Player Outlook
The Jets receiving corps got crowded this offseason with the additions of Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman and Randall Cobb, even with the loss of Elijah Moore. But Wilson is the lead singer and should be the best receiver for the Jets -- and one of the best for Fantasy managers as well. The addition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers should bring out the best in Wilson, who thrived as a rookie in 2022 with every quarterback aside from Zach Wilson. In seven games with Joe Flacco or Mike White, Garrett Wilson averaged 17.6 PPR points per game, including three outings with at least 24 PPR points. At that average, he would have been the No. 7 PPR receiver in 2022. That's the type of upside Wilson has, and hopefully Rodgers can help him play at that level for a full season. Wilson is worth drafting in late Round 2 or early Round 3 in all leagues, and he should be viewed as a top-10 Fantasy receiver in all formats.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: WRs to Sit

We'll see what the Jets do with Trevor Siemian this week now that he's on the roster, and hopefully a quarterback change can save Wilson. Zach Wilson isn't getting the job done for Garrett Wilson, who had another rough game in Week 3 against the Patriots with five catches for 48 yards on nine targets. This is the downside for Wilson when he doesn't find the end zone, and I can't trust him in two-receiver leagues in Week 4 against the Chiefs. While Kansas City has allowed four receivers to score at least 12.0 PPR points this season, the Chiefs are still No. 7 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to wideouts this year.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Five catches in Week 3 loss

Wilson caught five of nine targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Patriots. The majority of Wilson's yardage came on a 29-yard catch on the game's third-to-last play, after which the Jets spiked the ball with one second left to set up a Hail Mary that bounced off Randall Cobb's hand. Zach Wilson threw for just 157 yards, but at least Garrett led the team in targets, catches and receiving yards. The second-year wide receiver has also accounted for two of the Jets' three offensive touchdowns through three weeks, and Wilson should continue to work as the top option in New York's underwhelming passing game in Week 4 against the Chiefs.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: WRs to Sit

Wilson has two touchdowns in two games with Zach Wilson, which is great. But how Garrett Wilson has scored is a little problematic. In Week 1 against Buffalo, Wilson had to play defense on a terrible throw into the end zone that he somehow turned into a touchdown. And in Week 2 at Dallas, Wilson scored on a 68-yard slant where Cowboys safety Malik Hooker missed a wide-open tackle. So far, Wilson has only seven catches for 117 yards on 13 targets, and the touchdowns have saved him. I'll start Wilson in three-receiver leagues in Week 3 against the Patriots, but he's outside the top 24 receivers in my rankings. As long as Zach Wilson is the starter for the Jets, Garrett Wilson will be tough to trust.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: No injury concerns

Coach Robert Saleh said Monday that Wilson (undisclosed) has been cleared of any injuries following Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Cowboys. Wilson had the wind knocked out of him in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss, but he didn't sustain any form of serious injury. He caught two of eight targets for 83 yards and a touchdown prior to leaving the field. With another tough defense on deck Week 3 when the Jets take on the Patriots, though, Wilson could be primed for another matchup in which Zach Wilson struggles to get the ball in his hands consistently.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Wind knocked out late in loss

Wilson (undisclosed) went to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 30-10 loss in Dallas, Connor Hughes of SportsNet New York reports. He caught two of eight targets for 83 yards and a touchdown prior to getting hurt. Wilson checked himself out of the game and went into the blue medical tent after consulting with trainers along the sideline. He was taken to the locker room in the final minutes of the blowout loss, in which Wilson scored New York's only touchdown on a 68-yard catch and run. Per Andy Vasquez of NJ Advance Media, head coach Robert Saleh said after the game that Wilson had the wind knocked out of him and should be fine moving forward. Zach Wilson struggled to get Wilson the ball against a tough Dallas defense. Despite opening the season on a two-game touchdown streak, Wilson will have a low touch floor in Week 3 against the Patriots, even if his injury doesn't lead to additional missed time.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Sit Him (Lineup Decisions)

