  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Excellent usage to end season

Parkinson caught three of six targets for 14 yards in Saturday's 41-23 playoff loss to the 49ers. Parkinson's usage immediately skyrocketed when Will Dissly (knee) went down with a knee injury, as he played at 79 percent of the offensive snaps over the final two regular-season games. He also recorded 16 targets over the final three games, including the postseason. Most importantly, he ran ahead of former first-round pick Noah Fant in all three of those games. Parkinson still never posted more than 47 yards in a game all season. The Seahawks' tight end room will be tough to decipher heading into the 2023 season, as Parkinson, Fant and Dissly are all projected to be on the roster again.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Remains top tight end in Seattle

Parkinson caught two of three targets for 47 yards in Sunday's 19-16 overtime win over the Rams. Parkinson's Week 17 usage wasn't a fluke. He operated as the top tight end ahead of Noah Fant for a second straight game Sunday, as Parkinson handled 55 snaps (79 percent) while Fant clocked in at 45 snaps (64 percent). The usage is certainly intriguing, so Parkinson has a chance to be the No. 3 pass catcher behind DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett in Seattle in any given week.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Operates as No. 1 tight end

Parkinson caught five of six targets for 36 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-6 win over the Jets. Parkinson worked as the Seahawks' clear No. 3 tight end all season behind Will Dissly and Noah Fant. Dissly since has been placed on injured reserve with a knee injury, but instead of shifting to the No. 2 role, Parkinson operated as the top TE in Week 17. Parkinson played 80 percent of the offensive snaps while Fant was targeted three times and handled a 63 percent share. It's worth monitoring this usage again Week 18, and Parkinson is worth keeping tabs on.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Best performance of 2022

Parkinson caught three of four targets for 45 yards in Saturday's 24-10 loss to the Chiefs. With Tyler Lockett (hand) out of the lineup and Marquise Goodwin leaving briefly with a wrist injury, Parkinson handled a season-high 30 offensive snaps and finished with season highs in catches and receiving yards. Most notably, he played more snaps than veteran Will Dissly. We should expect Dissly to reclaim the No. 2 role because he's a skilled run-blocker, but this is a competition worth keeping tabs on in deeper fantasy leagues.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Season-high snap count

Parkinson hauled in both of his targets for a total of six yards in Sunday's 31-21 win over the Cardinals. The third-year tight end logged a season-high 29 offensive snaps. Parkinson still hasn't made much of a fantasy impact this year, as he has just 12 catches for 165 yards and one touchdown through nine games.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: No targets Sunday

Parkinson wasn't targeted in Sunday's 39-32 loss to the Saints. Parkinson has caught six passes for 115 yards and a touchdown through five games. The 23-year-old has averaged just 18.8 snaps per game, so until his usage increases, he'll have limited fantasy upside.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Registers 44 yards

Parkinson caught both of his targets for 44 yards in Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Falcons. Through three games, Parkinson leads all Seahawks tight ends with 87 receiving yards, while Will Dissly (77) and Noah Fant (54) trail closely behind. None of these players are dependable for fantasy purposes at this time.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Snags one pass in loss

Parkinson caught one of three targets for five yards in Saturday's 32-25 preseason loss to the Steelers. Parkinson led all Seahawks tight ends with 34 offensive snaps, as Will Dissly got the night off and Noah Fant was limited to 20 snaps. The 2020 fourth-round pick was targeted in the end zone in the third quarter but was unable to hang on as he was hit by multiple defenders while attempting to make the catch. Parkinson has a good chance to make the roster as the No. 3 tight end behind Fant and Dissly, as his unique 6-foot-7 build makes him an intriguing red-zone target.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Just five catches in second season

Parkinson caught five passes (eight targets) for 33 yards over 14 games during the 2021 season. Parkinson re-injured his foot in August and ended up missing the first three games of the season as a result. He rarely played when both Gerald Everett and Will Dissly were healthy, as he averaged just four offensive snaps between Weeks 6 and 15. The 6-foot-7, 251-pound tight end was decently productive in college but simply hasn't made an impact at the NFL level. Both Everett and Dissly will be free agents in March. Dissly will likely stick around, but a pass-catching role could open up if Everett walks. Parkinson will likely face competition in training camp regardless.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Receives one target

Parkinson didn't catch his lone target in Sunday's 25-24 loss to the Bears. Even with Will Dissly in COVID-19 protocol, Parkinson couldn't get anything going offensively. The 2020 fourth-round pick will continue to work as a specialist once Dissly returns to the lineup.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Just four snaps

