  • Lions' Marcus Davenport: Healthy again, signs with Detroit

Davenport has agreed to sign a one-year contract with the Lions after playing only four games for the Vikings in 2023 due to a high-ankle sprain, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. The linebacker has never made it through a full season healthy and will be on a one-year deal for the second campaign in a row. Davenport played 112 defensive snaps and finished with seven tackles, including 2.0 sacks, with the Vikings last season. The sixth-year pro played in a career-high 15 games in 2022 with the Saints and finished with 29 tackles.

  • Vikings' Marcus Davenport: High-ankle sprain ends season

Davenport logged seven total tackles including 2.0 sacks in four games during the 2023 regular season. Davenport's first season in Minnesota was cut short by a high-ankle sprain suffered in Week 4. The 2018 first-round pick out of UTSA was only on a one-year deal, so he'll hit the open market once again this offseason. Given his injury history -- he's played more than 11 games only once in the last four seasons -- the 27-year-old could very well end up having to settle for another short-term, prove-it deal.

Davenport (calf) is active Sunday against the 49ers. Davenport has been out since suffering the injury Week 9 against the Ravens. Davenport (calf) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers. Davenport has been sidelined for the past two weeks with a calf injury sustained during New Orleans' Week 9 loss to Baltimore. However, the 26-year-old managed to log three limited practices ahead of Sunday's contest, and he should have a solid chance to suit back up versus San Francisco. Davenport recorded 19 tackles and 0.5 sacks over the first nine games of the season, and his availability would be a big boost with fellow starting defensive end Cameron Jordan (orbital) also questionable to play.
