Broncos' P.J. Locke: Staying with Broncos
Locke and the Broncos agreed on a two-year, $7 million contract with a maximum value of $9 million Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Locke had a career year in 2023, recording 53 tackles, including 3.0 sacks, while intercepting a pass, deflecting five others and forcing two fumbles over 12 contests with Denver. The 27-year-old is the frontrunner to operate as the Broncos' starting strong safety in 2024.

Locke made 53 tackles (33 solo) including three sacks, defended five passes with one interception, and forced two fumbles while playing 12 games in 2023.
Locke set career highs in tackles, sacks, passes defended and interceptions. With fellow safety Kareem Jackson serving two suspensions during the season, Locke was thrust into a starting role for several games and made the most of his opportunities. The 27-year-old will enter free agency this offseason, but the Broncos could offer him a new contract based on his performance in 2023 and the fact that they waived Jackson before the end of the season.

Broncos' P.J. Locke: Records nine stops in Week 16 loss
Locke totaled nine tackles (five solo) Sunday in a loss to New England.
Locked play all 56 of Denver's defensive snaps Sunday and recorded a season-high nine stops. Kareem Jackson completed his four-game suspension ahead of the contest, but the Broncos chose not to activate him and then elected to waive him Monday. That should lock Locke into a starting safety role alongside Justin Simmons for the remainder of the campaign.

Broncos' P.J. Locke: Officially playing Saturday
Locke (neck) is active for Saturday's game against Detroit, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports.
Locke sat out of practice Tuesday and Wednesday but was able to log a limited session Thursday. That will be enough for him to suit up against the Lions for a key Week 15 matchup. Locke has seen his role increase over the past three weeks, working as the starter and compiling 22 total tackles over that span. He's also recorded one sack in each of the three contests.

Locke had seven tackles (two solo), including one sack, and a forced fumble in Sunday's 24-7 victory over the Chargers.
With Kareem Jackson still serving his suspension, Locke was able to register seven-plus tackles and a sack for the third straight game, and his 66 defensive snaps was the most he's played this season. He got a strip sack on backup quarterback Easton Stick late in the fourth quarter, which teammate Josey Jewell recovered. Over his last three games, Locke has 22 tackles (13 solo), including three sacks, two pass deflections and two forced fumbles.