Parkinson didn't receive a target in Sunday's 23-20 overtime loss to the Steelers. Parkinson played just four snaps on offense because both Gerald Everett and Will Dissly were active. As long Dissly and Everett are healthy, Parkinson will likely handle a limited role on offense.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Makes season debut

Parkinson didn't receive a target in Sunday's 28-21 win over the 49ers. Parkinson logged 38 of 56 offensive snaps (68 percent) because Gerald Everett was on the COVID-19 list. The 22-year-old tight end drew high praise from head coach Pete Carroll during training camp before suffering a foot injury. However, his role this season will likely be minimal once Everett returns.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Added to active roster

The Seahawks activated Parkinson (foot) from injured reserve Saturday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Parkinson was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday and will be active against the 49ers on Sunday. The 22-year-old tight end battled his foot injury throughout his rookie season, so it's unclear what type of role he can play for Seattle's offense. With Gerald Everett (illness) likely unavailable Sunday, Parkinson will be needed for depth behind Will Dissly and Tyler Mabry.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Expects to return Week 4

Parkinson (foot) is expected to return from the Seahawks' injured reserve and suit up for Sunday's matchup with the 49ers, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports. While the expectation is that he will return, Parkinson hasn't officially been activated yet. With Gerald Everett (illness) likely unavailable, Parkinson would provide depth at tight end behind Will Dissly and Tyler Mabry if ultimately given the green light.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Lands on IR

The Seahawks placed Parkinson (foot) on injured reserve Tuesday, John Boyle of Seahawks.com reports. During training camp, Parkinson re-injured the same foot that kept him out of the majority of his rookie season, so it's no surprise that the Seahawks are being cautious to start the season. He will only have to miss the first three weeks of the 2021 campaign and will be eligible to return Week 4 if he is healthy.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Won't be ready to return this week

Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Parkinson (foot) won't be ready to return this week, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. The Seahawks were hopeful they would get Parkinson back by the start of the regular season, but they will elect to be cautious, as he broke the same foot last year. Tyler Mabry has been promoted to the active roster ahead of Week 1 and will serve as the third tight end behind Will Dissly and Gerald Everett.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Hopeful for Week 1

Coach Pete Carroll said Sunday that Parkinson (foot) will run this week and that there's still hope he can be ready by Week 1, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. Parkinson was slated to be the third tight end behind Will Dissly and Gerald Everett this season, and still will be if he is able to return for the regular season. However, the Seahawks are likely to be extra cautious, as the 22-year-old broke the same foot last year.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Uncertain for Week 1

Head coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday that Parkinson has a "real slight" nondisplaced fracture in his foot and remains uncertain for Week 2, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. Carroll added we won't know for a while if Parkinson will be cleared for the season opener. In turn, the Seahawks added free agent TE Luke Willson for depth behind Gerald Everett and Will Dissly. The Seahawks will likely take a cautious approach with Parkinson -- who they selected in the fourth round of the 2020 draft -- because of the delicate nature of foot injuries. Once the 6-foot-7 tight end is cleared, he should claim the No. 3 role.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Receives encouraging news

Parkinson won't require foot surgery and could return in a few weeks, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. The 6-foot-7, 251-pound tight end made little impact last season, but he was impressing in training camp before re-injuring the foot that he broke last summer. Foot injuries are always tricky, but it's encouraging that Parkinson won't need surgery and could possibly be ready for Week 1. Even if he's in the lineup for the season opener, he'll be stuck behind Gerald Everett and Will Dissly, so fantasy managers can safely leave him off their radar. Nevertheless, it's worth keeping tabs on his performance, as he could become useful in 2022 if Everett leaves in free agency.

  • Seahawks' Colby Parkinson: Could return in a few weeks

Parkinson (foot) could return to action in a matter of weeks, as his injury isn't expected to require surgery, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. The 2020 fourth-round pick suffered a broken fifth metatarsal in his foot last summer and spent the first half of his rookie season on the non-football injury list. He was activated at the end of October and barely played, but reports out of Seattle training camp this summer suggest Parkinson has looked much better heading into Year 2. That doesn't necessarily mean he'll have a role in the offense once he's healthy, but it does at least put him on track for a back-end roster spot. The latest issue with Parkinson's foot reportedly isn't too serious, despite initial concerns that it would require another surgery.
