After failing to make it through Green Bay's final roster cuts, Melton (hamstring) landed on the team's practice squad Wednesday.
Melton spent training camp competing against a plethora of pass catchers for a depth receiving and special teams role with the Packers. While he ultimately came up short in favor of the likes of Samori Toure, Dontayvion Wicks (hamstring) and undrafted free agent Malik Heath, he will remain with the team on their practice unit and continue looking to make an impression. The 24-year-old spent most of his rookie season on Seattle's practice squad before landing in Green Bay in December.

Melton was signed to the Packers' 53-man roster from the Seahawks' practice squad Tuesday.
Melton was selected in the seventh round of the 2022 draft, and he was unable to break camp with Seattle's active roster. However, he did land a spot on the team's practice squad, where he has remained since Aug. 31. He'll now get a chance with the Packers and potentially play Sunday against the Vikings.

Melton led all Seahawks wide receivers in targets and offensive snaps (47). He didn't prove much with the opportunity, though the quarterbacks completed just 51 percent of their passes in the exhibition game. Melton led the team with 47 receiving yards in the preseason opener, so he's set up well to secure a final spot on the 53-man roster if he can finish training camp strong.

Seahawks' Bo Melton: Paces team in receiving yards
Melton caught two of three targets for 47 yards in Saturday's 32-25 preseason loss to the Steelers.
With DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Freddie Swain (back) and Dee Eskridge (hamstring) sitting out, Melton had a good opportunity to serve as the team's top wide receiver. He played half of the offensive snaps in the exhibition game and led the team in receiving yards. Most of his yardage came on the first play of the second half when he took a short pass from Drew Lock and showcased his speed for a 39-yard gain. Melton is making a strong case for a roster spot and will take this momentum into Thursday's preseason clash against the Bears.

Melton (hamstring) participated in Thursday's practice session, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Melton was limited by a hamstring injury to close out voluntary OTAs in early June, but he appears to have moved past the issue now that training camp is underway. The 23-year-old will compete for a spot on the 53-man roster ahead of the regular season.
