In all likelihood, Sanchez will require surgery and will miss the entire 2022 season. Besides being considered one of the better punters in the league, Sanchez is the only one on Indianapolis' roster, so the Colts will need to seek a replacement on the free-agent market.

Sanchez is recovering from Nov. 30 surgery, which removed a cancerous tumor from his ankle. It appears he's ready to return to the lineup in Sunday's game against the Texans. Sanchez has averaged 46.4 yards per punt this season, landing 40 percent of his boots within the 20-yard line.

Sanchez (illness) will try to practice and punt this year, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.
Sanchez is recovering from successful surgery Nov. 30, which removed a cancerous tumor. Ryan Allen was elevated from the practice squad to punt in Sanchez's place in last week's win over the Raiders. Allen will punt until Sanchez can return.

Sanchez will undergo surgery Tuesday to remove a cancerous tumor, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Sanchez relayed that the Colts' team doctors found the tumor and will be able to catch it before it spreads. The 26-year-old punter will be away from the team as he focuses on his health.

Sanchez has filled in admirably at punter for the Colts since All-Pro Pat McAfee retired following the 2016 season. The Hawaii product pinned 24 of his 57 punts inside the 20-yard line last season while ranking third in net punting average (42.7) and fifth in kickoff touchbacks (59). Unsurprisingly, the Colts have opted to reward him with an extension.
