The Texans signed Bachman to their practice squad Wednesday.
Bachman spent time in training camp with Houston before he was put on injured reserve with an oblique injury in late August. He was subsequently waived with an injury settlement, but he's now back with the organization after presumably returning to full health. Bachman last saw NFL action in 2021, when he worked as a punt and kick returner while logging 29 offensive snaps over three games with the Giants.

Bachman was waived by Houston with an injury settlement prior to final roster cuts earlier in the year. After a few quiet months, the pass catcher appears to be healthy once again. However, it remains to be seen if he will get a shot with the Texans' practice squad.

The Texans removed Bachman (oblique) from IR with an injury settlement Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Bachman will now be free to sign with another team once fully healthy, though that will take some time as he's recovering from a torn oblique. The 27-year-old initially landed on IR on Aug. 22.

Following this transaction, Bachman will spend the entire year sidelined unless he and the team can reach an injury settlement. Houston has not provided clarity on the extent of the injury. The 27-year-old was aiming to earn a spot on the team's 53-man roster providing depth at wide receiver.

Bachman signed with the Texans' practice squad Nov. 15, but he never made his way to the active roster before the season came to a close. The 26-year-old previously spent time with the Giants in 2020 and 2021, appearing in a total of four contests, but he never saw a target. He'll work to earn a role in Houston next season.

Giants' Alex Bachman: Increases roster odds with big game
Bachman hauled in 11 of 14 targets for 122 yards and two touchdowns in a 25-22 preseason win over the Bengals on Sunday.
Bachman was pretty quiet in New York's first exhibition contest against New England, catching two passes for 17 yards. He exploded with a huge performance Sunday, however, leading the Giants in targets, catches and receiving yards while hauling in both of the team's receiving scores. All of Bachman's work came with third-string quarterback Davis Webb behind center, and the pair connected on a pair of fourth-quarter TDs, including one that gave New York the comeback win with 35 seconds remaining in the contest. Bachman has been thought to be on the bubble for the 53-man roster, so it's possible that this performance will go a long way toward making his case for a spot on the team.

The Giants signed Bachman to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Bachman made three appearances this season for New York, all coming in the last four games. His most productive outing came in Week 18, when he played 36 total snaps (25 offensive) and totaled one carry for minus-three yards. He also added one punt return for 16 yards and four kick returns for 94 yards during the contest.
