The Rams signed Carter to a reserve/future contract Monday, Stu Jackson of the team's official site reports.
Carter signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent in May of 2022, and after failing to make the initial 53-man roster, he signed with Los Angeles' practice squad. The Georgia State product made his NFL debut in Week 11, but he played primarily on special teams and didn't record any counting stats. Carter made his NFL debut in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. After signing with the team as a UDFA and failing to make the active roster, Carter has been working on the practice squad and finally received an opportunity to play Sunday. Carter was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster by the Rams on Saturday.
After signing with Los Angeles' practice squad Sept. 1, Carter will get the first elevation of his NFL career ahead of Sunday's contest versus the Chiefs. The 23-year-old caught 20 passes for 323 yards and two touchdowns as a senior at Georgia State last season but went unselected in the draft last April.
