Buccaneers' Chase Edmonds: Going to injured reserve
The Buccaneers placed Edmonds (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Edmonds exited this past Sunday's win over the Bears due to a knee injury and was ruled out after halftime. On Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Edmonds was slated for an MRI, specifically referring to his MCL. While the extent of the injury isn't clear, Edmonds will miss at least the next four games. The Buccaneers will continue to lean on Rachaad White out of their backfield, with Sean Tucker operating as the clear top backup.

Buccaneers' Chase Edmonds: Needs MRI
Edmonds will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of his MCL injury, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Edmonds was forced out of Sunday's win over the Bears, and it appears that the Buccaneers are concerned about him potentially having suffered a long-term injury. If Edmonds ends up having to miss time, it could pave the way for Ke'Shawn Vaughn to be active on game days behind Rachaad White and Sean Tucker.

Buccaneers' Chase Edmonds: Minor role in Week 1 win
Edmonds rushed twice for eight yards and wasn't targeted in the Buccaneers' 20-17 win over the Vikings on Sunday.
Rachaad White and Sean Tucker handled the bulk of the Buccaneers' work in the ground game, with the former comfortably leading the way with 17 carries. That left Edmonds with a very modest touch count, and surprisingly, a total absence of targets. Offensive coordinator Dave Canales repeatedly made mention of Edmonds' diverse skill set in the ramp-up to the regular season, so the minor Week 1 role could prove to be an outlier as the season unfolds.
