The Texans claimed Orchard off waivers from Washington on Monday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. Orchard played in eight games for Washington since the beginning of the 2019 season, recording 16 tackles, a sack and a pass breakup. He'll arrive in Houston and fill an immediate role with his new team, as the Texans just placed Brennan Scarlett (forearm) and Kyle Emanuel (concussion) on injured reserve. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, Orchard's availability is uncertain for this Sunday's matchup against the Browns, but he may compete for a starting outside linebacker role once he joins team activities.... Browns' Nate Orchard: Participates in practice
Orchard (groin) returned to practice in a limited fashion Wednesday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Orchard could be called upon for a serious role sooner than expected since Myles Garrett left Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury that the Browns fear could keep him out for weeks. However, there's no definitive ruling on Orchard or Garrett, but this is definitely a pair to keep an eye on.... See More ... See Less -
Browns' Nate Orchard: Sidelined Monday
Orchard will sit out Monday's exhibition with the Giants due to a groin injury, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Orchard tallied two tackles and a half sack in the team's first preseason game. It's unclear if he sustained the groin injury during that contest or in a recent practice, but either way, he'll be unavailable Monday. The 24-year-old is looking to secure a spot on the final roster, so his quick return to practice will be essential to those efforts.... See More ... See Less -
