  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Focused on improving routes

Goedert has been spending more time with the Eagles wide receivers this spring to work on his routes and releases, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports reports. The tight end said he started spending more time with the WRs last season and has continued with it during/after spring workouts. Goedert caught 79.7 percent of his targets last year and had career highs for catches and yards per game -- 4.6 for 58.5 -- but he missed five straight weeks with a shoulder injury and finished at 55/702/3, down from 56/830/4 in 15 games the year before. He could have a career year in 2023 without a significant increase in target share if the Philadelphia offense remains elite and Goedert simply has better luck with TDs and/or injuries. He remains the third option in the passing game, behind WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith and potentially facing a bit more competition for short passes following the trade for RB D'Andre Swift.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Six catches in Super Bowl defeat

Goedert recorded six receptions on seven targets for 60 yards in Sunday's 38-35 Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs. Goedert concluded his postseason in strong fashion, and he tallied at least five receptions in all three games. His Super Bowl performance was highlighted by a pair of 17-yard receptions on a drive midway through the third quarter to help set up a field goal. In five seasons with the Eagles, Goedert has topped 50 receptions on three occasions and likely will return to the team in 2023, as he's still under a four-year contract.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Team-high five grabs Sunday

Goedert caught five of six targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 31-7 win over the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. It wasn't a big performance by any means, but the tight end's five receptions actually led the Eagles in a game where they didn't need to throw the ball much after the loss of Brock Purdy (elbow) derailed the Niners offense. Goedert has a 10-81-1 line on 11 targets through two playoff games this season, and he figures to have a solid floor with some upside potential in two weeks during the Super Bowl.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Productive in divisional-round win

Goedert secured all five targets for 58 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 38-7 divisional-round win over the Giants on Saturday night. Goedert checked in second in receptions and receiving yards to DeVonta Smith for the Eagles, and he was on the receiving end of a 16-yard touchdown toss from Jalen Hurts that opened the scoring on the night. The fifth-year tight end just missed out on a second score two possessions later when he was brought down on the three-yard line, but Goedert will head into an NFC Championship Game battle versus either the Cowboys or 49ers a week from Sunday with plenty of momentum.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Six catches against Giants

Goedert caught six of seven targets for 46 yards in Sunday's 22-16 win over the Giants. In Jalen Hurts' first game back from a shoulder strain, Goedert had his most catches in three games since returning from his own shoulder injury. The tight end wraps up the regular season with 55 catches on 69 targets for 702 yards and three touchdowns over 12 contests, and Goedert and Hurts will both get an extra week to rest and heal with the Eagles having secured a first-round bye and the top seed in the NFC.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Contrarian DFS Play (TE Preview)

I'd expect a bounce back from Dallas Goedert for two reasons. One, we expect Jalen Hurts to return in Week 18. Two, he's not playing the Saints. New Orleans has been awesome against tight ends this season, and the New York Giants absolutely have not.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Quiet against Saints

Goedert recorded three receptions on six targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Saints. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith combined to account for 22 targets on Gardner Minshew's 32 pass attempts, leaving little for other Philadelphia pass catchers. Goedert still managed to turn in a respectable performance, highlighted by receptions of 18 and 15 yards in the second half as the Eagles tried to get back into the game. In two games since returning from a shoulder injury, Goedert has combined to record six receptions for 112 yards.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Posts three catches in Week 16

Goedert gathered in all three of his targets for 67 yards during Saturday's 40-34 loss in Dallas. In his return to action following a five-game absence due to a shoulder injury, Goedert didn't appear worse for wear, but he also ranked fifth in targets on the Eagles behind DeVonta Smith (12), A.J. Brown (eight), Quez Watkins (five) and Kenneth Gainwell (four). On a positive note for Goedert, though, no other Philly tight end was targeted, so he seems to have retaken full control of the position. He was working with backup quarterback Gardner Minshew on Saturday with Jalen Hurts (shoulder) out, so Goedert's prospects could be lifted somewhat moving forward if Hurts is able to play in Weeks 17 and/or 18.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: TEs to Start

Fun fact, Goedert's parents named him Dallas because his father is a Cowboys fan. It's good to have Goedert back after he's missed the past five games with a shoulder injury, and hopefully he can pick up where he left off when he scored at least 11 PPR points in six of his first eight games before getting hurt in Week 10. Jalen Hurts (shoulder) is likely out this week, but Goedert should do fine with Gardner Minshew. In their lone start together in Week 13 last year at the Jets, Goedert had six catches for 105 yards and two touchdowns on six targets. Goedert has top-10 potential now that he's back for the Eagles.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Start Him (Lineup Decisions)

There's always trepidation in starting a player in his first game back from injured reserve, but Goedert should be in good shape coming back from a shoulder problem and not a lower-body problem. He's a huge target who won't run too far downfield, giving Minshew someone easy to lean on. The only tight ends I'd consider over Goedert are Travis Kelce, Evan Engram (weather permitting), Mark Andrews (quarterback permitting), Dalton Schultz and Dawson Knox (weather permitting).

