Quinn Nordin: Let go Wednesday
The Patriots waived Nordin (undisclosed) from the reserve/non-football injury list Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Nordin joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in May 2021, but despite being a part of the organization for most of the past two years, he has yet to make his NFL regular-season debut. The 24-year-old spent the entire 2022 campaign on the reserve list, and whether or not he'll be healthy enough to compete for a job somewhere in 2023 remains to be seen.

Patriots' Quinn Nordin: Reverts back to reserve list
Nordin (undisclosed) reverted back to New England's reserve/non-football injury list after clearing waivers on Monday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
After the Patriots waived him Friday, Nordin will not count against the team's 90-man offseason roster while on the NFI list. The 2020 undrafted free agent, who has yet to make his NFL debut, will have a chance to fully recover before potentially competing for a roster spot, be it in New England or elsewhere around the league.

The Patriots waived Nordin (undisclosed) on Friday.
Nordin latched on with the Patriots last year but dealt with an abdomen injury and never made his NFL debut. Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, the undrafted kicker out of Michigan hasn't been practicing this spring due to a possible injury. In a corresponding move, New England signed Tristan Vizcaino, who worked out with the team during the team's minicamp this week.

Nordin hasn't been practicing this spring due to an injury, and he'll revert to the reserve/NFI list if he passes through waivers. After waiving Nordin, New England signed Tristan Vizcaino to provide additional depth at kicker during camp.

Nordin landed a spot on the Patriots' 53-man roster ahead of the regular season but was placed on injured reserve in mid-September before being waived by the team. He rejoined the team's practice squad in early December but didn't make any appearances during the 2021 campaign. The 23-year-old is known for his leg strength and could compete to serve as the Patriots' starting kicker during training camp in 2022.

Veteran kicker Nick Folk has been having a strong campaign for the Patriots, but he has been managing (and playing through) a left knee issue, with Cox suggesting that the move is likely is a way to get Nordin some practice reps while lightening Folk's load in the process. With that in mind, Nordin has a 21 day-window before the team would need to add him to the 53-man roster or have him revert him to season-ending IR if that doesn't happen.

The Patriots may activate Nick Folk from the practice squad to replace Nordin as the primary placekicker for Sunday's game against Miami, Ryan Hannable of WEEI.com reports.
Coach Bill Belichick said "there's a lot of merit" to calling Folk up before Sunday's game. The Patriots want to keep Nordin and may be worried about losing him on waivers, but he could end up a healthy scratch Week 1, or else relegated to kickoffs and long-distance attempts.

Nordin's leg strength presumably gave him the edge over Folk, but we'll have to see what, if any, other kicker moves the Patriots make as time goes on, now that Folk is on the practice squad. As things stand, Nordin is in line to kick behind a New England offense helmed by rookie QB Mac Jones. In that context, the UDFA out of Michigan profiles as a streaming fantasy option while New England's new-look attack gels.
