Sabres' Eric Comrie: Makes wrong sort of history
Comrie stopped 39 shots in Thursday's 10-4 loss to the Stars.
Buffalo kept things semi-close until the third period, when four straight Dallas goals in a span of three minutes and three seconds blew open a 5-3 contest. Comrie became just the second netminder in Sabres franchise history to cough up double-digit goals, and his 10 set a record for a home game. The 27-year-old had won his prior four starts dating back to Jan. 26, but with a 3.95 GAA and .877 save percentage on the season, this brutal outing might encourage the team to end its three-goalie experiment and give Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Craig Anderson more work.

Sabres' Eric Comrie: Wins fourth straight start
Comrie turned aside 33 shots in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Lightning.
The 27-year-old continues to be used sparingly in Buffalo's three-goalie rotation, but Comrie has enjoyed some impressive offensive support when he is in the crease. He's won four straight starts dating back to Jan. 26, allowing 13 goals with an .892 save percentage during that time but watching the Sabres light the lamp 21 times. That makes him an intriguing DFS option when he gets the call, but tough to roster in season-long fantasy formats.

Comrie made his first appearance since Jan. 26, and he was able to overcome a lackluster effort thanks to the Sabres' strong offense. The 27-year-old has fallen to third on the goaltending depth chart behind Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Craig Anderson, and that crowded crease isn't doing Comrie any favors. Sabres' Eric Comrie: Gets rare start
Comrie will patrol the crease against the Jets on the road Thursday, Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet reports.
Comrie will be making just his third start in the team's last 33 contests, having lost both prior outings while giving up six goals on 46 shots. With how infrequently the Sabres have utilized Comrie this season, it's a little surprising that he hasn't been sent down to the minors. Unless he can earn some more opportunities, Comrie figures to remain a relative non-factor in fantasy contests moving forward.

Seeing his first NHL action since Nov. 16 after recovering from a lower-body injury, Comrie was handed early 1-0 and 2-1 leads but couldn't make them hold up despite Buffalo's efforts to reduce the volume of rubber he faced -- the Sabres blocked 13 shots in front of the netminder. Comrie may have a short window in which to regain his form, however, as Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen had won six straight starts prior to being sent down to AHL Rochester on Monday.
