Head coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Mone (knee) had a "difficult surgery" in which more issues were discovered than previously diagnosed, ultimately suggesting a lengthy recovery, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Mone shifted to Seattle's injured reserve back on Dec. 20 due to an ACL injury, and he's now in jeopardy of missing at least part of the 2023 campaign following surgery to address his initial knee damage. Throughout this past season, the 27-year-old operated as a rotational defensive lineman and amassed 25 tackles.

The Seahawks placed Mone (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Mone will spend the remainder of the 2022 season on IR after injuring his ACL in Week 16 versus San Francisco. The 27-year-old logged 25 tackles and a pass defended while playing a rotational role at nose tackle over 13 games this season. To help make up for this loss, the Seahawks also signed defensive tackle Jarrod Hewitt to the practice squad Tuesday.

Mone suffered a season-ending ACL injury Thursday against the 49ers, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Mone picked up the start but was forced to exit Thursday's contest early in the first quarter. The 27-year-old was unable to return to action Thursday after suffering an ACL injury. With the defensive tackle set to miss the rest of the season, the Seahawks may need to look outside the organization for reinforcements, as Al Woods is also dealing with an Achilles injury.

Mone went down grabbing his left knee early in the first quarter, and he had to be helped off before heading into the Seahawks' medical tent, according to Brady Henderson of ESPN.com. Mone was recovering from a PCL sprain when he tested positive for COVID-19, and he's now back on the active roster after clearing the health and safety protocols. The 26-year-old was a full practice participant Wednesday. so it appears he's recovered from the knee sprain and will be back for Week 17.