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Comes off IR

The Eagles activated Goedert (shoulder) from injured reserve to the 53-man roster Tuesday. Goedert appeared to have a shot at suiting up for Sunday's win over the Bears, but he wasn't activated for the contest. Now however, as Adam Schefter of ESPN reports, the standout tight end is expected to suit up for Saturday's divisional road matchup against the Cowboys. The extent of Goedert's participation in practice should hint at whether he could have any limitations in his first action since Week 10. With Jalen Hurts (shoulder) looking uncertain for Week 16, though, it's also possible Goedert's return could come with Gardner Minshew under center.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Not off injured reserve yet

The Eagles didn't activate Goedert (shoulder) ahead of Sunday's game at Chicago, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. After missing the requisite four games on injured reserve, Goedert was designated for return Wednesday, which allowed him to practice for the first time since he injured his shoulder Week 10 against the Commanders. It appears Philadelphia will take a cautious approach with its No. 1 tight end, though, and keep him out for one more contest, with an eye toward returning next Saturday, Dec. 24 in Dallas. In the meantime, Jack Stoll and Grant Calcaterra will continue to man the position for the Eagles.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Looks on track to play

Goedert (shoulder) wouldn't confirm Wednesday that he'll play Sunday against the Bears, but he took part in practice and appears on track to return from injured reserve this weekend, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Goedert won't be included on the official injury report because he's technically still on injured reserve. The Eagles designated him for return from IR on Wednesday, opening a 21-day window in which he can practice with the team while not counting against the active roster. He'll likely be back on the roster soon enough, however, and quite possibly in time for the matchup with the Bears. The tight end has already resided on IR for the minimum amount of four games.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Resumes practicing

The Eagles designated Goedert (shoulder) for return from injured reserve Wednesday. The transaction opens up a 21-day window wherein the Eagles can evaluate Goedert in practice, but the 27-year-old will likely be added back to the 53-man roster well before that three-week window expires. In fact, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer relays that the Eagles anticipate Goedert will be ready to play this Sunday against the Bears, provided he doesn't experience any setbacks in practice over the next three days. Whenever he's activated, Goedert should slot back atop the depth chart at tight end, resulting in Jack Stoll and Grant Calcaterra losing out on work. Goedert's impending return will provide yet another boost to an Eagles offense that has been averaging 35 points per game during his four-week absence.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Works off to side Thursday

Goedert (shoulder) was spotted working out off to the side at Thursday's practice, Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Since he's only missed three games thus far since being placed on injured reserve Nov. 16, Goedert won't be eligible to begin taking part in practice with the Eagles' healthy players until after Sunday's matchup with the Giants. Based on what he was able to do off to the side Thursday -- Tolentino notes that Goedert looked "very smooth" while running sprints and cutting around cones -- the tight end looks like he'll be ready to mix back into drills next week and potentially return from IR in advance of the Eagles' Dec. 18 game in Chicago. None of the Eagles' three tight ends (Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra and Tyree Jackson) have been overly involved in the passing attack in Goedert's absence the past three games; instead, No. 3 wideout Quez Watkins (shoulder) has been the main beneficiary of Goedert's vacated target volume.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Sheds shoulder sling

Goedert (shoulder) said Wednesday that he's no longer wearing a sling and expects to return from injured reserve after missing the minimum four games, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Goedert's recovery appears to be continuing on track and free of setbacks, so the Eagles' plan remains for him to be back on the field when first eligible Week 15 in Chicago. The 27-year-old's impact on offense can't be understated, especially as Philadelphia eyes a playoff run, so the tight end's health will be one of the team's top priorities. If Goedert is indeed able to return Week 15, he could also have a shot to contribute late in the fantasy season, though managers will need to account for the possibility that he's eased back into action and handles a limited snap count out of the gate.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Hopes to return in mid-December

Goedert (shoulder) said Wednesday that he hopes to return from injured reserve after a minimum four-week stay and play in a Dec. 18 game against the Bears in Week 15, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Though Goedert is eyeing a minimum-length stay on IR, a decision on when he's available to play again will ultimately hinge on how his shoulder responds in the coming weeks. The Eagles are left with Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra and Tyree Jackson at tight end, but none of those three players are likely to directly inherit the 5.8 targets per game that Goedert has averaged this season.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Officially moves to IR

The Eagles placed Goedert (shoulder) on injured reserve Wednesday. Goedert suffered the shoulder injury in the second half of the Eagles' loss to the Commanders on Monday, when he was tackled to the ground on an uncalled facemask and charged with a lost fumble. The Eagles reportedly don't believe Goedert is done for the season, but the tight end will have to miss at least four weeks now that he's been placed on IR. Philadelphia will have to rely on a combination of Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra and Tyree Jackson (knee) to hold down the fort at tight end, but the loss of a playmaker of Goedert's caliber could limit the Eagles' effectiveness on offense.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Out indefinitely due to shoulder

Goedert is expected to miss extended time after suffering a shoulder injury in Monday's 32-21 loss to the Commanders, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. The exact nature of Goedert's injury isn't yet known, nor has a timeline for a return been established or a decision been made on whether or not he'll go on injured reserve, but the Eagles don't believe the tight end will be lost for the season. In Monday's game, Goedert recorded three receptions for 23 yards and a touchdown on three targets, but he had a key lost fumble in the fourth quarter. On that lost fumble, Goedert was grabbed in the facemask by a Washington defender, but a penalty wasn't called and Goedert appeared to suffer the injury on the play in question. The Eagles are likely to offer further details on Goedert's injury in the days to come, but expect the team to turn to a combination of Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra and Tyree Jackson (knee) to fill in for him at tight end for the next few weeks.

  • Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Paces pass catchers in Week 9 win

Goedert brought in eight of nine targets for 100 yards and a touchdown during the Eagles' 29-17 win over the Texans on Thursday night. Goedert and Jalen Hurts consistently tormented the Texans' defense throughout the night, the former pacing the Eagles in receptions, receiving yards and targets in the process. The fifth-year tight end's catch total tied a season high as well, and the 100-yard effort was his first since Week 15 of last season. Goedert recorded his second touchdown of the season on a four-yard grab early in the fourth quarter for good measure, and he'll next take aim at the Commanders in a Week 10 home divisional clash on Monday night, Nov. 14.
