Top Bengals News

  • Bengals' Sam Hubbard: Productive night in win

Hubbard played 84 percent of the defensive snaps and finished with six tackles and a sack in the Bengals' 19-16 win over the Rams on Monday.

The defensive end also helped the Cincinnati defense hold Los Angeles to a 1-of-11 showing on third down. Hubbard has 18 tackles, three quarterback hits, a tackle for a loss and a sack through three games.

  • Bengals' Dax Hill: Active night in win

Hill played on all 55 defensive snaps and finished with eight tackles and a sack in the Bengals' 19-16 win over the Rams on Monday.

The safety also helped hold the Rams to 292 total yards. Hill posted stat lines of 11 tackles and a pass defended in Week 2 and six tackles and an interception in Week 1.

  • Bengals' Logan Wilson: Big night in win

Wilson played all 55 defensive snaps and finished with four tackles and two sacks in the Bengals' 19-16 victory over the Rams on Monday.

The linebacker also contributed to a defensive effort in which the Bengals forced the Rams to punt six times. Wilson recorded 18 tackles over Cincinnati's first two games.

  • Bengals' Evan McPherson: Scores double figures

McPherson made four of five field-goal attempts as well as his only extra-point try in Monday night's 19-16 win over the Rams.

McPherson accounted for 13 of his team's points, connecting on field goals from 49, 53, 48 and 54 yards. That impressive effort came despite him sending a 56-yard effort wide left on Cincinnati's first drive. Through three games, he now sports 22 points.

  • Bengals' Tanner Hudson: Reverts to Bengals' practice squad

Hudson reverted to Cincinnati's practice squad after Monday's 19-16 win versus the Rams.

With regular starter Irv Smith (hamstring) out, Hudson came up from the practice squad to serve as Cincinnati's top pass-catching tight end in Week 3, hauling in two of four targets for 30 yards. He actually played more snaps (36) than Drew Sample (34) and Mitchell Wilcox (32), so if Smith remains out for Week 4 at Tennessee, expect Hudson to get called up again.

  • Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Targeted nine times in win

Boyd had five receptions (on nine targets) for 39 yards in Monday's 19-16 win over the Rams.

Boyd turned in another solid PPR effort after grabbing six receptions against the Ravens in Week 2. The veteran slot receiver finished a distant second in receiving for the Bengals behind Ja'Marr Chase's 12-catch, 141-yard performance. Boyd doesn't carry the upside of his superstar teammate, but he offers a safe fantasy floor heading into Sunday's tilt against Tennessee.

  • Bengals' Tee Higgins: Down game on MNF

Higgins was held to two receptions (on eight targets) for 21 yards in Monday's 19-16 win over the Rams.

Higgins was unable to build off of his monster two-score game from Week 2 against the Ravens, instead reverting to his Week 1 form, when he posted a bagel on eight targets. The 24-year-old was able to grab two of his eight targets this time around, but he still harbors an ugly 36 percent catch rate through three games. Joe Burrow (calf) has been limited by injury to begin the season, and it has clearly affected the rhythm between him and his top targets. Until the franchise quarterback starts playing like his usual self, Higgins and the Bengals' passing game may continue to have volatile results. He'll get an opportunity to bounce back against the Titans on Sunday.

  • Bengals' Joe Mixon: Breaks TD drought in win

Mixon carried the ball 19 times for 65 yards and a touchdown while catching one of two targets for five yards in Monday's 19-16 win over the Rams.

Mixon hit pay dirt for the first time this season with a 14-yard touchdown scamper on Cincinnati's first offensive drive coming out of halftime. The 27-year-old experienced a slight increase in touches after handling 16 in the season opener and 17 in Week 2. Backup Trayveon Williams was the only other back to record a carry, and he was limited to that one rush all game. Mixon should continue to dominate the Bengals backfield in a Week 4 matchup with the Titans on Sunday.

  • Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase: Breaks out with 12 catches on MNF

Chase hauled in 12 of his 15 targets for 141 receiving yards in Monday's 19-16 win over the Rams.

Chase busted out of his early-season slump in a big way with a career best 12-catch game in a primetime matchup. The only thing missing from the superstar's receiving line was a trip to the end zone, which has eluded the wideout through three games this season. Joe Burrow (calf) was limited by injury for the third consecutive week, but he finally was able to get his top weapon involved after the duo combined for just 70 total yards in Cincinnati's first two contests. Chase's production is tied heavily to Burrow's health, and the QB told Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic in a post-game interview that his calf made it through Monday's win without a setback. With his first big game of the season out of the way, Chase will look for his first trip to the end zone in 2023 when the Bengals visit the Titans on Sunday.

  • Bengals' Joe Burrow: Gutsy performance on MNF

Burrow (calf) completed 26 of 49 pass attempts for 259 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Monday's 19-16 win over the Rams.

Burrow was able to power through his lingering calf injury in order to help Cincinnati earn its first victory of the 2023 campaign. The star quarterback was clearly not at full strength, making several errant throws and showing limited mobility in the pocket. The end result was another pedestrian fantasy line for a player who sat near the top of all passing categories over the last two seasons. On the bright side, Burrow confirmed to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic that he did not suffer any setbacks to his calf in a post-game interview following Monday's victory. The best hope for the quarterback's fantasy managers at this point is that he continues to inch closer to full strength as the season progresses. Assuming Burrow gets through this week's practice unscathed, he should be back under center for the Bengals in a tough road matchup against the Titans next Sunday.

  • Bengals' Trenton Irwin: Inactive Monday night

Irwin is inactive for Monday night's game against the Rams.

With Irwin inactive, Andrei Iosivas and Charlie Jones are on hand to provide Week 3 WR depth behind Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. Through the first two games of the season, Irwin has yet to record a target.

  • Bengals' Chris Evans: Inactive against Rams

Evans is inactive for Monday night's game against the Rams.

With Evans the odd man out in the Bengals' Week 3 backfield, Trayveon Williams and Chase Brown are available to handle complementary snaps versus Los Angeles behind top running back Joe Mixon.

  • Bengals' Irv Smith: Inactive versus Rams

Smith (hamstring) is inactive for Monday night's contest against the Rams.

Smith was listed as doubtful for the game after logging limited practices Friday and Saturday, and he'll sit this one out, which should result in Drew Sample leading the Bengals' Week 3 TE corps, with Mitchell Wilcox and Tanner Hudson also on hand. Smith will target a potential return to action Sunday against the Titans.
