Cardinals' BJ Ojulari: Available for Week 1
Coach Jonathan Gannon said Monday that Ojulari (knee) will be ready to play Sunday at Washington, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
The rookie second-rounder figures to start against what was a fairly run-heavy Commanders team in 2022, so pass-rushing opportunities may be a bit more sparse than usual. Ojulari will try to get a quick start to his pro career after logging 36 tackles and 5.5 sacks at LSU last year.

Cardinals' BJ Ojulari: Activated from PUP list
Ojulari (knee) was activated from the active/PUP list Monday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Ojulari has taken a step forward in his recovery from the knee issue that has bothered the rookie since before the Cardinals selected him in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. According to coach Jonathan Gannon, Ojulari remains without a firm return timetable, Bo Brack of PHNX Sports reports. Once healthy, the linebacker out of LSU will compete for a starting role on the rebuilding Arizona defense, though it seems unlikely that he'll play in the team's preseason opener Friday in Denver.

Cardinals' BJ Ojulari: PUP bound
Ojulari (knee) was placed on the Cardinals' active/PUP list Wednesday.
The 41st overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft is dealing with a knee injury that will keep him sidelined for the beginning of camp. Arizona is hopeful to get Ojulari back soon, as the team is in need of edge rushers after finishing in the bottom third of the NFL in sacks last season and losing J.J. Watt to retirement. In his final two seasons at LSU, the 21-year-old Ojulari put up 112 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks.

Cardinals' BJ Ojulari: Tending to knee issue
Ojulari, who was placed on the Cardinals' active/PUP list Wednesday, underwent a knee procedure between the combine and the 2023 Draft, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Coach Jonathan Gannon described Ojulari's health concern as "a little nick" in his knee, but it didn't stop Arizona from using a second-round pick on him back in April. Ojulari hasn't been able to mix into drills since then, sitting out the entire offseason program and starting training camp on the PUP list. He's eligible to practice and/or play at any point, but the team will continue to exercise caution with the rookie pass rusher.

Cardinals' BJ Ojulari: Dealing with injury
Ojulari has not been practicing due to an undisclosed injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Ojulari has been missing practice with what head coach Jonathan Gannon described as "a little bit of a nick." While the injury is not serious, the team is just being cautious, and the 21-year-old will look to get back on the field before training camp begins next month.

Cardinals' B.J. Ojulari: Heading to the desert
The Cardinals selected Ojulari in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 41st overall.
Brother of Azeez, Ojulari blazed his own path at LSU and turned in a strong three seasons on the Bayou with 16.5 sacks and 25 tackles for loss. His 6-foot-2, 248-pound frame isn't ideal for an every-down player, but he has good length (34.25-in. arms) to help fight off blockers and the film showed him to be an explosive athlete. Arizona has added some impressive athletes in the draft in recent years with the likes of Isaiah Simmons and Zaven Collins, and Ojulari gives the Cardinals yet another versatile chess piece on defense.
