  • Giants' Oshane Ximines: Staying in New York

Ximines re-signed with the Giants on Wednesday, Art Stapleton of USA Today reports. Ximines will now remain in New York for the 2023 campaign, marking his fifth season in the organization. The 2019 third-round pick logged 24 tackles (15 solo) and two sacks in 15 games last season, and he should continue to provide value as a rotational player behind starting edge rushers Kayvon Thibodeaux and Azeez Ojulari in 2023.

  • Giants' Oshane Ximines: Out for second straight week

Ximines (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Seahawks, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Ximines has been ruled out for a second straight contest due to a quadriceps injury he suffered during the team's Week 6 win over Baltimore. Tomon Fox played a season-high 31 defensive snaps in Week 7 and figures to garner a similar role against Seattle.

  • Giants' Oshane Ximines: Not available Sunday

Ximines (undisclosed) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Eagles. Ximines was activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, but he will remain sidelined due to conditioning issues. The 25-year-old has appeared in only one game since Week 8, so his absence shouldn't impact the Giants' defensive gameplan.

  • Giants' Oshane Ximines: Back from COVID list

Ximines (illness) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles due to conditioning issues, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Ximines tested positive for the virus Dec. 15 and has cleared the health and safety protocols, but he's still ramping up from his time on the COVID list. The 25-year-old has appeared in only one game since Week 8, so he may not be active Sunday even if cleared to suit up.

  • Giants' Oshane Ximines: Undergoes surgery

Ximines (shoulder) underwent rotator cuff surgery Wednesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. The timing of Ximines' rotator cuff procedure seems to suggest that he won't be activated from IR, though the Giants designated him for a return to practice Nov. 23. With Kyler Fackrell (lower leg) now also on IR, Cam Brown and Carter Coughlin will both be candidates to handle increased defensive roles.
