  • Commanders' Casey Toohill: Logs full practice Thursday

Toohill (concussion) was a full participant during Thursday's practice.

Toohill suffered a concussion during the team's Week 2 contest against Detroit, and he ultimately failed to suit up Sunday against the Eagles. Although the 26-year-old's ability to practice in full Thursday is an encouraging sign, he'll still have to clear concussion protocols prior to Sunday's matchup against Dallas. Expect to hear more regarding Toohill's Week 4 availability within the upcoming days, but with fellow defensive end James Smith-Williams (abdomen) listed as questionable, there's a chance Washington might have to heavily lean on Montez Sweat, Shaka Toney and Efe Obada.

  • Commanders' Daniel Wise: Practices in full Thursday

Wise (ankle) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.

It's an encouraging sign for Wise, who practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday and was ultimately sidelined Sunday against the Eagles with a high-ankle sprain. With the 285-pounder's return as a full participant Thursday, he'll likely continue serving as a rotational piece for Washington's defensive line Sunday against the Cowboys.

  • Commanders' William Jackson: Logs full practice Wednesday

Jackson (back) was listed as a full participant on the Commanders' injury report Wednesday.

Jackson popped up late on Washington's game status report and was ultimately ruled inactive for Sunday's game against the Eagles. However, the sixth-year cornerback seems to have gotten over his apparent back issue, given his return during the first practice of Week 4. Jackson recorded 11 tackles and one pass defended over the first two weeks, and he'll reprise his starting role opposite Kendall Fuller moving forward.

  • Commanders' Jonathan Williams: No listing Wednesday

Williams isn't listed on the Commanders' injury report Wednesday.

It was reported earlier Wednesday that Williams was limited in Washington's first practice of Week 4 prep with an illness, per John Keim of But the ensuing breakdown on the injury report didn't include Williams, whether it was the team's official site or the NFL communications site. As a result, Williams is poised to continue serving as the Commanders' third running back behind Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic on Sunday at Dallas, which so far has resulted in one carry for six yards on three offensive snaps through three games.

  • Commanders' Wes Schweitzer: In concussion protocol

Schweitzer (concussion) will not practice Wednesday, John Keim of reports.

Schweitzer will need to fully clear the league's concussion protocol before returning to action for Washington. The Commanders are relying on Schweitzer to start at center with Chase Roullier (knee) on IR, so the team could have to turn to Nick Martin versus the Cowboys on Sunday.

  • Commanders' Jonathan Williams: Dealing with illness

Williams was limited during practice Wednesday due to an illness, John Keim of reports.

The severity of the aliment doesn't appear to be too serious as the running back was able to at least participate in some of Wednesday's practice. He'll have a couple of days to shake the illness before the team needs to make a decision on his status for Week 4. However, he's played primarily on special teams, so his potential absence wouldn't be a major concern.

As a rookie, the 2021 first-round pick managed 76 stops and one sack across 16 appearances (559 defensive snaps), but he's seized a much larger role to start the 2022 campaign and could easily been in store for a career year if he stays healthy.
