Kevin Austin: Gets cut loose
Austin was waived by the Jaguars on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Austin spent 2022 on the team's practice squad after going undrafted out of Notre Dame. He was brought back on a reserve/future deal he signed in January, but he once again was not able to crack the team's 53-man roster. Although he could end up back on the team's practice squad, he also now has the chance to pursue opportunities with other teams.

Jaguars' Kevin Austin: Lands future deal
The Jaguars signed Austin to a reserve/future contract Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Austin spent the entire 2022 campaign on the Jaguars' practice squad. With his new contract, he'll be able to stick around the organization and have a chance to compete for a larger role during the offseason.

The undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame earned a practice squad slot after putting together a solid preseason. He secured one of three targets for 21 yards in three preseason appearances.

The Jaguars waived Austin on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Austin signed with the Jaguars in May as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame, where he led the Irish with 888 receiving yards and seven touchdowns during his final collegiate campaign. He caught one of three targets for 21 yards across three preseason games and now finds himself among a wave of cuts ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline.
