Verhaeghe is day-to-day due to muscle tightness, Panthers coach Paul Maurice told Colby Guy of Florida Hockey Now on Friday.
Florida isn't too worried about Verhaeghe's injury, especially because the 28-year-old forward dealt with similar issues during the Panthers' 2022 training camp, and he still went on to score 42 goals and 73 points in 81 contests that season. Verhaeghe is expected to serve in a top-six capacity and have a role on the first power-play unit this year.

Panthers' Carter Verhaeghe: Secures win in overtime
Verhaeghe scored a goal on three shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Golden Knights in Game 3.
Verhaeghe gave the Panthers their first ever win in a Stanley Cup Finals game with his tally 4:27 into overtime. He also set up Matthew Tkachuk's game-tying goal in the third period. Prior to Thursday, Verhaeghe had been limited to one assist over his last five contests. He's at seven tallies, 10 helpers, 52 shots on net and a plus-10 rating through 19 playoff appearances.

Verhaeghe scored a goal on six shots, added an assist, logged two PIM and went plus-2 in Thursday's 3-2 quadruple-overtime win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Verhaeghe scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Maple Leafs in Game 5 of the Panthers' second-round series.
Both points for the 27-year-old came in the first period, as Verhaeghe continued a remarkable playoff run that has helped Florida advance to the Eastern Conference Final against Carolina. Over his last nine games, Verhaeghe has racked up four goals and 11 points, but Friday's helper was his first point on the man advantage since March 23.

Verhaeghe's goal ended up being the game-winner, putting the Panthers up 3-2 with 2:13 left in the second before Brandon Montour scored the final goal for either team 12:24 into the third to give Florida a 4-2 edge. Verhaeghe scored the overtime winner and added an assist in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Bruins in Game 7 of the Panthers' first-round series.
After helping set up Brandon Montour for the tying goal with exactly one minute left in the third period, Verhaeghe played hero at 8:35 of the extra frame, going top shelf over a screened Jeremy Swayman to complete one of the biggest upsets in NHL playoff history. Verhaeghe has points in four straight contests and compiled two goals and eight points through seven games against Boston, giving him significant momentum heading into the second round, which begins Tuesday in Toronto for the Panthers.
