  • Packers' Tyler Davis: Re-ups with Green Bay

The Packers re-signed Davis on Wednesday, the team announced. The 25-year-old has appeared in 31 games for the Packers over the last two seasons, catching eight passes for 61 yards while seeing heavy snaps on special teams. Perhaps he'll be given more of an offensive look with Robert Tonyan and Marcedes Lewis free agents this offseason.

  • Packers' Tyler Davis: Draws first target since Week 5

Davis failed to secure his lone target while playing nine of the Packers' 49 snaps on offense in Sunday's 40-33 loss to the Eagles. The second-quarter target Davis drew Sunday -- which was intercepted by safety Reed Blankenship -- was the tight end's first since Week 5 against the Giants. On the few occasions he takes the field with the offense, Davis will likely continue to be deployed primarily as a blocker.

  • Packers' Tyler Davis: Tallies two receptions

Davis brought in both targets for 26 yards in Sunday's victory over the Buccaneers. Davis did not do a lot in the box score, but he did have a 23-yard reception and was the only Packers tight end other than Robert Tonyan to catch a pass. Davis remains behind both Tonyan and Marcedes Lewis on the depth chart, but based on both output and snap counts, he has surpassed fellow tight end Josiah Deguara heading into Week 4.

  • Packers' Tyler Davis: Loses fumble Friday

Davis was targeted once, caught one pass for seven yards and lost a fumble in Friday's exhibition contest against the Saints. Davis started at tight end in Friday's contest, but he was limited to the lone look and had a ball slip through his hands for the second time in as many weeks. The Packers like Davis' potential, but he has not done himself any favors over the last couple weeks.

  • Packers' Tyler Davis: Quiet in exhibition opener

Davis was targeted twice but did not catch a pass in Friday's preseason game against the 49ers. Davis started Friday's contest and saw a red-zone look from quarterback Jordan Love in the first quarter, but the ball went through his hands and resulted in an interception for the opponent. Davis came on late last season and has made some noise since the offseason began, but in addition to the drop he also had some issues in the blocking department, so that was not the start to the exhibition season he was looking for.

  • Packers' Tyler Davis: Trends upward in 2021

Davis was targeted five times and caught four passes for 35 yards over 14 appearances in the 2021 season. The Packers signed Davis off the Colts' practice squad in late September, and he wound up seeing action in every game the rest of the way. He filled a reserve role in each contest, but his snap count increased as the season went on, and he may have done enough to be brought back by the Packers for another go-around.

  • Packers' Tyler Davis: Eligible to play Sunday

Davis (illness) was activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday. Davis and Marcedes Lewis were both activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list, paving the way for the Packers to have their full complement of tight ends available for Sunday's contest. Davis has played just 31 offensive snaps over the last two weeks.

  • Packers' Tyler Davis: Moves to COVID list

Davis (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday. Davis is now in the health and safety protocols in advance of Week 17. He's played 31 offensive snaps across the past two games and has one reception for 22 yards.

  • Packers' Tyler Davis: Catches first career pass

Davis was targeted once and caught one pass for four yards in Sunday's 17-0 victory over the Seahawks. Davis played a season-high 12 snaps Sunday with fellow tight end Dominique Dafney (hamstring) sidelined, and he was able to record his first career reception in the contest. While Davis was more involved Sunday, he still finished third among Packers tight ends in snaps, and he figures to continue filling only a bit role.

  • Packers' Tyler Davis: Signed by Green Bay

The Packers signed Davis from the Colts' practice squad Tuesday. Davis appeared in eight games as a rookie with the Jaguars last season. After being released by Jacksonville following the 2021 training camp, the second-year tight end signed with the Colts' practice squad. The Packers let go of 2019 third-round pick Jace Sternberger following his two-game suspension and recently placed Dominique Dafney (hip) on IR, so Davis should provide some much-needed depth to their tight end room.

  • Jaguars' Tyler Davis: Waived by Jacksonville

The Jaguars waived Davis on Tuesday. Davis appeared in eight games as a rookie, dropping one of his two targets. He will likely clear waivers and end up on the Jaguars' practice squad this season.

  • Jaguars' Tyler Davis: Sitting out Sunday

Davis (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chargers, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports. Starter Tyler Eifert (neck) is unavailable Sunday, so it's notable the rookie still isn't suiting up versus Los Angeles. Davis is without a catch on two targets in four games this season. James O'Shaughnessy will operate as Jacksonville's top tight end in Week 7.

  • Jaguars' Tyler Davis: Full speed ahead

Davis (knee) practiced fully Wednesday and will be available for Thursday's game versus the Dolphins. The rookie sixth-rounder could make his NFL debut Thursday night. He'll likely operate mostly on special teams since he's expected to be the No. 3 TE behind Tyler Eifert and James O'Shaugnessy.

  • Jaguars' Tyler Davis: Will miss second straight game

Davis (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Titans. The rookie sixth-rounder's NFL debut will be put on hold for another week. Tyler Eifert and James O'Shaughnessy are expected to lead the Jaguars in tight end snaps Sunday, and the team may activate UDFA Ben Ellefson from the practice squad before kickoff.

  • Jaguars' Tyler Davis: Won't face Indianapolis

Davis (knee) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Colts. Davis' next chance to take the field will come Week 2 against the Titans. The rookie sixth-round pick profiles as more of a blocker than a receiver, so his absence won't have much of an impact on Jacksonville's aerial approach.

  • Jaguars' Tyler Davis: Dealing with knee injury

Davis was listed on Jacksonville's injury report Wednesday with a knee injury. This is the first we're hearing of an injury with the rookie tight end, but it could put his status for Sunday's season opener against the Colts in jeopardy. As more of a blocker than a receiver, Davis wasn't ticketed for a significant fantasy role either way.

  • Jaguars' Tyler Davis: Jacksonville selects in sixth

The Jaguars selected Davis in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 206th overall. Davis played a part-time role during his four-year career at Georgia Tech, never amassing more than 22 catches in a season. He notched 17 catches for 148 yards and one touchdown as a senior in 2019. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end now stands to compete for a depth role as a blocker in Jacksonville.
