Jets' Zack Kuntz: Signed to 53-man roster
The Jets signed Kuntz to the 53-man roster Wednesday.
He takes the roster spot of offensive tackle Duane Brown )back), who was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. The 24-year-old Kuntz has never appeared in a regular-season game, but with Jeremy Ruckert (concussion) out for Thursday's game against the Browns and C.J. Uzomah (knee) on injured reserve, the tight end could make his NFL debut this week as a depth piece behind Tyler Conklin and Kenny Yeboah.

Zack Kuntz: Rejoins New York on practice squad
The Jets signed Kuntz to their practice squad Wednesday after he was waived by the team Tuesday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
The Jets took Kuntz in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He logged six catches for 41 yards and a touchdown in three preseason games. He'll stay with the Jets via their practice squad to start the 2023 season and await an opportunity to get called up.

The Jets waived Kuntz on Tuesday, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.
Kuntz was a seventh-round pick by the Jets in this year's draft but was unable to make the team's initial 53-man roster. He'll now seek out other opportunities ahead of the 2023 campaign.

Kuntz caught both of his targets for 17 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 27-0 preseason win over Carolina.
Kuntz found the end zone for the first time in his young NFL career from four yards out in the fourth quarter. The 2023 seventh-round pick out of Old Dominion has enticing physical tools, with excellent speed and leaping ability in a 6-foot-7, 255-pound frame; however, he's still viewed as more of a long-term project. His most likely outcome for 2023 is spending the season on the Jets' practice squad, as Tyler Conklin, C.J. Uzomah, Jeremy Ruckert (shoulder) and Kenny Yeboah are all ahead of Kuntz on the depth chart at tight end.

Kuntz secured his only target for six yards during the Jets' 21-16 preseason loss to the Browns in Thursday night's Hall of Fame Game.
The rookie seventh-round pick made a minimal offensive impact as his final line implies, but it was a quiet night overall for the Jets on that side of the ball. Kuntz had a lot of helium heading into the draft, thanks to his standout athletic profile. The 6-foot-7, 255-pounder ultimately slid down the board due to his relative lack of production in college at a combination of Penn State and Old Dominion. Kuntz is a raw prospect, but with some patience, he could emerge as a viable target in the Jets' pass-catching corps.