If you start Wilson, your only hope is that he finds some garbage-time stats, which admittedly is possible, but you don't want to count on it. Everything about him is great -- everything about his situation is awful. And even if things work out, his upside really isn't that big with Zach Wilson. I'd rather start Tyler Lockett, Michael Pittman and DeAndre Hopkins.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Back to Wilson under center

Wilson will be working with Zach Wilson as his quarterback in Week 2 against the Cowboys and beyond after tests Tuesday confirmed a season-ending Achilles injury for Aaron Rodgers, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports. Garrett didn't catch a single touchdown pass in the nine games Zach started last season, but the Wilsons connected for a pivotal score in the Jets' 22-16 overtime win over the Bills on Monday. Rodgers went down with the season-ending injury in the first quarter before completing a single pass with the Jets, and while predictions of a spectacular sophomore season from Wilson were tied in large part to the expected upgrade in quarterback play, the 2022 first-round draft pick out of Ohio State could still be poised to build on his 1,103-yard rookie season.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Spectacular TD after Rodgers injury

Wilson caught all five of his targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 22-16 overtime win over the Bills. Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) exited the game on the Jets' first drive, and the starting quarterback may have suffered a season-ending injury. Zach Wilson (no relation to Garrett) failed to get New York's top target involved consistently, but the second-year receiver still came up with the highlight of the night on his game-tying, two-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter. Wilson reached across his body and used his right hand to corral a poorly thrown ball, then juggled it with the same hand and proceeded to gain possession while falling back for an early catch-of-the-year candidate. It was Garrett's first career touchdown from Zach, who started nine games last season. The 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year is a tremendous talent, but his fantasy stock would take a major hit in Week 2 against the Cowboys and for the rest of the season if Rodgers' feared Achilles tear is confirmed in the coming days.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Catches Rodgers' first TD

Wilson corralled all three of his targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason win over the Giants. Wilson joined new quarterback Aaron Rodgers in making their respective 2023 preseason debuts with the Jets on Saturday. The talented duo connected for an easy 14-yard touchdown to close out the first-team's second and final drive of the game. Wilson is poised to take his game to the next level after the Jets traded for the two-time MVP this past offseason. The Ohio State product accrued a 83/1103/4 receiving line last season while winning AFC Rookie of the Year with Zach Wilson, Joe Flacco and Mike White throwing him the ball, so expectations will be high for the star wideout following Rodgers' addition. Wilson and the Jets will kick off the regular season with a matchup against the Bills on Sept. 11.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Not expected to play Saturday

Wilson isn't in line to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Buccaneers, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports. Per Randy Lange of the Jets' official site, Wilson returned to practice in recent days after spending two-plus weeks rehabbing a low ankle sprain, but it looks as though the team will play it safe with the wideout Saturday. In that event, Wilson's next chance to see exhibition action will be next Saturday against the Giants.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Not available Saturday

Wilson (ankle) won't play in Saturday's preseason contest against the Panthers, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports. Despite returning to team drills this week, the Jets are still being cautious with Wilson after he tweaked his ankle during training camp. Breece Hall (knee) and Aaron Rodgers are also sidelined, so Zach Wilson will lead the Jets' offense and presumably rely heavily on Allen Lazard, Corey Davis and Mecole Hardman.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Back to team drills

Wilson (ankle) is participating in team drills at Thursday's practice, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. Coach Robert Saleh said early Thursday that Wilson would only participate in individual drills, but it looks like the second-year wideout has progressed quicker than expected. Granted, the Jets went through a light practice load, but it's nonetheless encouraging to see Wilson take another step forward. Saturday's preseason game against the Cardinals could still be too soon for Wilson to suit up, it may not be long until the wideout is back in full.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: No team drills Wednesday

Wilson (ankle) was once again held out of team drills during Wednesday's practice, Eric Allen and Ethan Greenberg of the Jets' official site report. Wilson continues to ease his way back from an ankle injury that he sustained earlier in training camp, but it shouldn't be long before the wideout resumes practicing fully. That said, Wilson appears unlikely to see action in Saturday's preseason game against the Panthers.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Likely returning soon

