Seahawks' Cade Johnson: Sticks in Seattle after 2022 season
Johnson signed a reserve/future contract with the Seahawks on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Johnson was elevated from the practice squad for the fourth time this season ahead of Saturday's loss to San Francisco in the wild-card round. The 24-year-old, who stepped up as Seattle's de-facto No. 3 wideout over the final three games with Marquise Godwin (shoulder) out, snagged all three of his targets for a season-high 39 yards during this playoff tilt. He then reverted to the practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log, and he'll now ink his second reserve/future contract with the Seahawks in as many seasons. This productive showing to end the year should give Johnson a solid base to build on heading into the 2023 campaign.

Seahawks' Cade Johnson: Three grabs in wild-card loss
Johnson caught all three of his targets for 39 yards in Saturday's 41-23 wild-card loss to the 49ers.
The undrafted rookie out of South Dakota State emerged as Seattle's No. 3 wideout late in the regular season after Marquise Goodwin (shoulder) got hurt, and Johnson wound up posting the best numbers of his career in his playoff debut, even if his production was modest. The Seahawks have some questions to answer in the offseason regarding their offense, starting with whether to bring back Geno Smith at quarterback, but no matter who's under center there won't likely be much volume available in the passing game behind the top duo of DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

Seattle elevated Johnson to the active roster from the practice squad Friday for Saturday's wild-card matchup against the 49ers, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Johnson has been elevated for a third straight week. Over his previous two appearances, he totaled two receptions on four targets for 21 yards across 54 offensive snaps. He figures to garner a similar role during the playoff matchup against San Francisco.

Johnson was elevated from the practice squad for the second week in a row ahead of Sunday's regular-season finale win against the Rams. The 5-foot-10 receiver wound up playing the most significant role of his young career, as his 29 offensive snaps ranked third on the team behind DK Metcalf (58) and Tyler Lockett (55) but ahead of Dareke Young (17) and Laquon Treadwell (five). The Seahawks elevated Johnson from the practice squad Saturday for Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Rams, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
Johnson will be elevated from the practice for the third time this season and the second game in a row. The 24-year-old wideout did not haul in either of his two targets while playing 25 offensive snaps against the Jets in Week 17, though it's possible he could once again see some significant playing time with Tyler Lockett nursing a shin injury heading into the regular-season finale.
