dealing with ankle and/or shin issues prior to his last five appearances, but this week a knee injury is impacting his on-field work. There's been no indication that Jones is in danger of sitting out Sunday at Miami, but Friday's practice report will indicate whether or not he heads into the weekend with a designation.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Dealing with knee issue

Jones was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report due to a knee injury. Since making an early exit from a Week 9 loss at Detroit, Jones has been alternatively listed with ankle and shin issues on Packers injury reports. As the team gears up for Sunday's game at Miami, he's dealing with a new health concern. Jones generally has been able to handle a full workload in five contests in the meantime, averaging 18.8 touches for 98.2 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring three total touchdowns. Assuming he's able to gain clearance to play this weekend, per usual, he'll again share the backfield with AJ Dillon, who left Monday's win against the Rams to be checked for a concussion but avoided entering the protocol.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Rushing leader on MNF

Jones rushed 17 times for 90 yards (one fumble lost) and caught four of five targets for 36 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 24-12 win over the Rams. Jones took full advantage of the absence of Aaron Donald (ankle) on Monday, gashing the opposition for his highest rushing total since Week 10. The 28-year-old's lone blemish was a lost fumble that occurred when he was turtle-shelled on top of a Los Angeles defender and stripped by Jalen Ramsey. Co-starter AJ Dillon (11-36-2) left the game in the second half with a concussion and did not return. Jones would be in line for a hefty workload if Dillon isn't cleared ahead the Packers' Week 16 matchup against the Dolphins on Christmas Day.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Clear for Monday

Jones (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Monday's game against the Rams, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. Jones' practice reps were capped during the entirety of Week 15 prep, but the ankle issue that has lingered since Week 9 won't keep him from suiting up on game day. He'll be facing an L.A. defense without the services of Aaron Donald (ankle), so Jones will have more room to operate while working in tandem with AJ Dillon out of Green Bay's backfield.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Limited again Friday

Jones (ankle) was a limited practice participant Friday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Jones hurt his lower leg in a Week 9 loss to Detroit and has been a regular on the injury report ever since -- typically as a limited participant -- but he still hasn't missed a game this season. He was, however, limited to 32 percent snap share in the last game before Green Bay's Week 14 bye, missing a chunk of the second half with what was deemed a shin injury at the time. He returned to the game, and after a bye it'll be a surprise if he's not able to play Monday night against the Rams.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Limited after bye week

Jones (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Jones has been tending to what has alternatively been termed an ankle or shin injury since exiting a Week 9 loss at Detroit. He logged three of his five largest snap shares of the season Weeks 10 through 12, before he left but ultimately returned to the Packers' last game Week 13 in Chicago. In that last contest, Jones turned 14 touches into 50 yards from scrimmage on 38 percent of snaps, while fellow running back AJ Dillon reeled off 119 total yards and a rushing score on 21 touches and 68 percent of the plays. Jones will have two more sessions this week before the Packers potentially give him a designation for Monday's outing against the Rams.

  • Packers' Aaron Jones: Back at practice to begin Week 15

Jones was on the field for the Packers' unofficial practice session Tuesday following the team's Week 14 bye, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. In the Packers' last game against the Bears, Jones was managing a shin injury that caused him to exit the contest at one point, but he was ultimately cleared to return and finished with 50 yards from scrimmage on 14 touches (nine carries, five receptions) in Green Bay's 28-19 win. Though Jones was less than 100 percent by the end of the Bears game, the week off appears to have him in a better spot on the health front heading into Week 15. Jones should be positioned to deliver a bounce-back performance Monday against a depleted Rams squad that could be missing standout defensive tackle Aaron Donald (ankle).
