Orlov signed a two-year, $15.5 million deal with the Hurricanes on Saturday, per Darren Dreger of TSN.
Orlov posted a career-best 36 points (seven goals, 29 assists) in 66 games between the Capitals and Bruins. The 31-year-old defenseman should help round out Carolina's blue line, providing modest offensive upside while bringing a solid defensive presence.

Bruins' Dmitry Orlov: Two helpers in Game 3
Orlov notched two assists Friday in a 4-2 win over the Panthers during Game 3 of the Bruins' first-round series.
He had a hand in a first-period goal by Taylor Hall and a third-period tally by David Pastrnak. Orlov has a four-game point streak dating back to the final game of the regular season, and he's racked up four helpers in the postseason so far, giving him plenty of momentum heading into Game 4 on Sunday as the Bruins try to seize a 3-1 series lead.

Orlov will get an extra day of rest Sunday, with the Bruins having already locked up a playoff spot. Jakub Zboril will fill in on the blue line. The 31-year-old Orlov has fit in nicely in Boston, logging three goals, nine assists, and a plus-12 rating in 11 games since he was traded from Washington. He's up to six goals and 31 points through 54 games this season.

Orlov scored a power-play goal and added two even-strength assists in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Sabres.
The veteran blueliner wasn't expected to have a prominent offensive role for Boston when he was picked up from the Capitals last week, but Orlov has suddenly erupted for three goals and eight points in the last three games, including a goal and a helper with the man advantage. He almost certainly won't keep up this pace, especially with Charlie McAvoy handling the point on the first power-play unit, but the Bruins' attack is potent enough that even secondary pieces like Orlov might have more fantasy value than anticipated down the stretch.

Bruins' Dmitry Orlov: Three-point effort Tuesday
Orlov scored twice on three shots, added a power-play assist, blocked four shots, logged two PIM and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Flames.
Orlov scored twice on similar plays in the first period, and he also set up Pavel Zacha's third-period equalizer. Through three games with the Bruins, Orlov has logged five points, six hits and five blocked shots. The 31-year-old has been a good fit in a bottom-four role, though the improvement in talent around him from what he had with the Capitals has also bolstered his offense. For the season, the blueliner has five goals, 19 helpers, 81 shots on net, 94 hits, 67 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through 46 appearances.

Orlov registered two assists and three hits in a 3-2 win over Edmonton on Monday.
Orlov, who was acquired from Washington on Thursday, was playing in his second game with Boston. He had a minus-1 rating, a shot, two hits and a block in his Bruins debut Saturday. Orlov has three goals, 21 points, 63 blocks and 93 hits in 45 games this season.