Wilson (ankle) is expected to fully participate in the upcoming joint practices against the Panthers on Wednesday or Thursday, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports. Wilson was supposed to return to practice Saturday, but it seems as if the Jets are taking a cautious approach with the stud wide receiver. The second-year target suffered a low-ankle sprain July 27 and has yet to participate in organized activities, but he's been spotted on numerous occasions doing work on the sidelines. It's unclear if the team expects Wilson to participate in the Jets' second preseason contest Aug. 12.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Continues to miss practice

Wilson (ankle) remained sidelined at practice Tuesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Wilson hurt his ankle during last Thursday's practice, but Antwan Staley of nydailynews.com relays that the wideout is dealing with a low ankle sprain. With that in mind, Wilson profiles as day-to-day and it seems unlikely that he'll take the field in Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Browns.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Tops 1,100 yards as rookie

Wilson caught nine of 17 targets for 89 yards in Sunday's 11-6 loss to the Dolphins. He finishes his rookie season with 83 catches for 1,103 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 147 targets. Wilson had a phenomenal rookie season, establishing himself as the team's clear No. 1 wide receiver while setting the Jets rookie record in receiving yards. His production was even more impressive given New York's quarterback carousel of Zach Wilson, Mike White (ribs) and Joe Flacco, who peppered the 2022 first-round pick out of Ohio State with targets in the season finale. If the Jets can upgrade under center in 2023, Wilson would be well positioned to avoid a sophomore slump.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Top DFS Play

Wilson was still the lead target earner for the Jets in Week 17 and I would expect a bounce-back performance against a Dolphins defense that has been much better against the pass than the run. Hopefully the down game last week holds down his roster rate as well.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: WRs to Start

Wilson has to be the most excited player for the Jets now that Mike White is starting again. In three games with White, Wilson averaged 21.0 PPR points per game against the Bears, Vikings and Bills. He had 30 targets over that span for 19 catches, 335 yards and two touchdowns, and he should have the chance for another big game in Week 17. It's a tough matchup against Seattle and fellow rookie Tariq Woolen, but I'll still take my chances with Wilson as a starter in all leagues now that White is back. And I like Elijah Moore as a sleeper and high-end No. 3 PPR receiver since he scored at least 12 PPR points in two of three starts with White.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Disappointing performance in loss

Wilson brought in four of nine targets for 30 yards in the Jets' 19-3 loss to the Jaguars on Thursday night. He also lost a fumble. The rookie receiver suffered a significant downturn in production in conjunction with a shaky night overall for the Jets' air attack. Zach Wilson was replaced by Chris Streveler late in the third quarter, which actually helped to boost Wilson's production somewhat. However, Wilson's lost fumble at New York's 38-yard line with just over four minutes remaining arguably snuffed out any chance at a successful comeback, as the turnover led to a field goal that gave the Jaguars a 16-point advantage. Wilson's best chance at Week 17 success in a road matchup versus the Seahawks a week from Sunday would be the return of Mike White (ribs) to the starting role.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Almost 100 yards with Wilson at QB

Wilson caught four of nine targets for 98 yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Lions. Wilson was targeted only three times in the first half by Zach Wilson, though one of those looks turned into a 33-yard reception. The rookie receiver was noticeably frustrated in the third quarter when he was running open beyond the sticks but the second-year quarterback missed him with an errant throw. Wilson kept his head in the game, though, and made another 33-yard catch in the fourth despite being interfered with by a defender on a drive which culminated with C.J. Uzomah's go-ahead touchdown catch. After the Lions retook the lead, Wilson added catches of 22 and 10 yards to help get the Jets in range for a game-tying field-goal attempt, which Greg Zuerlein missed from 58 yards. The Jets have a quick turnaround before facing the Jaguars on Thursday, which will make it a tall order for Mike White (ribs) to get cleared; therefore, Garrett could be catching passes from Zach (no relation) again in Week 16.
