Texans' Jalen Camp: Earns new deal
Camp (oblique) signed a reserve/future contract with the Texans on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Camp closed the season on the team's practice squad injured list. The 2021 sixth-round selection of the Jaguars played two games for Houston this season, catching his only target for seven yards. He'll work to earn a larger role with the team next year.

The Texans placed Camp (oblique) on their practice squad injured list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Camp was elevated to Houston's active roster from the practice squad ahead of Week 14, but he suffered an oblique injury during the loss to Dallas that's landed him on the practice squad injured list. Given the Texans have been eliminated from the playoffs and have only four regular-season games left, Camp's 2022 campaign is officially over. The 2021 sixth-round pick caught his only target for seven yards across 20 offensive snaps in two appearances.

Jalen Camp: Returns to practice squad
Camp (oblique) reverted to the Texans' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Camp was moved up to the active roster for the second game in a row as wideouts Brandin Cooks (personal) and Nico Collins (foot) both remained out Week 14. However, the practice-squad receiver only appeared on six offensive snaps before he was forced out with an oblique injury, thus falling well behind the playing time for Phillip Dorsett (54), Chris Moore (53) and Amari Rodgers (36). Camp will now be eligible for one more elevation from the practice; however, with his health status now up in the air, it's unclear if he'll be activated versus Kansas City on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Camp, who was elevated to Houston's active roster from its practice squad Saturday, departed this weekend's matchup versus Dallas with an apparent oblique issue. With the second-year pro temporarily sidelined, along with the absences of fellow receivers Brandin Cooks (calf), Nico Collins (foot) and John Metchie (illness), the Texans are in line to move forward with Phillip Dorsett, Chris Moore and Amari Rodgers for the time being.

The Texans elevated Camp from the practice squad Saturday for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
Camp will step up with top wideouts Brandin Cooks (personal) and Nico Collins (foot) both ruled out Week 14. While the practice-squad receiver has seen the field only once so far this season, catching his lone target for seven yards over 14 offensive snaps Week 9, he'll likely vie with Amari Rodgers for a role as Houston's No. 3 receiver against Dallas. Since this is Camp's third elevation from the Texans' practice squad, he will now require a full spot on the active roster to suit up for the team again in 2022.

Camp caught his lone target for seven yards in Thursday's 29-17 loss to Philadelphia in Week 9.
Both Camp (15 snaps) and Tyron Johnson (25 snaps, one target) were on the active roster with Brandin Cooks (personal) and Nico Collins (groin) inactive, but neither wideout stood out. Cooks is expected to be ready for Week 10 against the Giants, so one of these two likely will be sitting.
