  • Vikings' Greg Joseph: Re-signs with Minnesota

The Vikings re-signed Joseph to a one-year contract Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Joseph's deal is worth up to $2.5 million with incentives and will keep the Vikings' often reliable kicker in Minnesota for the 2023 campaign. The 28-year-old finished the 2022 season converting on 26 of his 33 field-goal attempts and 40 of his 46 extra-point tries. Joseph set the NFL record with five game-winning field goals last season.

  • Vikings' Greg Joseph: Dip in efficiency during 2022

Joseph converted 26 of his 33 field-goal attempts and went 40-for-46 on point-after tries over 17 games in the 2022 regular season. Joseph got off to a rough start during his second season with Minnesota, going 9-for-14 on field-goal tries over the first seven games. He did finish strong by not missing a single field-goal attempt in all but one of the final 11 games, including the wild-card loss to the Giants. However, Joseph particularly struggled from long range this season, as he knocked through four of his 10 field-goal attempts of 50 yards or more. He thus finished with both the most missed field goals and extra points of his career, so it's unclear if he'll be re-signed before becoming an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

  • Vikings' Greg Joseph: Kicker to Start

Greg Joseph struggled in Week 2 along with the rest of the Vikings and scored just one Fantasy point, but he should rebound this week against the Lions. In two games against Detroit last year, Joseph made seven field goals on eight attempts, along with one PAT. He should get plenty of scoring chances in this matchup and make up for his lack of production in Week 2.

  • Vikings' Greg Joseph: Standout effort in preseason finale

Joseph drilled field-goal attempts of 46 and 58 yards and converted his one extra-point try during the Vikings' 23-13 preseason loss to the Broncos on Saturday night. The four-year pro couldn't have asked for a better tune-up for the regular season, particularly boosting his confidence with his 58-yard conversion on the first play of the fourth quarter. The long-distance success is nothing new for Joseph, who went 7-for-9 on attempts from 50 yards and beyond a season ago. The Florida Atlantic product's already solid fantasy value could get another boost this season if new head coach Kevin O'Connell's offense generates quick returns.
